Lots of people lost their homes. My dad was out with the helicopter dropping water. He told me the ashes from the fire drop onto the roof of people's houses and catch on fire.

+Sam Saad its a very scary situation out there right now. Even the airport has been evacuated except for the men who fly and fix the helicopters like my father. Apparently they have no way to get food right now because all the general stores have burnt down. So they're surviving off of whatever food there is in the hangers.

Being someone who is actually out here in Alberta and making almost daily trips up to the front lines delivering goods from multiple parts of Alberta I want to say thank you for everything given. I am not a religious man but I will say everything is good to get, whether it be money, supplies or even if all you can give is a prayer, it is appreciated and I as a proud Albertan and thankful for all of the support. Anyone who keeps telling people how they need to stop praying as it doesn't help needs to just but out as well. maybe a prayer is all they can afford or they truly believe it will help and if you ask me the support in itself is what you should be seeing. not the religious connection it has. again. Thank you to Albertans, Canadians and even the rest of the world for the support we have seen. Now I am going to head back up for another delivery.

wildfires move extremely fast. Had a small brush fire at my work and it quickly grew by several acres in mere seconds, almost lost one of the trucks due to rapidly moving flames

Luckily, there didn't appear to be a very strong wind to fuel the flames and make the direction of the fire's progress more unpredictable. Hopefully this one ends quickly and without injury or incident.

I live in westlock it's 3 hrs by drive from Fort mcmurray... even some ashes from the fire came down. it sort of looked like it was snow but it was ashes. it was very little but still scary... some people from Fort mcmurray are here in westlock. they are staying at our arena. hope everyone up north is safe.
