Looks like you will have to do an update video on your Hammer 3 ball arsenal, a series of videos I liked a lot. I would like to see that comparison video with the purple Hammer also one comparing the 2.0 VS 3.0 Black Widows.
I'm glad to hear you are going to do a future comparison video with the original. If there was one that needed to be done it's this! Put the arguments to bed because this is just every bit as good as the original. Keep making great content.
I hope your comparison video is sooner vs later. After watching your purple pearl video, I was sold on getting the purple before inventory dried up. Thanks in advance for your reviews.
@@onions86 The only thing that I am concerned with is that the new Scorpion Low Flair is going to shape exactly like my Scorpion Hybrid with several games on it. I could get my Hybrid resurfaced but right now I can throw it up 5 and I don't have many other options to play that straight. When it was new I would stand on 25 - 30 and throw around 15 down to 5-7 breakpoint. *I say "concerned" because if it's going to be the same shape I am currently getting then I can't justify buying it even though I would love to add a new ball to my collection lol.
@@shanebreezy4453 No, I think that he wants one with the Gas Mask Core which is why he referred to it as Black Widow 78D. It would not be the same ball as this one.
Out of all my urethane balls the one I threw the most is the faball enterprise blue pearl hammer urethane and I know I can have it 240 grit or lower or have it polished same out of box and point the ball at the 2 pin and it will hook enough to hit the pocket and when the lanes are toasted very badly like 4 leftys using the same line . She was my goat . Now I use the older version of the magenta urethane hammer from overseas and love it at 500 grit on wood and 360 grit on synthetic lanes.
I still occasionally use the old pink hammer. My favorite ball of all! Used it for my first 300 in 1996. Over 790 three times, but never 800. With minimal oil it hits HARD
Hey Brunswick, Them racks sure give you an open 1-3 pocket. So if you always used the offset pocket, that would tip your percentage of solid 8 leaves toward 0 %. Then you would be perfect!
Thanks for the review. Looks as expected. Grabbing the lane a bit less than the purple due to the hardness. waiting for the comparison. (i bet you'll have the same shirt on for that video :P )
Shout out to Nick for another great video! I do have a question, more so a comparison question. How would this ball compare to the pink widow? Both have similar numbers in terms of rg and diff, as well as finish. This ball is 500, with the pink widow being 360/800. I got the pink widow to go along with my purple hammer and I still don’t know how to properly use it. Can you do a video where you compared all three, the purple, pink widow and this ball. I am really curious to see what difference (if any) there may be between those two particular balls.
Pink Widow Urethane numbers are not close at all. It’s low RG, high differential as opposed to high RG and low differential with the Black Pearl. It’s much earlier. I had more success playing much further right with it and a lot of speed. It set up too early compared to Purple even, and the Black is a few boards less than Purple even.
What about the tip that ctd recommends really scuffing it up with below 360 grit, using the resurfacing pad. It adds a few boards of wiggle room & makes it consistently shape.
I've never rolled a urethane ball. I'm a stroker with 11mph speed. I get along better with symmetric than asymmetrical. My pro shop says that I don't want a urethane ball. What say you.
I am a stroker as well and my purple hammers are my my go to balls. I used to primarily only buy Storm or Roto Grip pearl reactive balls, but these urethane balls by Hammer are something special. Go get one!
I'm waiting for my NU Blue to be punched up and ready to go and now this!? Man, Hammer fans are getting spoiled! I do have a request in regards to the comparison video vs the Purple...do you have a Black Urethane by any chance? If so, that would be awesome to throw into the mix, too...just for fun!
Wonderful ball! I think the PBA cut its own throat. With the introduction of the new hardness rule, I expect to actually see even 'more' urethane being used now. These more controlled urethane balls will allow the strokers to go right at them where they could not with the softer urethanes and the high rev bowlers will have even more control on tricky patterns. Thank you PBA and welcome all to the 80's again.
Isn’t this basically an IQ 78u? Definitely not like the purple! This is still super cool and I will be picking this up to stay on the right side during tournaments
