Loved our 22’ OBW for the first 14 months 52k miles, until the dealership wanted $299 to diagnose the a/c failure! One CVT code at 34k, but apparently just needed a “reset/relearn” , windshield broke in the first two week, I was on the oil pan gasket list when God sent a deer to total it! Now she drives a 23Tacoma 4xOR . I will say I was thoroughly impressed by the OBW ‘s. 4wheel system, we took it to the mountains twice, did some stupid jeep trails between Montazuma and Breckenridge (deer creek trail?)😮 pulled a 3300# camper through the mud and 3 passes with no problems!

My New Subaru wilderness will be red! We love Subaru and bought our first Subaru Accent Touring in 2021 almost three years ago. I wanted something a little more adventurous and fun! My family and I love the outdoors and we are very close to nature.I think that I will never purchase any other vehicles other than Subaru from now on! They are wonderful adventurous vehicles! I'm so excited about purchasing mine today and I can't wait to start my new adventure!

Thankyou, interesting segment. 2 things: Wish you would've had one of the Wilderness Crosstreks doing this ride with it's donut spare on to see just how it performs since Subaru thinks it's a adequate "offroad" spare. Secondly, I'd like to see a "Myth Busters" like test with a Crosstrek Wilderness towing a 2500 lb or so offroad trailer. These CTW's are so new so maybe it's just a matter of time before that type of towing test happens. Just wonder how long that CVT will last when towing about 2/3 of it's 3500 lb towing capacity over the course of 20-30k miles. Thanks again. The scenery and footage were amazing.

@@SubieandFriends All the other Wilderness trim Subarus have a full size spare except the Crosstrek. You’re also missing the front camera on a Crosstrek. Being stupid (not prepared) is your choice, good luck with that.
@@JamieUtah How about the dealership throwing in a free one? With limited space, you will need rack cross bars to mount a basket to carry the tire. Hmmm you’re looking at spending an extra $1000 just so you can have a full size spare tire. Blow a tire on those rocks you’re fucked trying to limp home on a donut tire.

Knowing that you have a full-size spare that can handle any situation can help you relax and enjoy your off-road adventure.
a lot of those look like regular Crosstreks and NOT the Wilderness--- right?? And they STILL did ok? I'm hesitant becasue of the stupid CVT which I DO NOT TRUST-- too many master mechanics have advised me NOT to fool with one.. and they sound like they're going to fly apart getting on the freeway- or "bust a gut" as we use to say. I KNOW subarus are good- I use to sell them-- but havne't had anything to do with them in many years-- there WAS no cvt before -- and I don't care if they are "improved" or not-- I just do NOT trust them.

Absolutely, we had a couple Crosstrek Outdoor trims on this trip, but they did have spacers or a 2" lift added which made things a lot easier!
