- Islam is the most commonly practiced religion in Kazakhstan; it was introduced to the region during the 8th century by the Arabs. Traditionally ethnic Kazakhs are Sunni Muslims who mainly follow the Hanafi school. Kazakhs including other ethnic groups of Muslim background make up over 90 per cent of all Muslims.

А то что в годах 1200-1800 было нормально так количество христианов это не правда так как христианство и не доходило до казахских земель а ислам уже было распространено ещё 750 годах кипчаки предки нынешних казахов приняли ислам мирным путём а христиане переехали на землю казахов только в 1800 годах по приказу российских властей)

As a Kazakh I can say that Christianity was never common among Kazakhs at any time of history. Zoroastrianism at early ages yes, traditional beliefs were quite common at some point and Islam was spreading much earlier than 1200(from 700 approximately) Christians started to come with Russians in mid end 19th century and today's Christians are their descendants, but most Kazakhs are traditionally Muslim alhamdullilah

Im Qazaq from Qazaqstsn and i know my history. We take Islam in 10th century to arabs helps us in war with China. In the North-East regions of Kazakhstan wich is close Altai there is some Kazakhs who is still in Tengrism. And in Altai in Russia wich is was Kazakh territory in soviet times ,there is a lot of kazakhs and majority of them are Tengri. But 99% of Kazakhs are muslim.
