I absolutely love this homemade console. It'd be great to see more pictures of it and see how you built it!! My partner and I am thinking about building one. Great piece. Love it!
Until I read the description, I didn't even realize that you were playing this at home. That is quite an impressive device you have built. I wish I could make one.
For construction photos see forum.hauptwerk.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=10878 The central music display is a 26 inch screen, displaying music two sheets at a time as Acrobat pdf documents. Bome's MIDI translator is used to convert a MIDI signal from dedicated page advance and page back thumb and toe pistons, into a keystroke. This launches an Autohotkey script that brings Acrobat into focus and turns the page two pages forward or back.
thanks for the answer..amazing..maybe if you could publish how u did it..i mean..the screen and all.....again...the whole instrument is amazing...congrats
The pipes are real organ pipes, spotted metal (tin and lead alloy) Nicholson and Lord Swell Open Diapason from a redundant organ that was about 100 years old. They would still work if they were blown but in this organ they are purely decorative, covering the front speakers and miscellaneous electronics.
Is there software that also mimics the "cathedral" effect - that special sound formed by the large, open spaces? Otherwise, this is a real triumph, a Cavaille-Coll organ in the next room! Incredible.....seriously, you should market this to those building $40 million mansions with bowling alleys, shopping malls and art studios. An organ like this would be quite the experience.
Amazing... the sound and the virual organ. I also have a project for one, but this is the best i ever seen. Did you built the tubes?.... Congratulations.
Nice, however, I found one annoying mistake. The last tones of the pedal theme at 10:46 should be 16th, not 8th, and they should go together with the right hand.
I absolutely love your playstyle and everything, but one thing about the Toccata, throughout the piece you play the pedal part rhythmically incorrect I think. The second pedal note of the piece is supposed to be almost an upbeat to the third. You play it much slower :)
Gosh!!! There are a lot of envious people here including me!!!! I would like to know how much this cost to make. I WANT ONE, NOW! It is exactly what I need as I have the Salisbury Cathedral sample set and I need 4 manuals, pedal board and touch screens either side and scanned music displayed on a screen that is "turnoverable". Your playing is great, I even liked the fact you had a few itches while playing:-) One thing though, in the Toccata, the pedal rhythm isn't quite right :-( But I'm not complaining. Keep up the good work.
goodchappy I have seen many of your videos and enjoyed them, but I am disappointed here that you had to ruin your praise of this man and his work by saying that his pedal playing was off in the Toccata. REALLY-- you couldn't resist that zing??? I would think that being in church so much, you'd have learned some compassion and kindness, and as a musician you'd have sympathy for the challenge this music presents to an organist.
***** Hello, my comment about the pedal rhythm was a constructive observation. I have had quite a bit of private communication with him and at no point have we had a bad word. I think what he has done here is excellent. I am sure he would take any constructive criticism positively. I also do when someone remarks about my playing especially if they have uploads themselves and they give reason behind their criticism. Sometimes when you learn a piece of music it can be easy to misread the timing of notes or misread the actual notes and get into the habit not realising you are playing it incorrectly. This doesn't matter if you are improvising but when playing as it is written, the aim is to at least get the rhythm and notes as they are written, then just adding your own expression.
goodchappy If you guys are corresponding privately, then you should keep the criticism private. The comments section is a public arena. Was it necessary to point out that this guy made a mistake - publicly? How does this encourage him to post more videos? Did he invite you to criticize him in public? Would you like someone doing that to you? Think about it.
People do criticise me in public and as I said, I don't mind if it is constructive, but annoys me are people that click dislike on videos without saying why they don't like it which I find far more upsetting. However if you read what I put about this particular upload, you will see it was meant constructively and I actually said i.e. "There are a lot of envious people here including me"... "Your playing is great"... "But I'm not complaining. Keep up the good work". Now if that is being rude, they must have changed the meaning of rude. David, I think his name is, actually invited me to visit him, which I have not managed to yet so I don't think he took offense to my comments at all. He is probably having a good laugh at this conversation.
I don't know why you are being so rude to me. There are far more rude and critical people in the world than me and if you knew me personally I think you would now feel very silly indeed. I am wondering if you would have stuck up for me when someone has criticised my playing, if you had I would probably feel sorry for them. I haven't seen any comments on my channel from you supporting me when someone has said far worse than I did on this channel. I can't actually believe I am having to defend myself and without it getting too personal, thanks for making my day even more miserable than it already was with the news that my Dad may not make it out of hospital today having been in there for over 3 months. End of conversation.
Bonza performance. Masterful and most enjoyable. Also impressed with the your organ setup.
Magnífico , muchas gracias.

Organground
It's beautiful and you play beautifully. :')
Aside from that it is VERY well performed

L'interprétation aurait mérité que l'on filme la console et le jeu de l'organiste .... non ?
