YESSSS... trying to organize my fragrances is a definite need I can relate to and the method to my madness is grouping my perfume with body mist and lotion according to the scent notes aka cherry, peach, raspberry, peony,hibiscus, blueberry, etc... The reason is due to my obsession with layering. I'm trying to use my collection so it doesn't go to waste. 👌😉

Awww Veronica! I felt the anxiety and fully understand. I’ve held the following philosophy most of my life for various reasons and here it goes: “If you don’t pay my bills, you don’t keep me warm at night, you can’t change the sun rising in the East and going down in the west, and you can’t get me to see my parents, siblings or my savior then I really don’t care about your judgement! Do you beautiful and as long as it brings you joy that’s all that matters. Just imagine I just started my 60th chapter so you know I don’t care. 😘

Anyone who has a problem with the amount of fragrances you have really just don’t get it. Scent is a love for sensory. I don’t understand how it is even an issue. Also it actually really a talent to be able to understand your senses. Collecting scents isn’t odd whatsoever, it’s actually normal in my opinion. Smelling certain notes are so therapeutic. I loved this video by the way. I don’t consider myself a collector at all and I have around 80 fragrances, it’s very easy to accumulate different fragrances over the years. Can’t wait for part 2 :) ❤️ btw I’m a new viewer and I just wanted to say you remind me of Jennifer Lopez

This is true organizing: the concept; the struggle to create categories; the process of deciding which goes best where; what to contain it in/how to order the category, etc. And the fact you didn’t chop out any of your original thoughts, plans, concerns, doubts, decisions makes it immensely valuable!!! Great start, Veronica! 👏🏻 I use hanging, double-sided (80 pockets) jewelry organizers (+ label maker) to store fragrance samples/decants. Saves space and keeps those little vials organized and easily found in my closet. Just a tip for anyone drowning in samples, which I like to hang on to for reference/comparisons. 😊

Just an idea: what about creating a rotating collection like in Museums. Some museum rotate their art pieces because they don't have enough space to show them all at the same time. it would force you to focus on things you never reach for or forgot you had...

You are brave for doing this on camera. I was getting anxiety for you. Just the thought of having to dust all the little bottles...that's why I hide my modest collection in a bathroom vanity and a drawer in my bedroom. Omg I so relate! I spent much of the pandemic doing this very task. I would recommend some acrylic risers or risers of some sort. They will elevate the bottles from the back to the front, making them easier to see (and ultimately, USE!) It may also help to combine your desire for aesthetic and function. That "dead" space between the shelves would get some use and you can really highlight some of the bottles. Thank you for doing this video.

Hello there. I just Google how to organize my perfumes and found you. I have 4 drawers of perfumes. I wouldn't worry about what people think or say. We all have different collections just like you said. I love perfumes and I just don't wear one fragrance just like we don't wear same clothes. Some people go through their perfumes so fast because they shower themselves. Mine lasts forever cause I don't spray more than 3 sprays. I know women have 100 pairs of shoes, even men. I am with you girl.

Please never take it personal when people say "Why do you have to have SOOOO many fragrances?" Soooo many people benefit from your huge collection. We DON'T have to buy as much because you did it for us :) Period. Thank you for having such a huge collection so we don't have to :)

Well, since you read my comment I have one more - I LOVE listening to your videos for so many reasons. But here is at least two :)
1. You are so eloquent and you really work on your narrative. I hate it when people can barely link two words, so difficult to listen, so annoying. It's a music to my ears to listen to some nice vocabulary and pick up a phrase or word for myself. I enjoy your narrative and how descriptive you are
2. I know lately it's been a tendency for short videos on RUclips. I hate that. I love how long your videos are. Please never apologize for how many fragrances you picked or how long the video is. Whoever is annoyed by lengthy videos, they can always stop it. This generation (and I am only 42) is obsessed with everything "fast and furious". There is a place for shorties and a place for nice long conversations, just like you do. Your genre absolutely deserves a place in this universe. There is an audience for this and they are happy with nice and long and chatty videos because it's like having a nice conversation with a good friend :)
3. I like the variety of the fragrances you are including in your videos. And how many. I can always pick at least one that's down my alley. and I don't need 20, I only need maybe one more :)
To be honest, I'm rarely on board with your frag taste but I don't care, I still love listening to your content and I will continue. You are unique and eloquent and I am happy that RUclipsrs like you still create quality content.

Gotta say, I'm exhausted and stressed and it's not my collection and I did nothing but watch a video. The fact that you remember the facts behind all of these bottles is amazing. I have to keep a spreadsheet and I refer to it daily. My collection is in an armoire. I have it separated by note profile that helps me...vanilla, spicy, amber, fruity, floral, woody, gourmand and oud. I have a separate shelf that I keep my monthly scent tray that I rotate scents. I like the idea of shopping my stash every month. It also helps me feel less overwhelmed with the options. Good luck with your reorg.

This was amazing- don’t stress about the videos being long, a lot of us want to watch longer videos! I could definitely relate to all the feelings you were having, it’s really overwhelming! I loved your talk about the judgy attitudes we can get about our collections.. I actually knew someone who collected cars and no one ever said to him- you better drive all those cars right away or they’re going to go bad! 😜 Hahaha and it’s not just collections, people also have expensive hobbies like golf, or travelling, and they don’t get flack for that 🤷🏻♀️ Lol ok I’m going to watch part 2 later today ✌🏼

Oh I love you! I have the same issues with organizing my fragrances. People always ask me how many fragrances I have. My reply is "I don't have a collection darling....I have a museum!" When I switch out my seasonal fragrances, it is like having a floorset in my bedroom! It does get overwhelming. I SO get you!

You have an amazing collection! I just recently finally organized my collection too, I arrange them by brands or by bottle structure….but I play with my collection all the time. I rearrange them, I spend time experimenting on possible layering combos, I spend time just smelling them from the bottle and it makes me happy! I agree with you 100%, “people collect”…we just happen to be collecting precious liquids 😍😍😍

Thanks for the idea, Margaret! 💖 I have the tiered risers in the closet already but they don't work on the glass shelves. They actually take up more room. I do have one on the vintage shelf since there are fewer perfumes up there - the space was less of an issue.

Enjoyed this. I was always drooling over your colour coordinated shelves. But chunking bottles into types is more practical, definitely.
As for length, I don’t know why people get bent out of shape about long videos. We can always pause and watch in segments. As viewers we have total control over our viewing experience. I personally enjoy long vids. 🤓❤️

I love long videos as I watch while doing things in the house and it's like having a friend around. Shorts annoy me, takes too much effort to find, turn on, skip ads, watch 5 min and then start the whole process all over.
One if my favorite things to do is pull ALLLL my fragrances out, go through them box up ones I want to declutter and rearrange them all a different way

I do mine as cold weather vs warm weather, and then my scent style… I have cozy, cold weather vanillas (By the Fireplace is one), and then I have warm weather vanillas (Wish by Lollia).

I also have this mental division of cold vs warm perfumes and it's a very important trait to me. Thick vs airy is another and only then come the notes.

So much fun!! I enjoyed this. I have a huge collection as well and I’m wanting to redo the organization of it. I’m thinking of putting all my “basic B” perfumes in one closet (I work in a hospital and can’t go wild w fragrances 5 days out of the week to my dismay) and all my LOVES and heavy hitters in another closet, so I can enjoy them more. Hey Veronica ! Have you thought about getting 3 tiered acrylic shelves from Amazon to display your fragrances? I put them in my perfume cabinet as way for me to be able to see each perfume that I have. Now, I realize that it may be a tad bit pricey depending on how many shelves/risers you would need. 🥴
Hey Kris! 🥰 Yes, I actually have those inside of the closet but they don't work so well on the glass shelves as they tend to take up a lot of space so I get fewer fragrances on those. Although there is one on the vintage shelf at the top since that group of fragrances is smaller in number. Thanks so much for watching and weighing in! 💖💖💖

When my husband rolls his eyes-I tell him, at least it's not cats (no offence to cat lovers ). If you ever become ocd like me,I guess we could use a spreasheet, then sort, pivot tables...........

This video was great, because it was real. A lot of us get overwhelmed when we try to organize our stuff. Also give yourself the freedom to say, this fragrance is a vanilla (or any other note) even if it only has a touch of vanilla. WHY? Simple because that's how you think of it. It's your collection and your organization ☺️❤

First, nobody should judge you (or me!) for having as many fragrances as we want, if we're able to pay for them! That said, I'll admit I'm hopeless at organizing -- and that extends to the spice cabinet in my kitchen too. But kudos to you for getting a start and having a process. You did inspire me to start virtually organizing my collection. I'm putting them in a table with olfactory category and dominant note. When I'm done, I'll see if it makes sense to group them physically that way. I'm looking forward to part 2 (and 3, 4, 5...) of the reorganization.

Have you thought about a spreadsheet or grid system doc where you can design on your computer which fragrances can be grouped together? Architects do this when they are designing their spaces. I think you want to buy some risers too, so you can see the bottles in the back. 😘
Thank you - great idea! The risers work in the closet (they're in there already) but take up too much room on the glass shelves. Appreciate the ideas! Thanks for watching 💖💖💖
Let me just clarify. You can use these docs as a starting point. You can plot each shelf with an approximate number of spaces where bottles can go (and underestimating is better, so you can squeeze in late finds). This way, you are rearranging and adjusting visually but on your computer so you're not constantly picking up and moving bottles around, which I think sounds exhausting, especially because there will be a sense of pressure knowing there is a pile of bottles sitting on the floor. Just arrange and rearrange on your computer, and then when you have a good plan, you can start moving the bottles. Of course you will be changing your mind some, but at least there will be a sense of control when the bottles are actually being moved around. If not this time, maybe next time you reorganize your perfumes, you can try this.
