    I am always mesmerized by your videos - everything is so well organized and tidy and relaxing to watch. Unlike when I make soap. And the music is perfect. The “other attempts” are all beautiful - love the final one, it looked like it had several colors maybe? And agree with the others I have no problem with the orange blob! Thank you for your generosity sharing your expertise.

    Your soap is beautiful! I think like everyone else who did this challenge, even though it required for most of us multiple times trying, every batch of soap we made turned out beautifully even if we didn't get the desired feathering. This technique is really versatile!

    Hi everyone! I hope you're all doing well! ❤️ If you've tried the one pot wonder technique, did you pour your soap into the front, side, or back of the pot/pitcher? I think I like the side the best because it seems to produce more feathering in the soap. I put photos of my other attempts at the end of the video. One of them has an orange blob at the top because my soap thickened on me towards the end of the pour and would not cooperate. LOL

    Thank you for this and all your other videos! Your work is excellent and yes your music and voice are so soothing... My question is whether the oil and water used for the colors are part of the overall oil/water in the recipe. I haven't made my first batch yet, but i have been soaking up all information so i will be as prepared as possible for that first batch :)

    I used a 35% lye solution (water = 1.85 x lye)
    Hello Molly tghank you for sharing your beautiful soap making and recipe. One question...is this the same as water discount? how do you get the 1.85?
    thank you

    • @hollysoapmaking
      @hollysoapmaking  4 года назад

      Yes, a 35% lye solution is considered to be a water discount. A 25% to 28% lye solution is usually considered as full water. However, 31% (water = 2.2 x sodium hydroxide) is the most water I ever use. Here's a great article by Modern Soapmaking that should help, too (scroll down to the part called The Most Common Lye Solution Strengths in Soapmaking) - www.modernsoapmaking.com/lye-solution-in-soapmaking/ Hope this helps! Thank you for watching!

    Again, another fabulous video. I just enjoy watching your work. Such a great learning experience for me. One question though - how in the world do get your edges to look so wonderful???😀 I use a vegetable peeler also BUT my soap edges have dents and are so uneven 😔. Thanks again ❣

    • @hollysoapmaking
      @hollysoapmaking  4 года назад

      Thank you so much and thanks for watching my videos! When I’m trimming a soap for a video, I usually do it when the soap is still soft (since I’m in a hurry), so I do get dents and uneven places sometimes. To avoid them as much as possible, I try not to apply any pressure with the peeler. I think that helps. I just barely let it glide over the soap. I’ve also used my planer to trim the edges (it has a groove for that), and that works well, too. If it’s not a soap I need to photograph immediately, I always let it cure for a bit, and that really makes a difference. Hope this helps! 💕
