At first I wonder why there were so many unnecessary cuts, especially when the actor, for example Jet Li knows how to use the meteor hammer. But then I realized, unlike sword or staff, you can't really slow down or stop the hit mid flight. And no matter how soft the meteor ball, at that kind of velocity, the kinetic energy it produced would probably shatter skulls and bones. +Arthur Stanley Definitely. You often see neck wraps in Rope Dart Wushu performances. The rope only wraps around the neck once, then it unwraps, either by reversing the spin direction or turning your body 180 degrees.
+Arthur Stanley The safest and simplest neck wraps don't wrap around entirely, only halfway. It's a quick and deceptive technique that isn't dangerous to the user. The rope is held in place around the throat with one hand, but is actually entirely behind your neck.

The chain and curved blade from Ninja Assassin is probably the worst type of rope dart to use as the chain will hurt your hands and the blade is too difficult to aim or control. You might also have luck on eBay or AliExpress. If you want to make a dart to practice with, a sock full of beans or a dog toy on a rope is a good place to start.
If you want the physics: The centripetal forces involved allows them to be shot out faster than a human can throw, (similar to how a sling allows people to throw rocks father and harder). This is usually achieved by tightening their spun rotational circle using quick contact with a limb (particularly in foot and elbow shots). The construction of the weapons themselves mean that darts (which are usually front-heavy) are excellent at shooting out straight for piercing injuries, whereas hammers can cause bludgeoning and concussive trauma by being swung at the opponent as well as being shot out.
@@acidblood13 no cap I was genuinely curious and wasn't expecting a serious reply so I'm shook rn LOL. Thank you so much!! That's so cool though - I had a feeling about the centripetal force, but I was more curious on how it works when they wrap the rope around their bodies. I saw a couple of videos explaining how it worked but for example the Jackie Chan one really fucked me up :0
@@sarausa00 No problem :D Yeah, the trick about wrapping the body is simple: if you wrap the rope around yourself, wrap it back in the opposite direction (Jackie does this by spinning his body, rather than moving the rope). This means you now have a rope that is folded around you, not wrapped around you. If you hold onto the folded part (or parts, Jackie does a few folds because his rope is super long) it looks like you're tangled, but the rope isn't really wrapping you. Then when you throw the dart head and let go of the fold, it will snap out to full length because nothing is in the way of the rope. Sorry, difficult to explain, but easy to demonstrate. Fold a string in half, wrap it folded around your wrist, then pull on one single end, the folded loop should travel around your wrist unobstructed. It's kind of like that.

It’s so cool how the women fight as equals with the men in Eastern movies!! 🤜💥🤛
Go to the east, I guarantee they aren't treated as equals.
Yo.......... what are the physics behind rope darts/meteor hammers.......
If you want the physics:
The centripetal forces involved allows them to be shot out faster than a human can throw, (similar to how a sling allows people to throw rocks father and harder).
I saw a couple of videos explaining how it worked but for example the Jackie Chan one really fucked me up :0
@@sarausa00 No problem :D
Yeah, the trick about wrapping the body is simple: if you wrap the rope around yourself, wrap it back in the opposite direction (Jackie does this by spinning his body, rather than moving the rope).
A Japanese samurai movie about young prince escaping with few samurai and a munk with rope dart. I dont know the name of movie.
No Fred using harness safety hook Scooby Doo 2?
The "get over here" is strong on these ones
thanks
Fight Scenes with Various LIFE DESIGN Characters in a Short Montage....with also some scenes for DEMONSTRATION MODE....for a short display of what the characters are capable of....
I feel like the rope dart is the most versatile weapon cus you can both hit and grab/wrap stuff with it
Should repost and add the new MK scene with scorpion in it🤙
Don't worry, I'm hoping to release a new video. There's a whole bunch more clips I can include. ;)
@@acidblood13 Oh hell yeah can't wait! This video was really awesome!
If anyone is good with the rope it’s none other than the legendary man himself Jackie chan 💪🏼🦶🏼✊🏼👊🏼👍🏼🤛🏼🦵🏽
The asian films during the 70s and 80s era is unmatched, I remember going to the local hood video store as a kid with family or who ever and their were always a huge section full of kung fu movies, like a hidden side full off asian kung fu type movies, anime included especially dragonball, it didnt matter, we got about 10-20 tapes everytime, watched the movies then believe we were ninjas and stuff too 😅 these movies actually taught you things
Love all these films although the scene from The Gang Master (1982) always struck me as more chain whip than rope dart / meteor hammer.
I'll never look at a horseshoe the same again. LOL
Jackie Chan version! Best
Davide Cardelli it was the best because he was using it on people who had no idea what that weapon was. The dumbfounded look on their faces is the audience lol
@@youtubecommenter37 Well it was "just a horseshoe on a rope. How dangerous could that be? LOL
@@tenhirankei especially the last scene when he wrapped it around himself. but it's a trick and it can get out in full length.
