In today's Morning Verses With Mike I am sharing Ephesians 2:10 (NLT).

Ephesians 2:10
'For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. '
Ephesians 2:8-9 is a popular passage of Scripture. Often times people will quote those and stop there. Many miss out on Ephesians chapter 2 verse 10 when seeking to understand God's salvation by grace through faith.
It’s an important statement and offers us a look into what God desires for us. We are God’s artwork. We are all crafted, with skills and a divine purpose, by God. We are supposed to use that purpose to lift God up. Specifically, we are "created in Christ Jesus for good works." Good works alone do not give us salvation. Those works, that purpose is meant to move us to salvation.
The end of the verse, “…he planned for us long ago.” God prepared what He wanted us to do for Him long ago. He has already planned what He wants us to do with our lives. We do not need to copy what someone else has done or is doing. We don’t need to question, or toil over the concern of what we think we should be doing. We do this so often.
Each of us has a unique and special plan. Each of us has a purpose to serve with the gifts that God has given us. I heard Oliver Anthony in fact share the other day, that each of us has a thing that we are supposed to be doing to lift Him up above all else.
