- A beautiful morning for a photo walk with my Canon M50 & Canon EF-S 55-250mm STM Lens. Such a wonderful sunrise, pink sky and nice reflections on the water. I saw some geese, ducks and some birds. Watch till the end to hear my thoughts on today's journey and to discuss that photography isn't always easy.

You do amazing photos with the 55-250. Proof that bigger, and more expensive doesn't mean better photos. Yes, many days seem 'off' but like you showed here, there's always beauty to see and capture. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you, I appreciate that a lot!
These are gems and hard to find these videos ❤
Thank you :)
No nature photography video on this platform has made me want to go out and try it for myself as much as this one, the fact that you do it with attainable gear as well is just fantastic. Inspiring video, seriously.
Wow, thank you for your kind words. I really appreciate that. I’m glad I help inspire you to get out there. Thanks again for the support!
Beautiful opportunity. At least Nature doesn't deprived you of capturing those amazing wildlife moments.
I have a 55-250 too, amazing gear, specially for the budget.
Telephoto lens are such a font of inspiration, one of the bests choice to fall in love with photography again and again.
Great to hear! I totally agree
That crop factor is amazing with this type of photography and the IS also
Stunning sunrise. Awesome shots, thank you for sharing
Thank you!
Stunning shots 😍 especially the sunrise reflected on the water
Thanks a lot 😊
Great vid. This is the 2nd lens I bought for my camera after my kit lens 17-135 and 50mm. I was really impressed with it but after a month or so I bought a tamron 18-400mm second hand. I highly recommend you try and rent on. You will instantly want one. The range is amazing and picture quality phinominal on Canon 90D.
Thank you. Good to hear that you like that lens! I’ve looked into the Tamron but have heard better things about the Sigma. I am planning to rent a couple different lenses and to try them out.
I would suggest you try both. I have a variety of sigma and tamron lenses and with every lens I buy I feel my experience is not the same as what people say. Everybody has their own opinion. Ofcourse the ultimate lens for birding is a 150-600mm Sigma/Tamron or the new Canon 200-800mm that just got released but they are pretty unique and specialized. But I look forward to seeing which lens you choose
My kind of videophotography 👍 I like it.
Nice video. In the intially i was also having the STM lens 55-250mm but for bird photography i change my camera and lens too.
Insane quality shots for such a budget lens! Evidently it’s more about the person using the gear than the gear itself. Subscribed 😸
Thank you so much! I appreciate that. Thanks for subscribing
I have the 55-250mm II, that I didn't used much at all but it seems that is far from sharp but need to give it a try. Great photos and video, was good to find you on RUclips
Definitely give it a try. I find it to be sharp and excellent quality. I love using it. Thanks and I appreciate the support
Thanks for the video, it's very nicely made! I got interested about the video, because I also got the 55-250mm and Canon 250D as my camera. Only thing with the 55-250mm lens is that I would like to get the STM version. I bought the older IS version earlier when didn't yet know much about lenses overall. So probably it would be worth it to switch my IS version to the STM one. Still a great lens overall, the EF-S 55-250mm. Nothing's really wrong with my IS version other than the focus ring isn't as smooth as in the STM version. Edit. I've also been fascinated by birds and they are some lovely creatures.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed the video! Yes, the STM version is the one I have. But it's still great you have a working 55-250mm lens. They really are fascinating and it can be challenging to photograph them so it really makes you sharpen your skills.
I took this lens out yesterday with my M50ii and was lucky to capture a few birds. Rather scarce commodity during winter. I'm waiting for my mount plate to replace the present one and adapt it to a speedbooster to get more light and faster shutter speeds. Wish me luck. Great images and videos, BTW
Nice set up! They are definitely a scarce commodity in the winter. But nice to hear you still ended up capturing a few out there. Good luck 👏🏻 and thank you
Hey 👋🏻 love your work. I have this lens, but I’m considering getting the RF 100-400mm and selling the 250mm as there’s not enough zoom in most of my bird shots. What do you think?
Thank you. The 100-400mm is a great lens I've heard. I personally would also keep the 250mm but upgrade to Sigma 150-600mm so you can get even more distance. But everyone has different objectives. You could rent the 100-400 from a camera store to see if you like that one.
Great captures. ❤❤❤ good vibes.😊
Thank you!
thanks for the nice footage, but i had a question what do you use ? a canon adapter or viltrox or a speed booster ?
You’re welcome! I use the viltrox adapter
I got this lens like new almost for free, but mainly because of your beautiful shots that were pretty inspiring
That is awesome 👏🏻 Thank you, glad I inspired you to get it
Nice video! I have that lens. Excellent for the price. So light and just sharp! ✌️😃
Totally agree! Glad you enjoy it
SO cool and amazing plz one request is one video in camera setting tutorial m50
Beautiful place,i hope someday i can touch this snow😊😊😊
Thank you! Yes, one day you will have to go experience the snowfall
Hi ! I reached out to you on insta the other day. I found myself an m50 on marketplace and looking forward to dusting off and adapting my ef glass and shooting some video. Made the decision largely due to seeing the results you are getting here, and a separate lightweight video rig will allow me to keep the big lenses on my nikons for photos :) I'd been looking at buying a z50, but hey ! Why not use glass i already own ! Thanks for posting your work :)
Nice! The M50 is a great lightweight camera. I especially enjoy it with my 55-250mm also a great lens. I find the kit lens with the M50 not the greatest but paired with other lenses it’s a great camera for the price. You are welcome! Enjoy shooting 📸
this content is really appreciate
Beautiful shots lot's of love from Nepal ❤🇳🇵
Thank you 🙏🏻
Im new to wildlife Photography and I need a lens and im thinking of buying the canon 55-250mm STM but I always think its short for small birds. How is the lens? And great video!
You should see if you can rent it first to see if you’d like it. If you have a bigger budget maybe consider the 100-400 canon to get the extra reach. Personally I will probably be getting the sigma 150-600 in the near future. Otherwise the 55-250mm is a great lens for the budget. In the deep forest the 250mm wouldn’t be ideal but in a park it would do.
@shaydlens the Sigma 150-600 Contemporary is great for wildlife although it's still not ideal in low light it's aperture range being f5 to f6.3. I tried using it with a speedbooster, but it looks like the extra glass degrades the IQ a bit. Just thought I should share this. Hope it helps
Amazing photos! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you!
This was the third lens I got (after the kit and 50mm), and it's my go to for wildlife. For around $300CAD it's hard to beat.
Great to hear. I completely agree!
This is a great video! Good message!!!
Thank you! 🙏🏻
What beautiful photos, I have an m50 mark i, do you think I can achieve the same with this one? Since it does not have a digital zoom
Thank you. The mark i is similar but the mark ii just had some little improvements. In this video I am using my 55-250mm lens not the kit lens. With birds your gonna want a telephoto lens. I recommend the 55-250 because it’s affordable but it’s more for birds that are used to humans.
But apart from the lens, did you also use digital zoom?
Nice footage! Well done!
Thank you!
Wonderful light. 👍👏👏👏👏🎥🎞️
i have same set up and i can tell it's an awesome combo
It really is!
Great shots as always
Thank you
Beautiful sparrow shot! Could you share your editing process?
Thank you! I edit with Lightroom. Maybe I’ll do a video on my editing in the near future
Keep up the great work
Thanks and you too!
your talented human being
Thank you very much :)
Was fortunate a few weeks ago with this lens to have shot a Great White!................Egret :)
Awesome
Wondering if 250mm is enough for me to take wildlife/bird picture. Im my country it seems to be hard to get any decent 300mm budget lens and looking forward to get this lens. Anyone have any feedback if the 250mm is good enough reach for me. Currently using the 18-135mm and the zoom doesnt reach far enough for me.
From which camera?😊
Canon M50
You get amazing results with such budget priced gear! I'm definitely getting the 55-250 STM lens for my R50 whenever i can!
Thank you! Great idea 👏🏻
You got some really good shots! What mode do you shoot in?
Thank you. I shoot in Manual. With street photography I’ll sometimes use Aperture Priority.
good
Thank you
The sweet spot for that lens is about f6!
I just bought this lens! What makes you say f6 is best? :) (i kind of always thought lower is better because you get more background blur? i'm new haha)
nice
Thank you
yo i have this lense its really good for its price
Exactly! Love this lens. Glad you enjoy it 👏🏻
I suppose using MF would be better for capturing birds and video stuffs
No MF is the hardest to use for wildlife. Auto focus is the way to go
👍👍👍 I totally relate! I too have the Canon 55-250 STM lens. It packs well above its price point, and partners really well with my Canon 70D especially for video. But I also hear you when it comes to frustration when the wildlife is too far away! 250mm is sometimes just not enough and longer lenses are beyond what I'm prepared to pay. I've recently compromised for video work by getting a Panasonic Lumix FZ82 which gives equivalent 1200mm for video. Not a big fan of it for stills though. Do please check out some of my videos from the UK! 👍🤓👍
Great to hear! Thanks for the comment. Will check out your videos 👍🏻
