am I wrong to assume that this build is only working because the enemy team doesnt know to expect it? It feels like a master yi kind of thing. Yi is hard to kill because of his slow immunity and invulnerability frames but if your team knows how to play around his vulnerabilities, he is a sitting duck and thus very difficult to pull off in silver+.
Similarly, it seems that a bruiser talon doesnt exactly one shot the enemy carries if not massively ahead and isn't all that tanky either since his abilities don't synergize with tank items at all. His ult seems to be more useful for damage than for escape in chaotic team fights where it is hard to tell when lethal damage is about to come your way. Thus he has to somehow make his way right to the enemy carries without exhausting his qwr, one shot them and then immediately make his exit. His ability to skirmish with other bruisers only comes from him being massively ahead and is more of an example of what happens when your opponents massively underestimate your tankiness. It is anecdotal evidence at best for the effectiveness of this build. The player is just that good.
I do see though that with this build he provides much more sustained dps in 2v2 brawls. The wave clear is also much more precise compared to ravenous.
18:42, he has to land both w procs + two q's to kill a varus when he doesnt have ult despite 17 kills and 191 cs

I was playing that build from the start of my Talon. Happy some high elo players really appreciate that. With that CDR you just can't die and still have damage to kill someone. Unfortunately that in lethality build you have too much damage, so this build is perfect i think. You can actually build Youmuu's in this build if you want, but you will have much worse scaling, Talon usually fall off in late game, but in that build you are actually SCALING.

If he showed mid with a blue buff its a really easy invade for warwick on his red. Hec shouldve just ignored the ping and full clear.

He is good but just duo queuing with yuumi and sits on him kinda boring to watch. Or Janna who camps him mid whole game. I feel like gameplay where you solo stomp lanes is much more enjoyable, because it's just more a realistic setup to play 1v1 and try to stomp your enemy than just get help from your supp the whole early to mid game.

As a talon main I wouldn’t have been able to describe talon any other way. Great video tho, I love yedal. Lurkz77 on EUW is another great talon main who plays mainly phase rush talon, he’s really interesting to watch. Could be worth a look later.

Midbeast talking about Talon counters being Vex and Lissandra, while being good into him, nothing really compares to playing against Karma or LeBlanc as Talon, you legit feel like your champ is completely worthless
Leblanc is easy. Karma u need phase rush. Lissandra and vex will get you super low before you even can get to them, because of their guaranteed CC

Second, LeBlanc has the hidden passive of great gank setup where Talon has no real way to escape ganks in a neutral lane with his 335 base ms.
So you’re never 1v1 in the LeBlanc lane, she can call her jungler at any time and 2v1 you. Likewise the safety of R doesn’t work because chains reveal you, so you have to ult pre-emptively, where LeBlanc will have to commit nothing.
If you play vs a good LeBlanc there is nothing you can do other than coinflip roam, I’m pretty sure most high elo Talon mains agree that this matchup is one of the most cringe picks for Talon.
