These 2 met when Sam began busking. So timid and nervous. No amp, no mic, no music. Just his voice. A voice that attracted Ren's attention. So Ren tired and heading home, stopped, set Sam up and played for him. Told Sam not to worry, anything he could sing Ren could play.
Sam had never done so well busking. Ren told him to keep all he earned and their friendship began there.
Ren has so many talented friends you will be blown away! He only works with talented people! Ren met a 16 year old boy after he was too tired to busk. On his way he saw Sam and offered him his amp and guitar, Sam said he couldn’t play a guitar so Ren sat down and played the guitar while Sam sang since then Sam calls him his best friend and big bro as Sam is I think 6 years younger. P.s Ren said he could keep all the money that he makes on that day from busking together.

Yeah, I watched a vid recently on Sam’s channel where he says this and he has vids or him self with Ren and they look like kids, it’s beautiful it made me cry, I love Sam, I love how all these guys are blowing up right now, REN, Sam, Chinchilla…. It’s so overdue

Sam Tomkins actually just dropped a new song - "See Me" - it's powerful and so, so beautiful. But then again, everything he does blows me away. One of my favourites of Ren and Sam together though, is the MC Sessions version of "Blind Eyed", which they wrote together. One of my favourite reactions to this for sure. Thank you so much. Probably one of the best reactions I've seen - and, believe, me I've watch sooo many. I think you will really love Ren's "Tales of Jenny, Screech and Violet (Full)." You have to do the Full version to really appreciate the incredible storytelling, performance and raw talent. The only thing I will say about it is each "tale" was shot in 1 take. Enjoy!

Fantastic reaction! Sam does have a youtube channel and has been releasing music regularly. My personal favorite is Lose It All (Live). He has a more traditional pop type aesthetic in his solo work, but his voice is made for it. If you want to check out more of Ren and Sam together, they have 3 original songs on Ren's page: Blind Eyed and What Went Wrong 1 & 2. There are several versions Blind Eyed and you will get different opinions on which is 'best'. My personal favorite is the one

I'd recommend "Hold On" and "Crucify Your Culture". Two Ren songs that tend to be overlooked for some reason. Probably because they're older compositions. They shouldn't be overlooked because they're both bona fide masterpieces! Among his very best work! :)

The Sam and Ren journey is fun on so many levels. They've been friends forever. Sam was 16 when he went busking a capella. Ren was done for the day, but heard Sam as he walked by. He lent Sam his amp and guitar playing skills and told Sam he could have whatever money they made. The rest is history.

This is one of my very favorites videos. Sam's voice is pure blue sky and sunshine, and Ren's is all smoke and jazz. If i came across that in the street, I'd just empty my wallet into their guitar case.

Ren's vocals are on another level! I see Sam as a bit of a one trick pony tbh. He does that one trick well, despite the odd flat or off-key note, but that's all he does, over and over. I find myself getting bored with it after a while. Ren, in contrast is a singular talent, who never gets boring. :)
