Supposedly "original gangster”, can be seen as “old generation", personally viewed as “old-school”.🤓 I’ve been into Korean music since 1998 when I was 15, and using “kpop stan” is more catchy (super cringe or not) than “person who’s listened to Korean music since 1998”, amirite or AMIRITE.😂

I became an avid Korean music aka Kpop listener/lover since 1998. Korean and rap music were my coping mechanisms from the bullying I experienced in middle school through high school and my love for the genre has stuck by me ever since. The genre, along with artists like Michael Jackson, Aaliyah, Britney Spears, etc. then motivated me into becoming a hip-hop/pop dancer, which was a very active lifestyle for me literally throughout my whole 20s. (XTRA DANCE 411- I danced for, trained, and performed with 4 different dance teams. My first and main dance team who started my "dance life" was with Marvelous Motion (who later became IaMmE, America's Best Dance Crew Season 6 Champions). A lot of my dance training came from Di "Moon" Zhang, Brandon "747" Harrell, Emilio Dosal, SOREAL, and from attending many dance classes in Houston and L.A. (from amazing local talent to widely-known talents such as Parris Goebel, Keone Madrid, Kyle Hanagami, Lando Wilkins, Mister Wiggles, Rino Nakasone)
Unfortunately, I took a huge break from Korean music and dance around 2015 when I was officially diagnosed with lupus nephritis, seizures, and a heart murmur. I was receiving and battling years of chemotherapy and dialysis along with taking 32 pills a day, so I had no mental/emotional/spiritual room to keep myself updated with Kpop or dance. Luckily, I'm in remission now. That doesn't mean that lupus and seizures are gone because I am still very capable of frequent flare-ups if I don't take care of myself, but I make sure to do so enough to manage and live as "normally" as possible. I am also not capable of being an active dancer like I used to be due to my chronic illnesses, but I’m still a dancer in my mind, heart, and soul.
ALSO! Just to be SUPER clear- me calling myself an "OG kpop stan" does NOT mean that anyone who's listened to kpop after me is inferior or less-than. A kpop lifestyle is a kpop lifestyle regardless of time. Please don’t get that sh*t twisted.😛 Sooo I am currently and actively keeping a weather eye on the KPOP horizon and also using what I’ve learned from my dance years to give credit where it’s due!

F the ppl saying you’re talking too much. They can easily fast forward. Swipe is so addictive and could’ve easily been the single. The swipe dance move is so simple but catchy. Yuna’s finger rectangle… so good 😊

I think the reason Lia leveled up a lot in terms of dancing is because she gained a lot of muscle mass and core strength. If you compare Lia's physique from last year to this year, she has firmer arms and leg muscles now. She also doesn't get gassed like before. That meant she could go push harder with her dance moves. Amazing growth.

Yeah, as result of the hate, she lose weight, and with that a lot of muscle mass.
She was so skinny. I remember this so clearly cuz was when I get into ITZY.
I really thought that she was the maknae, cuz she was so skinny, and in addition she is the shortest so.
Plus she’s not really into dancing even before she debuted, singing is her principal talent, but then throughout the years that have passed I think her training and hard work are working

She also gain so much confidence you can see in dance practice that she sometimes she hesitate and the members tell her "it's okay you're doing it right be confident" so yeahh definitely she improved
Ryujin Yeji Cheryeong stage presence is crazyyy👀 i tried to look at Lia and Yuna but my eyes keep coming back to three of them.. the charisma and confidence that they have are mind blowing
I personally love the fact you pause it all the time and talk about what bits stand out to you, because it means I can appreciate in in a whole different light
people who simply go "woah thats cool" while watching don't add much in my opinion lol
I really think Ryujin is the best center of a JYP's group so far.

IMO ITZY's "SWIPE" Performance Video (4K) is the best. Outfits, camera work, editing and all that just clicked together. I also find the "Swipe" practice video camera work moves around too much to appreciate the dance routine.

SWIPE is my fav track of ITZY and this dance performance. The outfits, choreo and charisma 🔥🔥 I also love hiphop Yeji. It's her element. She slayed every beat if you'll see the live performance. But, yes all itzy members did a great job. SO TALENTED.
I remember in one of itzy's behind videos for swipe, yeji mentioned that she had to convince herself before dancing that she was a very confident person and can reject people easily. Getting into character before filming 😊

Lia also has anemia which makes her tired and weak easily so she can faint if she goes to hard with the choreography

I never understood why pausing for reaction videos bothers people so much, watch the original then. If your watching someone REACT to a video then you have to accept the commentary/opinions. If your just watching a reaction video not wanting a deeper/in depth opinions then your not gaining anymore content than watching the original. :/

I feel like Chaeryoung is sometimes over looked as a dancer. I think she's even better than her sister in one way. Chaeyeon has the technique perfected no doubt, but I feel like she's almost too technical and perfect sometimes. It shows with her lack of facial expressions when dancing.. Maybe cause she's the older sister and with that comes the responsibility of setting an example, she can't just let go and be silly. Since Chaeryoung can she's able to let the music move her. She's able to sacrifice perfection all the time and just feel the music. Don't get me wrong both types are beautiful and ultimately needed in order to appreciate the other, but in comparison to her sister, Yeji and Ryujin she's overlooked. Her Studio Choom performance had the most feeling and artistry in my opinion.
