We Meet

In 2010, I worked as a Census Taker in the Decennial Census. I enjoyed getting to know my neighbors, but was dissatisfied with the brevity of our government-mandated interaction. In 2011, I revisited the threshold, this time as a designer... who also happens to be a musician.
Many thanks to my kind neighbors and Census friends. The song in this video, titled "We Met Upon The Range," was written and performed by musician and songwriter Dietrich Rapalski of San Francisco.

Working the Census gave me a greater sense of humanity and compassion for people in very diverse neighborhoods of San Francisco. Thanks for helping me to remember. I loved that job.
