I'm pretty sure it's your harness, but with some "surprises". This made it all make so much more sense and now I'm pretty sure I'm ready to finish the bike and start it up! Thanks!

    Working on installing my rolling wrench harness, only complaint is it didnt come with hardware to attach positive cable to starter.

    • @RollingWrench
      @RollingWrench  3 года назад

      Hey dude! It’s super simple. The gy6 engine comes with a cable attached to the starter. Clip the nut off the cable and use it with the provided screw. That’s the reason we don’t include it anymore. That process works best.

    • @cookingbacon3085
      @cookingbacon3085 3 года назад

      @@RollingWrench I see, it looks like the cable that was on the starter has the nut/threads built into it. Like the bolt screws right into the cable itself, it doesnt sandwich between a bolt and a nut. I should be able to use the battery cable type hardware but I just need to make the hole on the starter connector a tad bigger.

    • @RollingWrench
      @RollingWrench  3 года назад

      @@cookingbacon3085 you shouldn’t need to make it bigger. Just cut the nut off the cable and use the screw to attach

    Funny that the same motor comes from 50cc up to 150cc and a street legal (over here) have a few, easy to remove, devices that limits top speed to ~25mph.. the 125cc versions just have more plastic to look bigger. But the ruckus, they all look the same. If you strip down one of those "china scooters" to the frame, the biggest difference is placement of battery and gas tank. But then you have all the cheap plastic stuff where the ruckus have casted aluminium..

      @@RollingWrench alright thanks guys! I did buy a couple rock lights [they go in the fender of a jeep wrangler or 4x4] and I need to add a couple other items so this would be a nice idea.
      I have a video idea for you as well RW .. You mention keeping the ruckus fuel pump .. How about a video for those of us that have a regular gy6 scooter .. and lets say I wanna go on eBay and buy a ruckus fuel pump? Is it just that simple? unplugging the petcock and switching it with a fuel pump? That would be the video idea.

    • @RollingWrench
      @RollingWrench  5 лет назад

      Gregory Megatron if you have a basic gy6 with a gas tank above the engine. This can be fed by gravity unlike a ruckus. This is much more reliable. If you have a basic GY6 scooter with a gas tank below the motor they run a fuel pump. I would recommend a electric pump. The vacuum pumps are fine until the bike has been siting for months.

    • @that_texas_local
      @that_texas_local 5 лет назад

      JoeyD JoeyD I’ve worked on both, the ruckus and metropolitan, and this is RUCKUS specific. The metropolitan has its battery mounted towards the back of the bike. Where as the ruckus has its battery near the front. You’ll run into cable length issues. You’ll have way too much power cable since it doesn’t have to reach the front battery. Which would be fine since you can always roll it up. But then there’s the right hand control that you have to plug in-line. That part of the harness still needs to go towards the front.
