Why is the steering ratio and offset so much different than the open set up. I've purchased the All Ashalt package and so far it's been great but it seems a lot different from with the Michigan track. The steering ratio seems very aggressive compared to some other set ups I've seen and is the lines the same with the fixed set up you share compared to the open I'm trying to learn. Car seems super loose everywhere through the corner. Even if I back the corner up as soon a I get back in the throttle the car wants to step out. Even when the car is slowed down. It's like this set up wants to cause the car to D wedge and snap out whenever you try rolling back into the throttle. Any advise
my guess is the ratio and offset is based on the builders preference. you can change it to what you like and it wont effect how the car drives. honestly its all preference and im guessing thats what its just built around :) are you in 5th gear and where on the track are you running when its getting loose ? are you down on the very bottom by the yellow line or is it getting loose in the preferred lane or even up top ? if you find the steering is too aggressive id suggest to find the ratio youre most comfortable with or use the most often.. if you find it too aggressive its quite possible that you may have more wheel input than you think / want and having too much wheel input is causing you to get loose ?? just brain storming with the info youve shared. the only other idea i have is to drive it a little harder into the corner than you are to get more of a load on the RF... its not ideal but more of a band aid to help the issue of feeling loose. the real option id do is tighten the car up a bit with a wedge adjustment in the RR to help the stability on corner exit :)
@RobVrabel Rob it happens in the preferred line and above. I don't go down to the white line because that transition from flat to banking is not a good place to be. I will try the things you mention though. Thank you very much for the quick reply
That helped a lot. Now I just need to learn to save the right front better getting into 3. That seems to be the week link now. 1 and 2 I get through great. I can really close up the distance there but as the tires where still seem really good in 1 and 2 but start falling back in 3 and coming out of 4. Pulling away from me down the front stretch.
@@DanTinnin id suggest backing up 3 a little bit but not much and just try your best to run the seam a lane off of the yellow line, thats where the most grip usually is and should help save the RF. but backing up the corner entry should take some load and heat off the RF as well to help save :)
Why can't I find these exact numbers? The numbers are always close. Like, Steering pinion 60 or 67, not 64. rear mc the max number is 25. ad brake bias, minimum is 65%.
maybe youre in metric ?? this is the first time ive heard of this and ive never dealt with it myself. double check in the garage and make sure the metric box is unchecked
i drive the camry and those are the values that i see, i think the camaro and mustang have a ratio value for the steering pinion and the camry has a mm distance instead. the MC values that you have are in metric too
Great vid, very thorough. Thank you!
thanks
did help a bit but T3-T4 is still taking 0.3-0.4 second from my laptimes 😥
Is running the wall here feasible at all at different tire states?

You should uncheck metric system at options tab
