actually those are not wyrms, when evolved into hydrapple they also evolve to syrpents. (Im not making a pun that's literally the pokedex entry saying syrpent instead of wyrm)

I think the implication is that the apple's infested with wyrms thanks to its sweet syrup. So they're separate wyrms.

Not competitive, but now that I'm runnning The Indigo Disk and it's an "Oops, all Double Battles", I got a Supersweet Syrup with Assault Vest and Draco Meteor, Leaf Storm, Fickle Beam and Pollen Puff. His favorite partner is a Malamar with Contrary and Skill Swap, Hypnosis, Helping Hand and Foul Play.
The main strategy is to swap Contrary into Hydrapple and spam Draco Meteor and Leaf Storm, getting a massive SpA boost. Hypnosis now has a lot more chances of landing due to Supersweet Syrup triggering twice, and Helping Hand and Foul Play are there for support.
It's not 100% optimized or sure-win, but it's fun.

I am now petrified of Hydrapple. A literal tank of a Grass type, and a behemoth of a Dragon. I just hope there is some good way to counter this thing, cuz I haven't found one yet.

It’s extremely weak to ice. It’s also slow so you can expect trick room or defensive Tera. Not impossible to counter.

Yes yes yes I know Quad weak to Ice, then suddenly it becomes Tera Steel or Water or what have you. And I don't want to risk bringing a Trick Room counter for Hydrapple, because I know as soon as I do, Trick Room will deactivate and my slow mon is fodder for a Fickle Beam or Giga Drain, and I'll be back where I started, with one less mon.

I feel like hydrapple would’ve been better in previous formats like regulation 1 or 2. By the time it came out though so many broken Pokémon are here now that it can’t keep up effectively. Although I have seen people run AV on it which has given me trouble in the past I’ve still never lost to hydrapple

Your not supposed used syrup Ability I didn’t know it had Regenerator seems bad in Double it’s so hard to switch in double unless you’re sacking
