This is my 2nd set of sisterlocks, I won’t even get into that. My advice to you or anyone with locks, just natural hair, or just YOU in general, Self Care is the Best Care! That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. I love my locks, I do, I do especially since my 2nd Loctician restored my faith, I cannot let anyone have that much control over my life, I have to be self sufficient & times like this Quarantine proves it

Thank you for this video. I’m in the same dilemma. I was due for a retie this coming Saturday. I live in the UK and most businesses are closed here as well. I have ordered some tools from Amazon and I will just have to do it myself because I don’t see things changing anytime soon. I wish everyone the best. Take care of yourselves. Please stay safe, healthy and take social distancing seriously.

Magiri Kamau Hi I’m going through the same thing also did you ask your loctician for your pattern type rotation?

Girl I FEEL this. Of course our hair isn't the most important thing right now, but even as someone who has been locked for a year and a half, I'm still concerned about the health of my locs... I was scheduled for a retire this Saturday, but yesterday my loctician informed me that she won't be taking clients until at least April 20.
Like you, I'm considering doing my own re-tie, which I'd wanted to learn to do eventually but didn't ever expect it'd be under circumstances like this. The rona's really switching EVERYTHING up!

Girl I’m CONCERNED. I feel like doing our own reties is necessary for the health of our locs.. but it’s SO risky because we could mess up our grids and/or cause breakage. This just sucks lol.
I’m sorry to hear you’re in the same boat. ☹️🧡

I can’t relate my twin does my hair and I do hers. Self retightening can help. But for now I can only suggest braiding and banding for now until hopefully this is all behind us. You can also go online to the sisterlocks ™️ website and take the retightening course online.

I don't have my sisterlocks as of yet and my establishment was cancelled until further notice. This was a concern that I had as well...besides the corna virus what happens if I can't find a consultant or I'm in a position where I can't get them done. I've read many instances where consultants move, they no longer establish women with longer hair or they are no longer wish to be a consultant. It makes me nervous to feel that getting sisterlocks could place me in a vulnerable spot and that's why I've considered simply micro interlocks. At least then I could do them myself. I feel your pain and I'm not sure that any of the interlocking tools online will work with sisterlocks because they use a specific tool that only consultants have. My only thought that I want to share is maybe take the course they have in place for you to learn how to do them yourself. I believe the last time I looked it cost about 150 dollars. Good luck to you I know you will make the best decision for YOU! By the way has anyone ever told you that you resemble Terry Ellis from En Vouge?

If you can maintain micro locs you can maintain sisterlocs.. it's all the same

@@locdluvit8814 Never said you couldn't maintain them. All I said was she needed the proper tool.

Nette P All interloc tools are basically the same. As long at it’s the right size for your locs, it’ll work. The motion of retightening is the same as any interlock. 2pt, 3pt or 4pt.

@@ellzbellz08 From what I've been told by multiple sisterlock consultants is that only the sisterlock tool should be used on sisterlocks. No other tool should be used. That is how they are trained and that's what any of them will tell you. Don't shoot the messenger.

Nette P 😂 Of course they’ll say that. It’s an overpriced cult hair club. Too many people DIYing or doing the same thing for a fraction of the price. No regular person is going to know the difference.
