Ninja Dual Beef Joint using the PROBE

  • Sunday roast and for a change we got a large beef joint, which I split to make a beef casserole for the next day. We used to be medium well done beef eaters but have started to realise how delicious medium rare was - however when coming to choosing on the probe function I bottled it and choose Medium. I will say the beef was really lovely, but on the outer edges a bit too Medium, close to well. So next time (it will be a while due to the cost of Beef!) I will definitely pick Medium Rare. The probe function was great as I did have a tendency in the past to overcook beef in the oven - hence not cooking it very often even before the recent price rises became a bit crazy - when will it end?!
    Anyway, 5 delicious Beef roast dinners for under £2 each were made and all were happy and fed...
    Hope you enjoy and thank you for watching

      Aww Anne, that's lovely💕 started about a year ago. Roasts don't tend to get cooked for just one so I offered, esp as I know Valerie mixes up the week with frozen meals and homemade, cooking for 1 is not easy so it seemed natural to offer a roast once a week. She has a spag bol now as well😄

    Put the roast on a plate to catch the juices and use as a gravy base, I’ve had 2 ninjas for a year now and keep a diary based on what failed and what passed as more than acceptable, it’s definitely a learning curve, but always save the juices. 👏👍

So having a choice was my way forward....alas that poor oven is now redundant warms my plates or keeps something warm.....its too sad it's brand new why didmi bother....tbh cooking with the air fryers is a whole lot more easy !

    Looks a lovely roast. I eat beef everyday, occasionally chicken but find chicken doesn’t satiate as much as beef does.

    Try not to pull the probe out by pulling the cable, it will eventually damage the connections. Have you tried using SYNC woth the probe? Many are having issues. Please try and let us know. Thans for a great channel :)

    Hi Kerry, I’ve discovered that you can stop a drawer if you no longer need it on (like you had after your yorkshires finished) by pressing the drawer number and decreasing time down to zero. It stops as it thinks time’s up. Hope this helps. X

      Hi Stephen, sorry for the delay in replying, at the time (about nov last year) lots of people on ninja fb groups were worrying about how the heat 'might' affect their worktops, so as a precautionary measure I got an old baking sheet (it's an old sturdy one from a school kitchen so could take the ninjas weight) and stuck wheels on, its helped move the ninja away from the back wall as there is a double socket behind which I dont want the heat and moisture to affect it, so even thou I'm not sure it would damage the worktop surface, it's been handy for easy maneuverability, just checked fb ninja group and it seems to be a precautionary measure but all agree moving away from the wall. A lot used wooden chopping boards for the ninjs to sit on, I'd add the wheels to that - if you want a link to the wheels, they're still going strong after 6ish months - let me know😀👍

    Hi Kerry. Love your videos. Getting a bit disillusioned with my AF451UK Dual Zone. You recently made shepherd's/cottage pie & used glass ovenware for this. I can't find anything to really fit this air fryer. Lots of foil trays way too small, no Pyrex or other glass dishes, Ninja Kitchen not helpful at all. Happy with how it works for simple dishes but beginning to feel cheated. Before I throw this out of the window, I thought I would seek help.

    • @budgetcookinguk
      @budgetcookinguk  Год назад +1

      Hi Trev, so sorry it's taking an age to reply, how many do you cook for? Re cottage pies, I would use my Tala cake tins in place of glass dishes if you cannot find any (mine were charity shop finds and got lucky, I also would use those takeaway foil containers that you can get pretty cheap in b&m, oh in fact one of those glass dishes is from b&m, it has a plastic clip on lid and cost £5 at the time. I've cooked whole roast dinners (I take out the crisper plate when I put a chicken in) roasties in the other drawer. Happy to help further if needed 👍👍👍

      @@budgetcookinguk Thank you so much for getting back to me Kerry. I only cook for one but my reason for getting the 9.5L Ninja was to forward plan with freezer meals & such (I didn't really intend to throw it out of the window 😉). I will have to expand my search. Thanks again for the reply, I know you are busy. Keep up the great work - I can almost smell the food when it comes out.

    • @budgetcookinguk
      @budgetcookinguk  Год назад

      @@trevm1268 I think you were very prudent to get the 9.5l, as you say good for batch cooking which I love to do too. Roast potatoes do well for that, my xmas roasties are all pre made/frozen. Saves a ton of time and effort and come out delish. Well worth popping to b&m/charity shops (& car boots!) with a bit of paper that's the same size as the crisper plates to measure up potential dishes, the silicon baskets work but can be a bugger to clean😀👍
