      Wonder if deep bore wells in reservoirs could help? Drill the wells with some sort of cap with a valve like an oil well and have periodic releases instead of just wasting it downstream. I know it’s expensive but since when did the government have a problem spending money on stuff that is frivolous and woke, this might actually help. I might be wrong and it might not work because of certain geological conditions just a thought.

    • @bikerktmktm21x
      @bikerktmktm21x Год назад +1

      @@blauer2551 If there is a aquifer below the reservoir, that process will happen natural without any well drilling. Aquifers have what is called a regen zone. That is where runoff and such percolate through the soil and fill aquifers. Most likely a reservoir will not be built in that area because the earth would not be stable enough to support the water weight. If aquifers are within a economical distance, you could design a injection pump to take reservoir water and inject back into groundwater. Las Vegas, NV has this system in place already. roughly 10% of LV water is drawn from ground water. times that the total allotment was not used from the river, that additional amount is pumped into the aquifer. Kind of like a piggy bank for the future needs. The ground water was overcome by the population back in the 1960s. LV would still be about the same size, if not smaller if they did get river rights.

    I sincerely hope that California and all the other western states, have learned from the droughts they have suffered through. I hope they conserve their water resources. And not waste it on frivolous things like fountains, pools, golf courses, and lawns. They can plant Native drought tolerant plants in their yards. They need to save their water for crops. And other food sources. It's hard to feel sorry for drought victims when they're filling up their swimming pool, fountains, or watering acres of lawns on golf courses, and yards.

    • @petercollingwood522

      The most important thing in terms of water conservation is to stop agriculture. Farming in the desert wastes far more water than anything else you've mentinoed. Especially the most stupid examples like pecans and avocados. Pure luxury crops that are the most water wasting of all. IF you're going to farm in the desert at least grow stuff people need. Not what makes money for boutique and vegan restaurants in the suburbs.

      Wow, you two don’t live around here huh? Not too many fountains, lawns, or pools. Mostly agriculture and tourism. Speaking of the agriculture, California grows a large amount of food for the whole nation as well as the rest of the world. The food you eat doesn’t just come from the store,it has to be grown or raised somewhere. While I agree about conserving water, leaving the management of the water supply to people who don’t know what they are doing, or have some other agenda to push isn’t the answer. Get the best qualified people to come up with storage solutions and cut the restrictions where they need to be cut. I kind of get the feeling you two are like the people who move to a place people like and then try to change it to suite themselves and ruin what was once a nice place.

      @@edbrown2061 I'm in Phoenix. Perfectly aware of the reality of unsustainalbe living in the desert. Vast amounts of ag around AZ most of which is dependent on diminishing Colorado river water or a continuously sinking ground water table. And much of it is for non essential products which have nothing to do with needed food. Example for ethanol and Saudi Arabian cattle feed. I'm well aware of Californias importance as a food source for the nation, but there is a huge amount of wasted water going to crops like Pecan's etc which are far more water intensive and of no use whatever other than as as a luxury item.

      They say it will be the first time in 25 years the water will go over the spillway. What does that tell you? Sure there will still be a lot of areas in California that still need water, but it is a big relief with what we are seeing now. It will probably take a few years of wet winters like this for the ground wells to see major improvement.

    And everyone was so concerned about the drout. We always have ups and downs with weather. Some years are better than other years.

      This mentality is exactly why we have droughts in the first place; I see ppl still hosing down their driveways and not turning off the sprinklers when it rains. Agriculture and other industries also use up a lot of water but the drought is still real. Has all the groundwater capacity been replenished? Out of sight; out of mind? Why do ppl all of a sudden believe in the mainstream media when they report we are out of the drought but not when they report that we are in a drought?

      This is not weather...this is LANina and ElNino in action. The last three years was a rare three year LaNinia. Most of the moisture had been directed into SE Asia and causing record flooding while most of the west coast of United States and Mexico was in drought. LaNina and ElNino is global and impacts every country. It is becoming more intense as earth over heats and most of the heat energy is stored in the worlds oceans.

      The climate is changing, it’s a cycle but mostly natural there were large lakes in CA mainly Central Valley, long ago and it may come back.

    It’s a shame we can get all this water feel later as wars but it ain’t gonna matter is Kalifornia sold water ready to a billionaire couple who owns so much water it’s incredible day on the water with a call paper water it’s water that’s on paper that don’t exist but it soon as it does they lay claim to it at anytime they want because they bought and paid for it and the citizens of California are out
