@@Intuitive_education Hey please the last part of the question with the word STEEPLECHASE when you choosed the « S » why did you not consider the fact that they where 2 S’s?
@@melimeligrace7642 Pretty sure its for the fact that they asked for different combinations, so the arrangements of letters dont count, so taking either the first S or the second S wouldnt make a difference :>

This is the part of the Statistics exam people most struggle with. I would suggest watching videos on understanding what a permutation and combination is. Then proceed to attempt questions and understanding the answers as best you can.
Start with the easiest questions you can find and work up to answering/understanding harder ones.

All solutions are correct but in the last question of 2nd we don't need to count no. Of E 0 and 1 differently you will get same answer if you just take one E so total will be 7 different letters now 3
Choose 3 from it, it'll certainly give same answer at last and also removes one case that's it......

how come for question 2 part 1 you don't divide by 4! aswell as 2! for the S's because o f the four different ways you can rearrange the E's?

to make it easier.......you divide by the amount of number repeating . E.G at time 14:49 he divided by 3 factoril because 7 repeated three times..... You could also write this as (5!/1!*1!*3*)the one factorial comes from having one 3 and one 8 . 3 factorial comes from have 3 sevens hope that helps

hello, in the last part of the steeple Chase question, why did we not multiply by 4 after, because the S can be in 4 different positions?
Hello I have a question..struggling with Q .10 b(ii) : In your answers you give 3 ways of doing it. The first I understand, the second for me doesn't seem to work out:(6C4)x(4C3)x2C1x2C1=240...giving the total, for me, to be 360...and not 180?. I understand your last method too, it's this middle one that is perplexing as to why it doesn't give the same answer as the others. Thanks. Really appreciate your work!!

In the 1st part of the second question. Wouldnt you have to also divide by 4!( factorial ) because the E’s can be rearranged as well ?
No becuase all the 4 E's are counted as one block
hey in the last questions the 3rd part
they say only one S is included what happens to the other S
as there are 2 S's given in the word STEEPLECHASE
as the requirement is to include only S.
So, you must only consider one S and ignored the other one
as you should not include 2 S

Hii, on q26 why did you say 6!×5!×2! And not 4!×5!×2!because if you put the Keene kids together that is=5!, when you put the Uzuma kids together=2! And then there are 4 slots for 4 adults left, so why is there no 4!?
for question 27 part (i).... why dont we multiply 181440 by 4!, cuz there are 4 Es which can be arranged differently amongst them?
