100 bits to change games. So, a dollar every time someone changes it. I'm only 4 minutes into the game and it's been changed so many times already. Oats making bank!
I get that it's all commercial, Twitch has to make money after all. But this way of interacting with someone playing a game feels very... poisonous. Like, that Ryu guy constantly donating for attention, it's almost (or exactly?) like those faux-porn streams with girls asking for donations. So yea, if I were the streamer, I'd be doing these every single day, given how a specific few people have absolutely no problem throwing away hundreds of dollars per stream, but as a viewing experience, it's weird.

@@MarcusTalks1 Lucrative yes. Borderline annoying to watch as a regular stream however. @@2cents98 I finally got a chance to watch the video. He doesn't do very well in Zero Mission, does he? He grabbed long beam, and then took the path to skip it anyways. I wasn't expecting low% but I still thought he would've shmooved.
The jumpcuts between games makes it feel like an almost 3h long Metroid Mondays compilation! It would be cool to see a supercut with just the SM parts.
Yeah, when he said "Die to Phantoon and you can play again" it kinda bugged me, because that made it clear the only purpose of all that was just to prevent anything from happening. That just sucks the fun out of it, for me.
I now wish I had a desktop so I could manually cut all of the parts of each individual game and splice them into their own segments just to see how chaotic each run would look if it were its own video. But that aside, this video was an absolute rollercoaster of hilarity. Wish I’d watched it live.
As generous as RyuVincent is, the incredible bit spam really just meant Oats couldn't do anything as the games switched 10 times in the span of 3 seconds. Once you take the gimmick that extreme, it made the concept a lot less fun, since there's no sense of good troll timing.
Agreed. Spamming it to force an outcome isn't as entertaining because it turns it into an inevitability. And then still feeling proud when that inevitability happens lol
I do think a cooldown of 5 seconds would’ve been a little better overall-but it might’ve been enough time to avoid dying to Phantoon. I think future shufflers should have a cooldown tho. Even 3 seconds between switches would be decent. Enough time to know what game you’re playing right before you suddenly aren’t anymore.
@@Keiidryn Maybe. I think a progressive cooldown could be good, where the cooldown length starts very short but grows if a bunch of switches are done in short succession. Like 1 sec for first switch, then 2 sec for second switch, up to maybe 5 seconds at max. That would be my suggestion.
@@mklip2001 I actually like that. That feels like a good way to still implement chaos for the viewers but not allow it to just be constant 1s channel flipping with zero progress.
When it starts switching every second you can just see his face start to clench so hard. I'm glad I didn't watch this one at bedtime, I would have laughed my wife awake.
Watching this is like when I watched tv when I was a kid, and I constantly toggle between the only 5 channels we had at the time. Oas lowkey looking like that mem gif of the guy mashing the keyboard while sweating profusely. Also, it would be super cool, if we could watch each run separately to see all the pauses and weird movement.
It is entertaining in the same sense as watching monkeys fling poo at each other. Sure, it is funny for the first minute, but then you realize you actually have brain cells and move on. Finding another way to generate money from his spastic chat audience was brilliant on Oats part though.
Had a potentially cool/stupid idea. What if it was just a Super Metroid shuffler? Like, 4 instances of the original game. Every time that you bounced to a different instance of the game, you had to remember what was going on based on where you were and what items you had. Could be interesting.
I really love this and i am just 25 minutes in to the video so idk if oats explains it but if not: how is he doing it and is there a tutorial somewhere? i would love to try this too :o
Really entertaining idea, but holy crap there should've also been a minimum time set in between switches. The spam bits where each game was essentially locked in place were kinda irritating.
See. The truth is.. Oats had his editor splice together a run of each game by him randomly and he just reacted to the gameplay live as if he was playing. This technology doesn't exist.
I'm surprised at how forgiving fusion is for him. then again, he chose the absolute hardest routes he could have for ZM, and SM... Nestroid is just awful any way you slice it, so it's understandable. There's no control over the route in fusion, so... I guess that's why.

27:03 SA-X menacingly looks at camera as it cuts away.
27:17 SA-X was waiting for its closeup
I was gonna post this same thing. Best moment! xD
its a dang metroid.exe 🤣
Samus suffering from Dementia after the events of Metroid Dread:

Metroid What
Imagine enjoying yourself and then getting NEStroid, oops, no more crouching, angles, or wall jumps
At the rate Oats' chat was going, I'd take NEStroid over ridley tail juggles and phantoon prayge any day

No possible way I die in Ceres, "Game Over" immediately appears. XD
This is the most hilarious video I've seen in a while. Great job, Oats
eating food while watching this is not a good idea
"Can we have time travel?"
"No, we have time travel at home."
*The time travel at home.*
I love how it there were periods of frantic competition for a "gotcha" moment.
You've done some mad things with Metroid before but this takes the cake lmao

Yeah with the title "WR holder BTW" xD
Ryu casually coming in and having a "I want to make you suffer" temper tantrum and ruining the viewing and playing experience entirely
At that point you just start just only playing one game as if it's just laggy and pretty much flip off the audience.

ADHD: The Stream
player brain Cancer: the game
This is disorienting as fuck to watch. It must be hell to play
This is so much more entertaining than I expected it to be!
OATS you need to do Shuffle with the 3 Metroid Prime games with Prime Hack.
Oats, I don't know why you chose to subject yourself to this, but god dammit I will watch and enjoy it!
27:05 best thing I've ever seen 😂😂😂
This looks like torture. Plus with keeping track....
someone should stitch together all the clips of the different games to make a single run of each
Doesn't need to be a shuffler but one day I would love to see Oats run Super castlevania 4 that would be awesome to watch.
When it starts switching every second you can just see his face start to clench so hard. I'm glad I didn't watch this one at bedtime, I would have laughed my wife awake.
Now we all know how Desmond felt in Lost.
I would definitely play this with different games. Seems like fun to me.
Thanks for the vod!

this was so fucking funny so sad i missed this live
21:30 that timing was actually insane
Can we get a splice of all seperate Games once it is done?
25 minutes to get to zebes? Isn't this guy the world record holder or something
This video was absolutely insane.
This was so entertaining to watch live, I can't imagine actually being able to complete this
Legends say Oats is still trying to finish Ceres Station in Super Metroid.
This is such a good idea, 10/10 entertaining
Also, can we get Oats to 50k subs? That’d be amazing

Your wish came true
this is the best idea oas has ever had
Scrambled metroid maraton for the win can this be done with the primes
I want a supercut of just the SM playthru so it looks like Oats has dementia
ok this is unusually fun to watch🤣
this concept could be very cool if door transition is the swapper, would remind me of lttp/sm in a way or those OoT/MM rando
This is like giving multiple TV controllers to a bunch of kids in front of a single TV 😂😂😂❤
ok we're good....ok we're good, ok NOW we're good
I don't know how you do it, Oats. The distraction of a shuffler with all the added AI screaming.
How does this work, exactly? Emulators linked together?
Prob retroarch if I had to guess
Had a potentially cool/stupid idea. What if it was just a Super Metroid shuffler? Like, 4 instances of the original game. Every time that you bounced to a different instance of the game, you had to remember what was going on based on where you were and what items you had. Could be interesting.
Will the Goatster play this on GDQ?
the cuts to metroid were funny as hell
Always thought this would be a cool hack idea. Is there a door rando vrs of this same concept?
This looks like literal toture!!😮
Incredible content 😂
Triple map Rando sounds absolutely absurd.... Triple SM Rando so he gets turbo confused 😂😂
Holy smokes! and I missed this Insanity D:
Someone should make an edit where you see the resulting continuous playthrough for each of the games.
I really love this and i am just 25 minutes in to the video so idk if oats explains it but if not: how is he doing it and is there a tutorial somewhere? i would love to try this too :o
Could you imagine this, but each Rom is Randomized on top of the shuffler being active? Would be bonkers for sure.

"No swaps, wait for intro"

What did he just say
This is so wild
GBA Castlevania shuffler would be fire
id love to do a shuffler for pokemon...now i have another rabbit hole tot go down lol
Watching this is like what All Good Things would have been like if Q had been having a seizure.
Id love a shuffler where every game is castlevania 3
awh man i bet that controller sure was different on SM heh
Next time Metroid Shuffler with Randomizers!
at the end ryu stopped donating and oats still died to ridley and phantoon, guess it didnt really matter in the end
Would Metroid 2 on the Super Gameboy have worked?
Yeah metroid II for the super gameboy advanced 64 sp
Possibly
What does oats mean, "high jump is mandatory" (Zero Mission). Is there a route I'm forgetting about?
Really entertaining idea, but holy crap there should've also been a minimum time set in between switches. The spam bits where each game was essentially locked in place were kinda irritating.
What was the emulator he was using in Super Metroid?
How tf do you do this lol, how to set up?
Is there anyway to play this?

Metroid: Samus Into The Multiverse

Postmortem kill from Ridley.
Samus Returns or AM2R shouldve been in this :P
Ok, so instead of NEStroid, how about we add Contra, DKC2, SMW, and ALTTP?
This but with randomized items xd.
1:19:50 the real fight was with chat along the way 😞
>> changes games very second
that was classy
Serious lack of Metroid II: Return of Samus...
This would be terrible with 3 map randos of Super Metroid switching between each other
Damn.... I missed out on this. :(
I really dont understand why people like ai tts...
This *was* cool... until Ryuvincent decided it needed to be full on unwatchable.
Is this the Bizhawk script?

now add a map rando to the mix.
