I have had my L4701 HST for two years now. I like that it has no clutch for the PTO and it came with the deluxe 3 point adjustment the pin style not the turnbuckles from the factory. It has been a very useful machine for me I believe it's better then the smaller L series tractors.
Your videos are awesome and I have learned so much in the last year about kubota tractors and others. I really appreciate the detailed information that you have and show hands on. Seeing it done really tells you how they work. I just bought a L3301 and it is awesome!!!
That's a problem now days, electronics. The L series is a straight goods, simple tractor with minimal bells. My 2501 works my 6 acres,i run most all attachments and put it on jobsites also. This is my first hystat tractor, dealer said"You'll never go back to gear drive",Well,he was absolutely correct.Simplicity and no emission nonsense on this machine.
I think I like the open view under the seat. I'm really leaning towards kubota even after so long of avoiding it because the cost, seems like it might be worth it as long as the dealer is good
Love your video. It's kind of funny, but I see a lot of my 1995, B1750 in these tractors. Yeah my B1750 is a more a small garden tractor, but I use it for a lot of things like mowing trails with a 40" mower and splitting wood. The one thing I wonder why Kubota and most other tractor companies don't offer in the states is a 3pt hitch for the front. If I ever buy a new tractor that would be on of the features I'd like to have. When mowing, it's far easier to look forward then over my shoulder. Or like some of the vineyard tractors, the whole operators seat and controls pivot 180deg. Again you watch your mower or cultivator without turning your head. My next project before it gets dark is to finish taking the tracks of my Kubota RTV. and putting the wheels on--it's spring!
I have an L4600 (interim T4 predecessor to this one). Putting the LP RCR-1272 bushhog on the 3pt hitch takes 4 guys and a sledgehammer, the arms just BARELY go wide enough to straddle the pins (thinking about remounting them facing inside), and the fact that it has to go in my barn at an angle makes it a royal bitch to get hooked up. And, when I took delivery, the holes in the fenders didnt line up with the holes in the body, so the dealer just blew off putting all the bolts in. Rattled like crazy. Needs a horn. And some indication when the parking brake is on, other than smoke pouring out. Other than that a pretty nice machine. My old Kubota also had compression release, great for cold weather starting.
I have a b2650 cab and my cousin has the l2501. I have operated both. My b series, with loaded tires and cab can still lift enough to pull the rear end up. I need ballast to get full potential out of the loader. L series feels better balanced with loader work. Also feels noticeably higher seating position. They're the same engine I believe. The L's elcheapo 3point links are no biggy, u can use a quick hitch for almost everything. Both ours are hydro and the L has faster road speed. The L also has a clutch to ingage pto, b does not. There isn't anything 1 will do the other wont. I hate to say but the L feels more like a tractor. Hope this is somewhat helpful.
It's funny I just bought a B2650 and worried I should have sucked it up and spent the few extra bucks on the L series. Not that i dont think my tractor can do the work. I only have only 9 acres but it's hilly and I have alot of rocks. The wider wheel base would probably have helped.
Worked on a blueberry farm the past few summers and they have one of those 4 speed kabotas, I had a lot of fun on that tractor and it was a lot easier to drive around than the old ford/new holland tractor we used, you could let the clutch out quicker and it was just a little faster, but then again I still liked the ford tractor even though I always felt like I was deaf after a shift.
I have had the L4701 DT for a couple of years now. I only have two complaints.. I would like a fifth lower gear on the stick transmission. At 540 RPM, I would like a slower lowest ground speed for tilling. The second thing is that I would like thicker heavier steel in the loader. If you use it like you would use a true utility tractor loader, it is possible to tweak your loader frame.
Despite it being a cheaper design, I really like the layout of my L2501, versus some of the larger kubotas I've used that were more "convenient". And the gear drive transmission works flawlessly for loader work and everything.
I bought the 3301 and never use all of the power. I have the backhoe and run a chipper and 72" mower. The hydraulics howl and are junk but never short on power. The emissions deal is a pain having to run it at high RPM every 15 hours or so and would rather have the 2501 and not have to deal with that.
I agree I just got a new l2501 gear drive r 1 tires and it's awesome I like simple and reliable plenty of power losses traction before running out of power even loaded tires with 3 point ballast the large 100 cubic inch engine is very detuned to avoid a dpf yet builds more torque than most 32ish horse tractors the l2501 is a win win in any configuration
@@jeependous the PTO stops when you press the clutch, ive known this for many tractors, on that model l2501 you would stop and press the clutch to change gears.
I have a 2018 Kubota L4701 2 wheel/ 4 wheel drive with 180 hrs. and it doesn't seem to have the power after I regened it. The tractor will barely move when I put it in forward or reverse. The engine power will increases, but it moves very slow. What do you think is the issue. I've replaced the fuel filter and cleaned the water separator as well as the air filter.

So 99% of all tractor sales are HST??? Where can I verify that statement??? Can you please tell me the life expectancy of a Hydrostatic versus a Shuttle Shift? And what is the cost of replacing a HST vs gear drive clutch? I ask because it has said HST require more RPMs to get the same performance 3-7 years in (depending on usage) from when they are new. Will a owner get the same warranty/replacement support from both transmission types? Is getting someone or self changing out a HST as easy as a Shuttle Shift? Inquiring minds would like these answers. Thanks as always.
Our sales are 99%, the percentage of gear drives are much higher in the southern states. We'd see a modern hydro outlasting a shuttle shift since your not using the clutch for direction changes. If one grenades, the parts cost of a hydro would be higher but a majority of your repair cost is labor which would not be wildly different. Warranty is the same.

Messick Farm Equipment... Im in the market for one and I think many people believe this, however the 3560 not the same as any other -60. Kubota specs suggest that the 3560 grand L has a different size frame, different wheels, tires, hydraulic pump, loader, cylinders, clutch pump flow, hitch catagory, width, ground clearance, length, height, weight, and turning radius, speeds, and wheelbase than all other grand L's. Sounds like you may be doing a lot work at low rpm. My new L3901 finally did its first regen at 51 hrs. I am very seldom below 1800 rpm even just driving it around. I'm an old school farm boy who's used to running old machines like my Oliver 1550 diesel. I was taught to run those just high enough to do the work I needed, unless it was PTO work of course. It took a conscious effort to change my habits, but these new machines with DPT really do better if you keep the rpms up.
I’ve rented both the B3350 and the L2501 multiple times. Used them to do all the regular tasks and run the appropriate sized implements and I think the L definitely feels like a more capable tractor than the B for sure. The B often felt too light when pushing and lifting. However, the 25 horse in the L was a wimp, brush hogging, tilling and blowing snow it was always struggling and bogging down, when the 33 horse in the smaller B3350 would of muscled through with not even a change in exhaust tone. Everyone’s needs are different but in my experience the L is ideal in size and weight and you need something definitely over 25 hp because that was weak as S but less than 33 because that seemed to be more than enough n just a waste. Can I get a L3150 with a cab please?
When I try to change from L to M or to H . It makes a very weird noise like it’s forcing it self. Do I need to keep the revolution in higher . Or should I change gears while turned off ?
@@MessicksEquip I won't deny the specs are close in comparison. But the most important spec aside from weight in haying application is width. The L2501 is narrow compared to the 8n. And the 8n seems lower to the ground. Which also helps hillside stability. Don't get me wrong, I love my L2501. But I wouldn't buy this particular tractor for hay in mind.
Why would you do that when you could buy a Massey Ferguson 240 or get something that's cheap compared to$30,000 or 10000it's cheaper it's more available and I don't have to deal with any of this crap like the emissions box
those first 2 digits DO NOT reflect HP - per kubotas website = L3301 (31.4 HP - Net / 27.7 HP - PTO) L3901 (36.3 HP - Net / 32.1 HP - PTO) L4701 (44.8 HP - Net / 39.3 HP - PTO)
What you just said is a lie the l2501 3301 and 3901 all have the same exact motor nothing different except a couple of shims under the injector pump to derate the 25hp, and also the 33 and 39 have the pollution control crap on them but again you are lieing same motor on all of them
It's unfortunate to call someone out for lying, when 30 seconds on Google would show you that I'm correct. The 2501 is 100 in³ engine, 3301 is 110. They use physically different engines.

Can I get a L3150 with a cab please?
Excellent presentation
It's the L2501 available shuttle?
No
When I try to change from L to M or to H . It makes a very weird noise like it’s forcing it self. Do I need to keep the revolution in higher . Or should I change gears while turned off ?
Unsyncronized gears. Stop and pull, creep forward if it does not drop in.
how much does the average L series cost ? I like MF but i would like to compare price
huge range depending on model and options. Best to check with a dealership.
Where does the L48 fit in?
Not made any longer I assume?
replaced by M59 and then M62. I have videos on it.
Messick's could you comparison with the L4701 and the MX tractors
+David Mayer looks for our l vs mx video
Good video!
What pto attachments can I run on a 2501? I'm looking to purchase one.. I wanna do bush hogging and maybe some haying work.
Most anything that's not super demanding
@@MessicksEquip what's one worth that's a 2016 model with loader and 150 hrs... Around about in clean condition?
Your not going hay anything with a L2501, except tedder.
@@jbaker4900 Hay was made for decades with tractors like an 8N\9N. Its all about picking the right implements.
BRAVO!
What's the deal with not being able to stand without having one heel on the toe of your other foot? Did you know you do that?
Super confused
Why would you do that when you could buy a Massey Ferguson 240 or get something that's cheap compared to$30,000 or 10000it's cheaper it's more available and I don't have to deal with any of this crap like the emissions box
This dude stands like my son when he has to pee real bad
😆
those first 2 digits DO NOT reflect HP - per kubotas website = L3301 (31.4 HP - Net / 27.7 HP - PTO) L3901 (36.3 HP - Net / 32.1 HP - PTO) L4701 (44.8 HP - Net / 39.3 HP - PTO)
Its gross engine HP, not net. You are right though that there are some exceptions and rounding.
2:08- What the hell did he say?? So garbled I couldn't tell what it doesn't have that makes it cheaper.
Diesel particulate filter.
