Mine too!A masdive fan since my childhood in the eighties and still at forty five I think Christopher Reeve was so loveky and brilliant as Supernan and his alternative ego Clark Kent. I was really saddened when reading of his death and he was my childhood hero. It was SO tragic, what happened to the only Lois Lane, as in beautiful Margot Kidder here, is the best and my favourite Lois Ljǰ. I read she'd been in a serious accident and suffered mental health problems, and that she ever so sadly committed suicide. These two both had serious life changing accidents, it's so sad because they were SO brilliant, so charismatic, and incredibly gifted. Their onscreen chemistry came through the screen in to our living rooms in the eighties and Lois Lane played by Margot Kidder, was born to play this role and I loved her and nobody else has come close.
I’d forgotten how great this was shot… your edit really brought me back to seeing it like I saw it when I was a kid… not knowing what was going to come next… that was fucking cool. Thank you!
If this took place in the Monsterverse, Zod would have to deal with a very pissed off giant nuke breathing lizard. Who is probably just as invincible as he is.
But 😂😮 the Lady Villain was so sexy in her black pants, the slit showing off Her sexy thighs 😮 So She died ? kind of a waste of such a beautiful ❤️ sexy Lady, now that She became a regular Human that cannot crush one like a bunch of bread sticks and carrots.
Still so cool to watch. I'm still in awe, watching the whole clip. Amazing bit of cinematography. The clip @ 5:49 when Superman talks to his dead ancestors for advice. This could be a glimpse of our future with AI....... Fascinating.
When Superman tricked them with the power-sapping machine, why didn't the Kryptonian Kriminals get smart white blouses and trousers like he did the first time? 😁
@@devincampbell5007 Not to be too nerdy, but that version of Superman used regular Kryptonian cloth from his ship that Ma Kent turned into the suit, the same type of cloth the Criminals had. Only in Superman Returns and the Henry Cavil ones was the suit made by the Fortress or the Ship. But I don't mean to be serious, I was just making a little fun at the clothing switch.

Aaron Smolinski played the role of baby Clark Kent/Superman in the iconic scene where he lifts the Kent family truck in the 1978 film "Superman" He made a cameo appearance in "Man of Steel" (2013) as an Air Force Communications Officer, appearing around 1 hour and 13 minutes into the film. Smolinski has been in a total of five Superman movies, making him a recurring presence in the franchise. For his role as baby Superman, Smolinski's naturally blonde hair was dyed dark to match Christopher Reeve's appearance. In the truck-lifting scene, Smolinski's actual mother played his on-screen mother, and his whole family was involved in the filming...
It's funny that so many people complained that things were always going wrong in order to get Henry cavill's Superman on screen to do something when watching these movies from the '80s the exact same thing was happening.
A few things about this fight between Superman and Zod, Ursa and Non. What made it so great is that Superman tapped into his Human side to outwit his opponents. With that said anyone else think Lois should have gotten a clue that Superman has been on earth a while is when he commented he used to play this game in school. Anyhoo it’s always funny when Superman comes out the chamber and puts on the whole I’m going to Bow act then crushes Zod’s fingers. Once last thing. Christopher Reed does a great job in bringing out the humanity of Superman. This is why we liked Henry Cavill.
One thing that doesn't make sense about the chasing missle scene is he has a hard time catching it. Then later in the movie he flies the speed of light.
That is because this is "Silver Age" Superman. His power was pretty much whatever the writer wanted it to be back then. It wasn't until the mid-80's that he changed.
yea.. as a kid I loved this movie, still do.. but now I also have a problem with that whole battle too.. Crazy powers that superman never had.. also killing zod in a situation where he no longer posed a threat. kinda like "hey your like a human now, so lets just throw you into this pit here and be done with you" lol...wtf?
Christopher Reeve was the PERFECT Superman and the PERFECT Clark Kent, no-one can touch his performance, he is Greatly Missed. R.I.P. Christopher.

Yes Clark Kent was but superman never thought bad about mankind except for criminals and especially Lex Luther

He'd have been eaten by a shark within a week. Or a sheila.
Just the fact that Jack O'Halleran looks like a monster and could actually kill you with his bare hands in real life as a pro boxer.
You’ll see in full body shots, he’s wearing boots with a 3-inch lifted sole for added height though.

Hello and good day to all, Superman vs the death Star was asome I loved it.
As far as character development, George & Christopher are unmatched, bar none.
Superman had a plan to take away the powers of 3 Super Villians by using the green crystal
Or a polyurethane emblem.
That was pretty cold blooded murdered though… modern superman never would’ve done that to someone without powers or allowed Lois to either.
The longer cut shows the criminals survived and were arrested by the Arctic police.

He's the best superman for me. But due to limited resources for 80s effects, superman seems handicapped here.
I'm not agree with you, Superman doesn't seems handicapped here, what are you talking about ?😊
He lifts up the San Andreas fault at the end and goes back in time. How is that a handicap?
And they should have antiperspirant deodorant, because superman shouldn't have had sweaty pits.
