I’d be sad too if years later my teammates started calling me a bully and a bad person just because I wanted to win, and wouldn’t accept players who didn’t deserve to be there because they didn’t want to put in the work. That’s what leadership is, but some people want to expend little effort and expect a trophy/ring. It doesn’t matter whether we’re playing sports, selling cars, digging trenches, making games, attending classes, etc… whatever it is that we do, if we’re not giving it our absolute best, we’re not winning. No promotion, no degree, no bonus, no championship, no praise. That’s what we can expect when we don’t put in the work, and the opposite is true when we do. We reap what we sow.

That's why when he retired the 1st time when his dad was murk, he went & played basketball, that's what his dad loved. He did not care about the jokes, bc it wasn't about you'll dumbasseries. Plus he listened to his mom and signed with Nike. Also everyone forget the players had choices. Like Mike said, play how he wanted or na. Go ask for a trade or sit & get a ring. Why not asked these players that played their as&3$ off to win these titles, if they regret putting up with MJ to win? And why? And why didn't they leave?

@Iam thetruth this right here is what’s wrong with society. “My respect” smh…sound like these feminist women out here. Somebody like MJ lit a fire under Tom Brady’s ass for him to have the mentality he has to win. That’s just how it works if you have ever played sports. You don’t get to the top by everybody respecting you, and talking to you nicely.

He’s right. I’m not a professional athlete, not even close. I’m a craftsman who works with tools. There’s a lot of hard work, dedication and sacrifices that separates a 35k a year craftsman and a 200k a year craftsman. It turns out 99% of the people you run into in your respective craft whether it be a professional sport or any other job just aren’t dedicated enough to be in the top 1%. He said this same thing like 30 years ago and a skinny kid from nowhere was listening. Thank you for teaching me this Mr. Jordan.

This episode stood out very much. Seeing Jordan’s eyes, as they teared up and the crackle in his voice as he talked about this nearly brought me to that point. Ppl only looked at the way he was instead of looking at why he was. He gave 120% and can tell the pain of failure/losing still lingers within him. To be around others that don’t have the same views, dreams, ideas, goals, drive as you, can hurt worse than what it took to win. Especially if you wanted it for them, more than them. MJ will always be an inspiration.

Phil Jackson, the famous shaman of basketball, I think largely agreed. I don't necessarily blame him by any means and it's sure as shit worked out for him, he's by most people considered the GOAT of his sport (despite being drafted 3rd), by experts he's top 2 at the least debatable with LeBron (albeit maybe Kareem's in the discussion but in that case we're heavily valuing longevity in which case LeBron is the uncontroversial GOAT, heavily valuing peak it's a coin toss between him and Bron), he's a billionaire, etc.
Idk what his social and psychological life is like. I hope he's doing well. Obviously there's a pathology in his extreme competitiveness, gambling addiction, etc. As a layman watching there are a few moments in _The Last Dance_ of intense emotion which I personally saw as an experience of guilt. Now I don't know exactly what went on in the Bulls locker room, or whether he was straight up abusive, but it clearly worked. I hope he can accept it and I hope his teammates don't take his behavior too much to heart because at least from the outside it appeared to just be a tactic from his extreme competitiveness and not a personal attack (though I don't doubt he used personal attacks as motivational attempts... however misguided or impotent).

He played with fire 🔥 He took every single player around him to the next level…. Even his opponents…. That’s why he’s the greatest of all time and he was a professional baseball player towards the end of his career….

The 🐐 is Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, not Michael Jordan.
He had fire and his baseball career was iffy at best.

    • @timstraw8312

@@epicgodlux4228 how can you say that? You don’t see Kareem playing two pro sports and playing at that level…. Jordan’s baseball career was iffy but it showed that it didn’t matter what sport it was, Jordan was going to be a factor…. He went from hardly ever playing baseball to hitting a home run against professional level pitching:…. That’s not an easy feet…. The Bo Jackson was more of a goat but He didn’t play basketball and unfortunately his careers were cut short….

    • @epicgodlux4228
      @epicgodlux4228 2 года назад

@@timstraw8312 Easily. Kareem was not arrogant to think he needed to play two sports. Kareem also dominated from the collegiate level to the professional level. Michael was arrogant and he could not be great in both sports.
Jordan was NOT factor! Did the team have a better record with him on the team than before? No. Did the tran win the world series? No. Did the team even make it close to the big dance? No. Correction he was a factor. A walking clown show to take in the money from his "presence" otherwise he was ineffective as a baseball player.
In a head to head Kareem beats MJ. In a statistical battle Kareem beats MJ. In a feelings based environment where logic and facts cannot be argued MJ beats Kareem.

Didn't apply to Dennis though. Both Jordan and Jackson said that Rodman was the greatest athlete they've ever seen and didn't push him like the others. Dude was out partying and binging nonstop and still performed. That's the thing too. Not to take anything away from Rodman, but imagine if he had the work ethic and raw determination (with none of the distractions and partying). People like that exist. Where they are the best with sub-optimal effort. No doubt in my mind that for every 1 Michael Jordan, there are 100s who are actually better but misfortune and distractions got in the way. They didn't fuck with Rodman because they know how good he was and the way you got the most out of him was actually to let him party and "be himself." Just a cool dynamic there.

Pretty sure he said ‘that’s because you never won anything’
When you see your leader not flopping, working out to get stronger, play BOTH ends of the floor, hit the gym before you and is the last to leave - it’s pretty hard as a teammate to criticize the man….unless you’re lazy, in that case, you wouldn’t last very long on the team.

LBJ on the other hand is flopping when touched by a little PG/SG, not the same thing… and his fouls aren’t even hard fouls - MJ had harder fouls and still managed to put up a shot for an And 1.. stop making excuses for softness - LBJ in today’s game is nearly the same size as most centers, that’s how small the league is now - bunch of scrawny kids.

      It's a different era, oldhead.
If he has an open lane for a dunk most won't bother getting in his way.
Anything short of that is going to bring in extra contact, and he can't just fling guys around.
That'd just backfire on him with a foul.
He plays the game as it's officiated, if he could just bully players in the paint however he pleased, he'd do just that.
