In case anyone is interested.... the tattoos on his forearms read "the creator is infinite, the creation is infinite, from one infinity came the other but if you subtract infinity from infinity, you still are left with infinity". therefore the infinite lord can create infinite universes, each being infinite in itself. this is from the 5th chapter of the brihadaranyak upnishad. Also, great playing!
Sometimes I think we over-emphasize the importance of interpretation in the composer/composition/interpreter dynamic... and then I hear interpretations like this. Your solo Bach is just on another level!
Hermoso! Desde que escuché tus interpretaciones de Bach quedé maravillado e interesado en la musica barroca, eres una gran inspiración para mí y seguramente para muchos otros músicos. De veras muchas gracias por las grabaciones!!!!
Fantastic! This partita holds a special place in my heart. I studied the lute version in undergrad, and after struggling to play all of the added bass notes on a few of the movements (Loure, I'm looking at you!), my teacher and mentor, Peter Yates, suggested I try the violin version instead. I ended up performing a hybrid of the two versions for my senior recital, which was a lot of fun, but still incredibly difficult! Your performance is stunning, Vijay. I echo the comments below about the ornaments. Just lovely! Thanks for sharing. PS: Your smile at the beginning of the Gavotte en roundeau-I know that feeling all too well. :)
Beautifully performed and refreshing (hard for a piece so well know and played!) I love the nuances and extra ornaments, almost with a Hindustani flavor to them, but at the same time appropriate. Thank you so much 🙏 very inspiring!

that violin plays itself, wonderful
It does try to play itself, but I get in the way.
Splendid! Delightful ornamentation. Such feeling!
Pure joy!
