Your work in reclaiming these 78's is remarkable!! I have enjoyed many recordings, of the style and age you present, NEVER before have I heard the level of both noise reduction and unobstructed sound quality you achieve!! I've been listening to recording such as these for nearly 70 years and have never heard the like. I play your offerings on good equipment, electrostatic speakers and so on, so your work is well appreciated, THANK YOU!

While everyone was debating between Paul Whiteman and Don Redman, I think we can safely declare Jack Crawford to be the largest bandleader of the 20s and 30s...until Tiny Hill came around, at least.

Again, thanks! My last note to you about being near St.Louis and offering 78’s to you was that I’m always willing to share my collection for recording so all can enjoy this music! My 12 year old would disown me if I got rid of my collection!!! Let me know if you need any photos of the bands of the 20’s and 30’s

"Hurricane" starts at 21:08, btw... I have a Victor TP of it that says "unissued." Was it ever issued or is this version another test pressing transfer? It's the exact same take.

"Hurricane" was never issued even though Victor made a master of the 2nd take and "held" the third take. No proper explanation as to why it was never issued. Crawford's Orchestra attempted three titles that day (September 27, 1927), of which only "Baltimore" was issued. The third title was "Give Me A Night in June," but - unlike the unissued takes of "Hurricane" - the Victor engineers destroyed all three takes of that title. All told, Crawford's band was only recorded a handful of times in 1927, then nothing. Of the 10 titles they attempted, only six were issued (with the unissued "Hurricane" master discovered much later). "Swanee Shore" was very popular - it remained in the Victor catalog until 1934. A shame we only have the seven extant records - it's a very lively, excellent band.

Hi Prozoot! I want to apologize for my yesterdays comments in earlier videos you have been pulblishing. It was definitly not my intention to bother you. And yes... I know Andreas Schmauder. Many, many years ago I bought from him records when he was located in Freiburg. I will try to contact him. And yes.... it is not my intention to pass within the next future. But who knows. God only. All my best regards to you. AND: keep swinging :-)

Andreas, ....your comments are always appreciated and very welcomed -- no need to apologize for anything. I wish I could give you better advice for placement of your records -- the new group of collectors is not as acquisitive as us old-timers. Thank you again for the kind words. ....Roger
