2024 Brewster 2 5 L Stock Sunday Qualifier

In this three boat heat (S-6, S-12, S-8) the S-12 Monkey Business is able to leap-frog the Bantam at the entrance of turn two just as the pre-race milling period was ending. Since the Monkey Business is faster than the Bantam, we knew we had our work cut out for us running from lane two.
As expected, the Monkey Business is able to steadily pull away from the Bantam and was cruising to victory, but disaster strikes for the S-12 in turn two on lap three when they hook the boat and it spins out just past the apex. That was just the kind of break we needed and the Bantam is able to slide by just as the S-12 is getting back on the course. Coming from a dead stop was too much to overcome in one lap for the Monkey Business and the Bantam is able to get the victory.
