Anyone who grew up in Sydney knew this beast, didn't know it still existed after seeing it again made me feel like a teen back at eastern creek a true street legend!!!
What a fantastic car. I can't believe it's still around after all these years. Long before there was the Olympic stadium at Homebush there was the abattoirs and quite a famous bit of straight concrete where petrol heads would head out to on a Saturday night after meeting at Henry's or wherever. WOG007 was always a crowd pleaser then and even more so now.... 40 years later!
I remember reading about this beast in the 80s of it winning this event or that event... but the pictures of it pulling these massive wheel stands, just blew my mind.
I remember seeing this car in magazines back in the early 90's and i loved it. My first car was a td cortina and I've got a tc cortina now. Great to see it still doing the rounds
I grew up seeing this car cruise the streets . Good to see it’s back and being driven . Can’t keep a legend off the road . 👊
I remember being 14 and watching this thing decimate all at Auburn Macca's and any street in Sydney that they wanted to run him on. I don't think I ever saw this car take an L in all the years it ran back then. Great to see the king return. 😎🤘
inspiration to a great number.
I’m turning 50 soon I remember when I was about 16-17 seeing his Dad wheel standing this car at Oran Park and also remember being in a mates car following it down Parramatta road and he was popping the front wheels up at the traffic lights every chance he got
Every one in Sydney new this car and it was always fast
Great to see it again
Same here bro. I'm the same age as you too man. I remember this car very well too. Those were the best days !!
1st. This is LEGENDARY. I remember seeing this beast at the old Eastern Creek Drags (main straight of racetrack. West to East) in the 80s. And the old Oran Park (RIP) drags. Before they put the mesh fence there. Plenty of pics of it lifting the front wheels.
I remember seeing Mick driving around in her in the early 90's lifting the front wheels taking off from the lights, great to see her looking better than ever.
I lived in western Queensland in the eighties and knew about this car! Legend!
fully hectic Habib
Grew up in Thornleigh, WOG007 was the car and wherever you went everyone knew about... It spent a lot of time under covers at ABAL towing it's awesome to see it looking smick again
Was about to write about seeing it at Thornleigh in the late 80’s parked opposite the train station at the shops, ah the memories, glad to see it’s still kicking around!
Was going to buy a 351 from one of the moits at one point which was going to go into my XC falcon... Just had the money to only just buy but not to install and pay bills etc .... dam sad I sold my XC
I was only about 15-16 when I was working down the road, there was a mad XB coupe floating round about the same time
Growing up n the uk in the 70,s these things were everywhere.
Never really took any notice of them .
When I passed my driving test In 1988 someone offered me a very tired looking one for 25 quid!(even then there wasn’t many left!)
It’s only recently after seeing one pass me I thought they were actually a really good looking car!
This one is stunning!😍
That car is part of Australian history.
I am a massive mk3 cortina fan but what you have done to that car is just pure art. Its stunning
Legend Car, still turnheads and wheels, its a credit to such a high and quality build team
The most famous Cortina going around
Mate tuf73c give that s look at
I recall seeing this car tooling around Thornleigh and surrounds more years ago than I'd like to remember. Running a 302 Windsor back then from memory and had the Powered by Ford in the boot back then. Great car then, even better now.
Raced Michael at Oran Park back in the day. I forgot to leave the line as I was too busy waiting for Wog 007 to wheel stand. Obviously Michael won that race.
I love this car remember it from the creek used to run consistent 8's on the gas always was a crowd pleaser love the twins on it now !
It always amazes me how these Cortina models were absolutely everywhere in the early to late 80s, and then disappeared completely by the 1990s here in Britain. I can't think of another car that just was so popular then instantly nowhere within a few short years.
Banger racing ate a few
@@dinosshed True but that's true for so many other cars too. I've looked at many cars over the years that were popular at the time, and none have disppeared with the alarming quickness of the Cortina Mk3. Look at Fiestas. Many still on the roads of all ages. By the end of the 80s there were almost no cortinas from the 70s.
Weird how it just fell off.
@@crunchyfrog555 in Australia there's far greater chance of finding them gathering dust than entering a banger event. Over there the roads were salted and it's always damp which caused rust.
@@dinosshed Aye, I suspect a large part of it is treament and rust. My brother had quite a few of them back in the day, and many were bloody rust buckets. This must have contributed to their quick disappareance. It's just the only exmaple I've ever found of such a quick disppearance especially as they were everywhere.
Td cortina such beautiful lines it's a pity there's not more left around
That's a beautiful Street Machine that guy had an idea and he delivered it that's one beautiful car
I remember this car at eastern creek, road registered, at the lights wheel stand, got some nice pics back in the day, well this would be around 29 to 30 years ago, awesome to see u still got it, plus its been a few Drag Racing News, street & strip, cool to see it again, as I thought was gone, awesome job guys 💯 percent wicked mad cheers KC Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺👍😎✌👊🇦🇺
I remember seeing this Cortina for the first time at Oran Park Drags back in the day winning every run
I remember that car at Auburn McDonalds and Carter St :-)
This car has been seen in front of every knock shop in Sydney back in the 80’s & into the 90’s.
Would Love to see this doing 6's at US Dragweek. ..... Let alone seeing it here !! Have a TD in the build and even drove one for our honeymoon way back !!!!!!!!!!
Can't wait for it to be at drag week
Wow, love this car. Takes me back to my younger days of Oran Park Race way. Love it 👌 nothing like Old School. God Bless 🙏 🇦🇺

Well Organised Gentleman, Yugoslavian SPY 007, which is a true story and in fact all his work was copied by non other than Ian Fleming, his hotel room was no: 07, which is where Ian Fleming got the number from, just saying lol, :)

Were not offended but the ethnic community is
Please do more videos like this!!!!!!!!!!!
It's something new that we will be doing every month. One car per issue
Aussie history
How's the stance on that little rocket. Looks and sounds tuff as!! Nice one boys
NICE RIDE CUZ RESPECT MELBOURNE
Obviously modern cars add significant technology but you don't really see the lines these cars have anymore. There was a time when the lotto garage would house the latest and greatest. Now its more likely to be classic iron with modern running gear.
No messing about in this rig
👌🏽
Was this dark green in the early/mid '90s or was that 008?
No
I’m pretty sure the same family had a black one as well in the early 90s
Ford. Does it again )))
1 minute in and a couple of ads. WTF youtube
Premium Utube so worth it if you use it alot...No Bloody ADS 👍😃
Little bit disappointed that it didn't have a Barra in it.
Nice car but a WOG plate?? Seriously?
Yep daddy money alright, cant see all those cars getting built on savings from day to day, all he has to do is go to a bank and say i run a baseness and its worth x amount he's my Accountant, sec 32, how much can i borrow, thus money is there, just getting what you like and loving what you like work and play are two different things well done to his dad for doing what he loves and sticking to it?
Old tin, old times move on get a better life .......
Wait it’s 2021... you can’t say or use wog that’s racist.
Flops
Enough with the four-door cars do they not produce two door cars in Australia especially muscle cars come on
Oh shut up you foreign peasant. 🤦 WOG-007 is a legend of the street racing scene from the 1980s! 🤘
tit
Shut Up You Idiot!
Australian Muscle Cars are Traditionally Four Doors.
And this model Cortina never was available in two door in This country, and its also been continuously driven on the streets n strips of Sydney since 1981 and is an absolute legend of a car.
What's ya problem there Todd, are 4 doors threatening ya man card?
Lol that really got under the ozzy skin EH! 😂🤣😅😝
