I started with that mask and I like when I upgraded I got the empire flex because of the lenses are interchangeable.

This mask is literally a crime against humanity! It was also my first mask and the foam MUST have been green lit by a sadomasochist that worked at Empire. Who in their right mind would ever subject someone to that foam as a non-rental player!?!?

I bought this mask in green, spray painted it black, and yes, it does get the job done 100% for a solid price. The only aspects to this mask that I really dislike is both the foam for the eyes, and the sun visor. The sun visor is easy to remove, but it's also very flimsy so that's kind of a bummer. The foam for the eyes is not terrible by any means, it's just not amazingly comfortable either, especially compared to a Tippmann Intrepid. Other than that though, this mask is totally worth buying it you're like me who thinks that dropping over $100 for JUST the mask is TOTALLY ridiculous.
Edit (05/12/23): I now thoroughly disagree with the last statement I made. I have an Empire EVS nowadays, and I my viewpoint is now the opposite of what is mentioned here. I think that buying a high end paintball mask is arguably the best investment you can make.

Hey guys at Defcon, for me there's a vital move missing from the disassembling process, how did you detach the visor completely? I mean above the lens retention clips at both sides. Appreciating your reply a lot, cheers.

Thank you for the video. The price is ridicoulous for what you get. Hands down my favorite foam out of every mask. Other foam like my virtue vios feel like/you can tell it will crumble into bits after a year. These ones feel solid and honestly when I sold mine a few years later the foam still looked like new and was still firm

now do a video of best mask for magfed players. >:(

There really isn't a "best mask for magfed players" because one, mask needs vary for everyone, and two, magfed paintball is still paintball, and the best masks are still the best masks. Magfed paintball doesn't change what mask you should get.

A simplified/ cost reduced Empire Events set.. There's literally NOTHING to go wrong with this set as it's based on the exact same lens, vent spacing and strap as the more expensive and harder to produce Events, same foam even.. the only thing that's "cheaper"? isn't a knock to quality : the mask ear and everything is now a 1 piece "unibody" design..
Cheaper to produce, cheaper to buy , same or better quality/ durability .

Absolutely NOT the same foam as an eVents. These have rubberized open cell foam, making it good for rentals but is way too thick for the density. These things hang way far off your face making it feel unsecure. Would be much better if it was 1/3rd the thickness it currently is, or at a much lesser density. Maybe they should make a rental and consumer version?

@@toestr2120 OK I stand corrected on the foam.. But same profile= you can DIY apply Events foam

@@johnnystock7294 no not problem solved. The issue is the foam is too thick/dense to compress enough (for a thin face anyway)- even with a new strap fully tightened. They should either use thinner foam similar to what's on the vforce rentals or up the price by $5 and use JT/eFlex style foam.
