Clean and distorted rhythm comparison between Fishman Fluence Modern (ceramic version, active with two voices/modes) and EMG JH "HET" SET (active) James Hetfield (Metallica) signature pickups for electric guitar on the bridge position. Settings are the following:

RECORDING TECHNIQUE:
One centered mono track per pickup.
Same config and EQ for both.

I think the Fishman sounds fuller when playing cleaner in comparison to the Het Set. Also I like having the greater variety of voicing with the Fishman's. All that being said, I own a love playing the Het Set and have for years. But I think its time I need to buy another guitar so I can enjoy the Fishman's as well. You cannot ever have enough guitars. !!!

Het sounds a lot less processed to me, more organic. I also think the Het sounds here would sit better in a mix than the Fishman.

Well, as expected, the Het Set sounds like a real pickup, while the Fishman is just making weird noises. Not my cup of tea.

The Het is good for 1 sound. Metal. I was super excited to try them until they were installed. Unless you want to play metal steer clear of the Het. It doesn't do rock.
