The scene between Arizona and Meredith is actually one of my favorite scenes from the show. The two of them hardly ever talk, you almost forget that they are the last two left at the hospital who went through this horrifying thing together, but i love that they automatically looked for each other instead of just thinking about themselves.
I love this scene. it's so weird that she would look for Arizona cause they never bonded on the show. I also like when Christina speaks to Arizona and says whenever she thinks of the crash she hears Arizona screaming and that stuck with her the most. I don't think Arizona bonded with the dark twisted sister's before because she was always so happy and playful. After the plane crash she suffered the most with PTSD and her personality changed the most. but that's what I love about Arizona. She's most complexed character.

The way Meredith’s eyes become distant and unfocused during the flashbacks and the way Arizona is practically shaking makes me want to cry and hug them

Lexie and Mark died in the crash/right after, Christina is gone and Derek died too😳 I also never realised how horrible it must have been for Owen when their plane crashed. He kept saying "I put them on that plane" but I only realised that that's also what he said about Megan! "I put her on that chopper" It must have been so horrible going through that twice!

I really LOVE this scene so much. I've always wanted Meredith and Arizona to be friends, but they never even talk with each other and in this part you can see that despite everything, they have something that bonded them for life. AND also I've always loved Alex and Arizona's relationship, I love how Alex cares so much for her. He's such a good person.
They are still friends, it's just that they are not so close. But you can see their closeness, whenever they are taking each other's child or when meredith was hospitalized.
I’ve seen people go into panic attacks and can I just say that Ellen’s acting is on point. The way she was walking when she was trying to find Arizona, how she was stiff and trying to control her breathing is so accurate. I was especially impressed when she closed the door after not finding Arizona. Her posture was so tense and the way she moved when other people were trying to get pass her was so realistic. I don’t know why I’m so focused on her acting but i think if Meredith didn’t find Arizona in that closet she would’ve had a full blown panic attack inside there.
I love how arizona and Merideth have different panic attacks like when Grey has a flashback she become distant and almost dissociated while robbins has heavily breathing and visibly panic and when walking grey is still and almost on auto pilot with her steps. Both there acting is incredible in this scene and it goes to show not all panic/anxiety attacks are the same
The aftermath of the plane crash was why Arizona hated Callie so much. Callie made the call to cut off Arizona's leg to save her life. I think that is why she couldn't be there for Arizona in this scene. There were to many bad memories from that time and they have been divorced for a long time now. Also I think Callie probably thought that Arizona would not want to see her right now.
She made the decision to amputate and then inserted herself into Arizona's grief. The calzona relationship was doomed from the moment the leg came off. They were always on rocky ground anyway because even in the early part of their relationship, they disagreed on fundamental issues but kept trying so hard to be together, but the leg was the biggest crack in their relationship and it snowballed from there. Leg gone, arizona's resentment, mark dies, arizona cheats, separation, try again, doesn't work, couples therapy, divorce, custody battle, it's over. Really loved callie torres though. Wish she'd make a cameo in a few years. Maybe if something happens with Sofia.
I think Mark dying was what caused the relationship to break apart. Like Derek and Meredith, she had Cristina and when she went away it all started to break up.
Many of the actors on greys anatomy should get together to teach an acting class about appropriately conveying both personal trauma and post traumatic stress disorder. They are practically experts.
During this plane crash , Mer knew something was wrong with Derek she felt it but she couldn't Explain, and when she went home only for the police to knock on the door that Derek had been in an accident.
Callie wasn’t “selfish” in this bc the leg and Az’s cheating broke the relationship. i get why Callie didn’t wanna check on her even tho she obvi cared for Az.
Callie Only Saw What She Wanted To See , Maybe If Callie Had Seen How This Affected Arizona Then Maybe She Would Have Understood More . You Only Have To See How Tight Arizona Has Hold Of Meredith,s Hand To See How Distressed Arizona Is .
But Callie can still act entitled and be on the board. She’s so entitled like she was on the plane but now she can’t even be supportive after the fuss she made. She acted like she was on the plane but now it’s ‘not her place’ to be supportive.
When Arizona cheated and Callie tried to understand why she did it and talked about all the things they went through, Arizona lashed out on her yelling "you weren't on the plane" and basically denying the fact that Callie was affected from the crash as well (losing Mark and dealing with Arizona's resentment towards her after cutting off her leg). Callie supported Arizona throughout the healing process and was still there for her when they were apart, but maybe in this episode she thought back to Arizona lashing out on her for involving herself in the crash and decided she wasn't the right person to support Arizona at the moment

How? Because she suffered too. I know that, because I have a son who was in a caraccident, he had a contusio cerebri, braindammage, he had a trauma too, and that make his caracter changed. He couldn't handle it. It was unbearable. And I suffered because of this, so I understand Callie. She was'nt in the plane, like I have'nt had the accident, but she suffered too. She took care of her, took her abuse for over a year, took her cheating, the seperation, and instead of regret her cheating while the temporary seperation, she cheated with Murphy, still Callie took her back, but still Arizona was'nt happy and she herself told Callie that she was killing herself to please Arizona. Then the therapy, all Callie wanted first to leave together, but Arizona wanted to seperate in the beginning, so it is understandable that at some point you must let go. Later Arizona told Kepner that she had the love of her live (Callie), but she screwed it. In season 12 she told a patiënt that she was her ex wife grateful that she made the call to cut off her leg to save her life. But she never told Callie that. Shame.

Callie spent so much of their relationship trying to manage Arizona's emotions, and I think people forget that because all we really saw were the blowup moments when Callie was exhausted with constantly trying to keep her sane and alive. If they had shown more moments where Callie was just trying to take care of Arizona, like she did in the early aftermath of the plane crash, I think people would have better understood how exhausting it is to be a person's only emotional support. And on TOP of that, Arizona was constantly being cruel to Callie and then telling her not to leave after the plane crash. Even if they're friends, Callie does not owe Arizona support on the thing that ended their marriage.

this is scene is true to its core. it shows a real depiction of PTSD and that we are all not immunue to it. It also show common hood & bond.
