The rays is more understandable cause they would want the customers they are losing by going to a smaller venue and the roof getting damaged was unforeseen and etc. Only reason it’s happening with the A’s is cause one thing billionaires will pay out the rear end for and sacrifice money for is to avoid any type of shame as much as possible. Fisher is a clown show owner
Sacramento Resident Yankee fan. I feel for the A's they should have got a new stadium in Oakland. The Lib Mayor was voted out. It's probably too late For the A's. If the A's play at night it cools down on the evening. plus it's a dry heat . They are putting in the lights and new scoreboard. Trying to add maybe another 5k seats. Agreed It sucks for the A's They have a great history in Oakland heck they opened up that ball park when I graduated HS. 1968 Total disrespect to a team with History. Oakland has lost all their teams.
And there are people who actually think the problem with baseball is the owners who spend money to make their teams good. Imagine how fast team owners would make an effort to compete if relegation was brought to MLB. OK Fisher, you want to play in an MILB park? The A's are now a minor league team until they earn their way back to the majors. Every couple seasons, the league should relegate teams that don't reach certain thresholds of competitiveness and payroll. This starts with an expansion adding several new teams. Then a shrinking of the MLB to 24 teams, with a secondary league of 12 teams. Imagine the excitement of expansion drafts really shaking up the league. Imagine having 36 teams drafting each round, this would help make it harder to tank for years and stock up the farm. Doing this would get teams to cities that deserve one, without weakening the league. We could have teams in Montreal, Portland, Oakland gets a team back, what about a city like Louisville that has had a baseball.connection for just about the entire history of the sport without having a major league team and then you could have a team maybe in Oklahoma, or Utah. Help bring more baseball to the Midwest.
It's an interesting pov, but as a soccer fan I'll tell you that relegation damages the long term as you only see the same teams winning championship as the small market teams are focused on not relevat
Absolute disgrace what John Fisher has done to the A's an absolute disgrace for the whole league.
If either team the As or Rays make the playoffs that will be interesting. Cant have playoff games being played in 10,000 seat ballparks.
they've already said they wont play playoffs in Sacramento. it'll likely be in SF.
It is very embarrassing

The so-called owner of the A’s should sell the team. What a disgrace.
The As should keep the team in Sacramento.
True
Wahhh!😭
Why wasn't there a new stadium built in Oakland so it would have been ready for the As to play .
Ah, but Manfred’s a genius. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🙄

I feel for Oakland
38 fans in a horrible stadium in oakland is also a bad optic
Sounds like a John fisher problem
Well what do expect from a lousy bum commissioner Rob Manfred who thinks the World Series trophy is just a piece of metal?? Pathetic.
