Good stuff. Cant wait to watch the rest of these later today. Any suggestions on Storage Options for all my trinkets while on vacation for a couple of weeks. I like to travel light, but would like to rent something to hold my souvenirs and such until I go back home.

There are storage places for luggage at some stations (Tokyo station in particular comes to mind). Not sure what their policy on length of time is though.

Usually the toys not for sale are from the owners person collection. Using the shop to display them.

Yes I understand that but it’s a big tease for people who come in to see things they want to buy sitting there but can’t.

Monster was amazing back in the day. It was my go to place for Star Wars Black Series and TMNT stuff. But I think it was hit hard by the pandemic and the store these days is bare-bones. I thought they went mainly internet-based, but even the website has very little compared to other import stores in Japan. These days I use a couple of good stores in Fukuoka and Osaka, but of course, I can only order online.

Exactly! It’s sad how some of these great “mom & pop” shops that helped nurture and sustain our love for the hobby have fallen victim to events recently. As I said in the video, I hadn’t been there in YEARS and was actually a bit surprised it was still there. Hopefully this video lets other collectors know it’s a shop worth checking out as Japan reopens to international tourism.

As of today the yen is 129.70 to the dollar so something that costs ¥20,000 would be $154
