I’m in zone 9a on the east coast. The few frosty nights I get are enough to kill the tops of my Colocasias and Alocasias but the corms are safe in the ground. I have potted some in my limited garage space but never tried keeping them in water. Going to try that but one question, have you ever done the same with Alocasias ?
I did try it with macrorrhizas to see how they would do. I put them in water and in a sunny spot in my greenhouse. They survived, but didn’t grow as many roots as the colocasias. I know many houseplant owners grow Alocasias in water with pon or leca, but I haven’t done that yet.
Beautiful ❤️ 😍 🤩 👌
I absolutely LOVE alocasias! I have a collection of about 8 different varieties. Yours are beautiful ❤
Thank you, I love both alocasias for their huge leaves and colocasias for their vibrant colors.
