I just played a game as America. I was two eras ahead of China (I was in the atomic and they were industrial) and they were the second place behind me. I declared war on them to wipe them out. About six turns in to my war with China, Barbs appeared on my mainland (which had NO camps mind you. I scoured my map to make sure)..........with four modern armor and two artillery. How the FOCK are Barbs more advanced than every other Civ?! The AI cheats. No doubt. Eventually killed them, but seriously......that's some BS.
Playing a multiplayer game with my mates at the moment. We've had to team up to take on the barbs cause they have a whole gang of frigates sailing round the ocean. How to barbarians make frigates in a tiny little camp on a desert island? No idea. Makes the whole game an absolute drag and not fun. Civ 5 will always be better.
If you have really low amenities barbs will spawn on your cities. Also barbs are equal to the most advanced civilization so you being in modern age would create modern barbs.
@@travismccool9170 Can't say this wasn't the case. I do try to keep amenities up (and I'm fairly certain I was doing ok in that sense, though it's been a while since I was on that one), but given the war it's entirely possible............. Good point.
Depends on difficulty setting, but I normally go with a builder. I want faster growth of city and production right out the gate. A warrior can always pick up a scout at a village more often than not but to each their own.
What unit/building should I have built first?

That makes sense. Next start I will try builder first then and see how that goes.
You can just disable them like I just did . Annoying hindrances
You say annoying hindrances, I say free troop levels.
@@travismccool9170 ye if you disable them the game gets less interesting fr.
Civ6 sucks
