We embarked on a spiritual journey to cover two of the twelve jyotirlingas. This February we made an epic roadtrip of Omkaershwar, Ujjain and Indore. This was our first trip to the state of Madhya Pradesh, and we were honestly very surprised with the natural beauty that this state has to offer!

Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga is one of the twelve major Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva known as Jyotirlingas. It is located on the Mandhata Island in the Narmada River, in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. The temple is situated in the town of Omkareshwar, which derives its name from the temple itself.
The lingam (symbol of Lord Shiva) at Omkareshwar is believed to be self-manifested (svayambhu) and is revered as one of the most sacred sites for Shaivites (devotees of Lord Shiva). The temple complex is not only significant for its religious importance but also for its architectural beauty. It showcases intricate carvings and sculptures that reflect the rich heritage of Indian temple architecture.
Omkareshwar is often visited by pilgrims and tourists seeking spiritual solace as well as those interested in exploring the cultural and historical significance of the site. It holds particular significance during the festival of Maha Shivaratri, when devotees from far and wide gather to offer their prayers to Lord Shiva.

Yes, raaste mein madya pradesh ke side mein ghat road hai. But not steep, easy to drive!
