#CokeStudio #PAKISTAN #YoungStunners
Faisal kapadia was the lead vocalist of 'strings' one of the most iconic bands of south east asia in the 90s and early 2000s
Also they produced 3 seasons of CS. In 2006 my dudes have their song already in spider man 2.
Also in late 2007, Strings signed an agreement with the Gibson Guitar Corporation; they and the Pakistani rock band Jal were the first South Asian bands to have a working relationship with the guitar manufacturer. 🎸
You mentioned the connection between the spiritual and the emotional in Pakistani culture. Actually, it is an essential theme that runs like a thread through the tradition of Islamic spirituality (sufism), which is based on the relation between the human soul (latin: anima) and the divine spirit (latin: spiritus) 'breathed' in humans. The spiritual is the root of the human soul, and the human soul reflects it. The relation between the soul and the spirit is vertical, and that between parts of the soul or two souls is horizontal. This is in fact an essential concept in all authentic religions, and even ancient Greek philosophy, which is rooted in spirituality. In the Islamic tradition we speak of ʿishq-i majāzī (metaphorical love) and ʿishq-i ḥaqīqī (real love). The first refers to earthly love which is a reflection of the higher 'true' love of God, and that's why it is called metaphorical love -- both majāzī and its translation 'metaphor' etymologically mean 'that which carries beyond'.
This reflective interplay of human and spiritual love can be found throughout Islamic spiritual poetry, and it expresses profound meaning, which sometimes takes extensive commentary to disclose. On a more simple level, the common Muslim will always see romantic love as something that is a blessing from God, and so it's not separate from his relation to God. Let me give you two instances of deep poetry. The first is from the sufi (mystic) Jami (d. 1492),
I said to my rose-cheeked lovely, “O you with a rosebud mouth,
Why keep hiding your face, like flirting girls?”
She laughed and said, “Unlike the beauties of your world,
In the veil I’m seen, but without it I’m hidden.”
The second instance will surprise you. It's from the poetry of the leader of the Islamic revolution in Iran, the cleric-mystic Ruhollah Khomeini (d. 1989), who the Western media portrays as a brute fundamentalist:
The Bright Rays of the Sun
by Ruhollah Khomeini
“The meadow lark sings a glad tiding:
the season of Spring has returned.
The season for wine drinking
and for kisses has returned .
At last the time of withering
and melancholy has gone.
The days for a caress
of your sweetheart’s waist have returned.
At last the time of death,
decay and ruin has gone.
Life, with two hundred images and sights
has returned.
The meadow’s wan yellow face
has since packed up and gone.
Rosebuds in the sun’s bright rays
to blossoms have returned.
The cup-bearer, the tavern,
the troubadour, clapping of hands,
And a fancy for the curl of a tress
of a dear one have returned.
If you pass the gate of the seminary
tell the cleric
If he would be taught
the rosy cheeked girl has returned.
Close the shop of asceticism
during this season of joy,
For the strain that the tar plays
has again to our ears returned.”
Great job Brother ❤️
thankyou for this comment bro
A lot of effort towards this comment.
May Allah reward you brother ❤️
Faisal Kapadia is in the game for about 30 years. He produced music for Bollywood and Hollywood too.
He with his band Strings also produced 6 seasons of coke studio Pakistan.
4 seasons*
Hey Efra your pronunciation of the urdu words were spot on. Just FYI there has been a pop song in the 90s from Fakher called Dil Ruba where he did collaboration with a Latino Artist Antonio Segura. Do check it out. Also some of the recent songs with clear Spanish Influence are Jane Bahaaran from Coke Studio Season 10 and Mehbooba from Nescafe Basement Season 5. These are amazing songs and you should definitely react on them.
Was going to mention Faakhir! But yes, all the ones you mentioned..🙌🏼
This song was magnificent on another level as it possibly foreshadows the future of Faisal Kapadia (and his band Strings).
Strings has dominated South Asian music scene for last 30ish years, but the band broke up about 2 years ago. Fans are hopeful of a reunion and this song Phir Milenge (We'll meet again) points to a possible reuniting soon.
Strings was also the producer of Seasons 7 to 12 of Coke Studio. They are the band of the entire millennial generation in Pakistan/India.
They didn't break up the band has been retired.
Faisal kabadia the lead vocalist of Strings Band and music producer of almost 6 cokestudio season 👍
Bro its is "Kapadiya" not kabadia 🙂
Abe kabadi bana dia Faisal ko
Hahaha
The song was mesmerizing from the second it started till the end. The music production platform used many calming yet deep resounding instruments throughout the track, which created a bitter feeling that the season was indeed coming to its end.
The inclusion of an orchestra in the middle of the song was a cherry on top!
Young stunner are the OGs of Pakistani rap plz react to their other popular songs
You guys are really missing out CS14 Behind the scene videos showing how they have made song and what is the concept behind each song. Once you start reviewing them and hear each song along with their BTS. Eventually you will find more sense.
Totally agree. So sad. They are awesome at what they do ( reviews and stuff) but they are missing out so much... Sad....
Guys you must do a reaction on "Peechey Hutt".
I swear it will take you to another world!
You guys are linguistically gifted. You're the only people who have been able to pronounce Pakistani names the closest to the actual ones. And the way you're able to pick up urdu words really well. That's awesome
Guys you should react on mehbooba from Nescafe basement . The drum work is really good on that song
Yes, came to say the same thing. I think they would really enjoy the percussions of Mehbooba, esp the drummer ;)
True he'll love it cuz he loves drums
They did react to it in their live session .And Efra really really loved it .he even left a comment there.
@@sidranoor6331 do you have the link? Or is it gone and only live
@@chilipepper44 only live
You guys should react to “Sab jag soye” by QB and Shuja Haidar from coke studio. It has spanish/latin influence. You’ll love it 😊
Finally! Please also review Gulo Main Rang coke studio and Taalash nescafe basement..plz plz. ❤️❤️
Aima Baig - Te Quiero Mucho - Velo Sound Station
A good effort at Spanish fusion
Please react to "peechay hutt" it's also from coke studio seasion 14😊
I'm sure y'll love it...;)
Your discussion about expression and description of love in Pakistani songs is spot on... there's more a focus on the deep spiritual sort of love and rarely the superficial hookup sort of feeling defined as love
"Who Humsafar tha" By QB is also a good choice to react to.
I was just watching your Pakistani music special pt2 for not the first time lets just say that and was thinking you should react to this song and here it is as I ended watching it yu reacted to it and already in my suggestions, what a treat and exciting. Always love your reactions and break down and v thoughtful words. Cant wait to see more reaction. and hopefully soon Coke Studio pt2 and Pakistan special pt3. take care
P;S: Faisal recently retired from singing with dismantling their band Strings to which u reacted in Pakistan Music special pt2 the first song,he came only back for this song his first solo prformance in terms of outside his band Strings which also produced Coke Studio S07 to S11 only cz CS producer requested him as he wrote composed this song only for Faisal. Also this was a one take video.
amazing!
fantastic lyrics + style/genre combo... unreal!
even more impressive when ppl realize it's all in one take...
also the rap lyrics reference all the big hits/singles of the artists too!
If you react on its magical journey (song documentary) you will get to know so many things.....like it's a one shot video and audio at the same time.
No Efra, It's not annoying!! You vibing to the lyrics is so cool and your pronunciations are always bang on. This one's a special song. It brought an old split band's member (Faisal Kapadia) with the new flourishing rap duo (Young Stunners). Super nostalgic. Put me to tears. The lyrics, the ambiance, the name of the song, it all felt like a legend passing on the baton to the newer generation.
Young stunners are the best Urdu poetic rappers their lyrics and flows are crazy bro
He walk out of the studio because of the last line... He has kept morning/light in heart and there was a dawn outside. 😊
Faisal kapadia is in bussiness since 30 years. His band string in one of the iconic band in south asia. He produced music for bollywood and Hollywood too.
Thank goodddddddd you guys reacted some stuff from Pakistan 😭 please do 2 or 3 videos atleast in a week pleaseeee ❤️
That concept of love comes from Sufism where a lot of times love is love of God...I am not an expert in Sufism so if someone wants to throw more opinion, I welcome it but I think it's that which adds to that ethreal quality of love
Thagyan!! From coke studio 14 is honestly such an amazing song😭the different features, the tone EVERYTHING
Thank you for reacting to this!!! More coke studio please
People actually bonded with this song because CS14 released it as season closure song by saying "Phir milenga" (We shall meet again). The song is mesmerizing because of the way they drop the curtains and said good bye to their fans (especially lyrics). 😊
And Mehbooba by Nescafe ,Peechay Hut by Coke studio 14 ,Muziz Sarif by Coke studio 14
Please also react on "Muaziz Saarif" song of Coke Studio season 14..... Love your knowledge and passion about the music.
Love from Pakistan
Pakistani music is all about lyrics..and since it's a Muslim country that practice monotheism...the concept of oneness of Allah Almighty (GOD)...asking from God , communicating with God, resting matters (pain) to God is often reflected in lyrics... powerful lyrics is what Pakistanis fall for hence strong lyrics
Guys I love your reactions and detailed conversation. There are few songs left to react of this season. I insist you should listen and react to them too. I'm damn sure you guys will love them all. We are anxiously Waiting....
Coke Studio RANG .... Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Amjad Sabri.... please guys....it jas been more than a year of me request ing this particular song

I have seen many reactions on this video, this one is by far the best one out there. You simply nailed the difference between supreme love and materialism. Bravo!!!
I m loving this collaboration 100% 💚🇵🇰
you guys missed the essence of last part...words/lyrics where the song ends is " Subha Rakhi Hai" in literal means dawn/morning... so he walks out of studio endings the song with wordings of having kept a dawn/morning in my heart and there is morning and the song ends... And love your honest reactions guys.... Stay blessed.
The love you were talking about in Pakistani music in called "Ishq". Normally love is called "Muhabbat" but when love is so special that it becomes a spiritual thing it gets called "Ishq".
2:20 when you mentioned Pakistani/Spanish collab I immediately thought of Aima Baig's Te Quero Mucho and I haven't even heard the song aha
omgg!! ived been watching your vid lately even the last year reaction more power to comee mwss
Faisal Kabadia is legend. He is the lead vocalist of strings band. And they have been the producers of coke Studio I think from season 6 onward

That is so Cool.
Pakistan a land of poetry.

Guys i follow these reactions like a ritual! Thank you so much, this is a one shot video and there’s another one with one shot too, please please react to it, it’s Muaziz Saarif, please also react to Neray Neray Vas and Peechay Hutt from this season too! Also, the BTS of these songs are also available with subtitles, they’ll help you understand the every aspect of the song on a deeper level.
you MUST watch it's behind the scenes called Real magic , you'll know about some interesting details and how they made it.
We'll meet again someday as strangers. This line is just so gooood
React to MEHRAM from this season too! The female singer in this song won a grammy !!
I don't know if anyone has already said it but you guys should check out the making theres alot of insight they are a little bit long but worth a watch!

2) Sweet Child of Mine….Nescafe Basement
(original by Guns n Roses)
3) Love me Again..Nescafe basement
(Original by John Newman)

Roxette, Newman and BSb shared these covers on their official pages too THEY ARE THAT GOOD🤗
Muslims ruled Spain for over 800 years and as a result there are a lot of musical instruments and influences in Spanish music from the moors (Muslims).
Back in 2000s when youtube wasnt there our singer Fakhir had a collabration with a hispanic musician. It was called "Dilruba" by Fakhir.
Faisal Kapadia had his song as soundtrack for spider man 2.
Efra you are doing good job. Your Urdu pronunciation was incredible .
Feisal kapadia is from strings the band... legacy of 32 years ... its U2 of sub continent... Feisal produced season 7 to 10 of coke studio
Plz react on Young stunner 🔥 songs They are the OG of Pakistan hip-hop
pakistani coke studio doing wonders since 14 years
It really appreciate the way u explain many things our culture thank you for that 😍
Most amazing thing about this is that it was all recorded one shot audio and video.
The english translation doesn't do justice to the actual lyrics of this song! Oh my god, how do I even begin to explain this to you? You might have to learn the language to fully understand the meaning & the context of the lyrics. It's like poetry. The translation explains the meaning of the words, but you can only experience the true beauty of the poetry in the language it was meant to be read/heard. Truly mesmerising!
You should def see the making of this video! Highly recommend
You guys are going to galvanize eastern and the western music together. That sounds awesome what you guys have been doing.

This lady is good at words, interpretations.
Thank u guys, u finally reacted on a masterpiece...
You have already watched Faisal Kapadia in one your Feature Fridays (the band Strings). Strings have produced some of the Coke Studio seasons as well.
And you have watched Talha Anjum from Young Stunners in 'Yeh Dunya' from Coke Studio season 14.
About Pakistani collabs with/influenced by latino/hispanic genres you should look into one of the iconic songs for 90's kids by Faakhir called 'Dilruba'.
And also the remake/cover of artist Haroon's song 'Mehbooba' in Nescafe Basement season 5.
