I don't understand why my horses yawn when they do. I worked with my horse today and finished a lunging session. I sat with her in the ring just being with her for about 20min. then I took her to the mare camp. she had a drink of water an walked to where I was standing by the gate. I wasn't really doing anything and lightly scratched her face and ears. she yawned like four times. It was weird because I wasnt seriously influencing the horse. Why do you think she did that?

My horse has only yawned twice after a long ride. Could you give me some insight into why she would be doing this?. She has never done it before.
I could make my horse yawn if I yawned. Even if I faked a yawn, she would yawn. Sometimes she would get upset about it and walk away. :-)
