what do you guys think about going lower on the stepside? I kinda like it as is, but also feel like 2 inches lower out back to make it sit level could look even better. I'm so torn
Hey LT, love the content been a fan from when I first saw you on power nation. Would love to pick your brain on some s-body stuff I've been thinking about if you have some spare time. Thanks in advance, either way.
I totally agree with your opinion on the GM OEM take-off wheels. When I got my used 2012 Silverado 1500 4WD Crew Cab LT Z71, it came with brand new take-off Z71 wheels and tires from a 2018 or 2019 LD truck. They make the truck look so much better than the original 2012 wheels. I'm not into aftermarket wheels either.
Referring to your comment on the video about looking the new offset of your new rims, tires flush or a little proud, NOT shallow, I totally, 100% agree. Had the same with my '99 K2500 Suburban. Aftermarket rims helped that and spacers on the rear for now to fix the narrow rear track (you know lol) until I clean and keep the 2005 2500 HD disc brake rear axle I have for it.
Awesome update!!! I like how you just strung everything in there; the wheels, the Burbs new home (I had been waiting for that update), and the best for last A-4 on the step side. I’m going to have to rewatch your old K1500 video again. Thanks LT
I am not a paint and body guy at all,😯 but have seen a couple guy's leave the tire and wheel on and use a bat that's cut down some to do this as it get's bigger as you work out the clearance, or any thing round. just role the truck back and forth using the bat between tire and fender to roll the lip up and out. just cost's some beer for a friend to push.😂 have seen them even widen or flare the weel well/ fender out to gain clearance. Just a thought?????? it worked well even on quarter panel on a car!!!😎
The correct color from SEM is 17113 Classic Coat. I have a gauge pod sprayed in it and it is a direct match. A guy online did his full center console in it and it looks factory. Although it is like $30 a can
I bought those same style 2021 silverado wheels off a buddy of mine for my yukon, I thought they looked horrible on the new silverado but look damn good on the older trucks
Just watched your last short and clicked refresh on your channel 🤣 time to watch! Edit: love the style you have with your Silverados. It perfectly matches what I like. Those wheels you slapped on the stepside from a 14 silverado are also my favorite GM wheel 🙂 great video LT, quality as usual
@@LawrenceTolman my father had a extremely clean 04 extended cab Silverado that he had painted two tone with those wheels on it. I loved the crap out of it but it had 0 get up with 3.42 gears, 4.8 and 265 65 18 tires lol. He just sold it about a month ago. He bought it with 38k miles 6ish years ago
I agree that the wheels you just put on the stepside are some of the best. I have a set on my sclb GMC. They have the polished look on the face and silver flake in the pockets. and with them being wider and taller than my stock 16" wheels, they weigh the exact same!
It is definitely a bummer that the suburban is gone. It is a way better truck than it was when you got it. And those wheels on the flare side change the look completely and it looks great.
I’ve seen videos where you can mount the 20’s from newer trucks which will also allow you to mount the bigger 4 piston calipers and rotors from those same GM trucks which is supposedly all bolt in
I'm also a fan of OEM take off wheels. My 05 Canyon, came with 15 inch rims then I got a set of 17s off an old Lexus. They fit perfectly, can't remember what tires I ran. My 01 Audi has rims off a mk6 Jetta. Only bad part is most people think just because a dealership wants almost $1000 for 1 replacement rim they can get 3000 for a set of 4.
you know what's crazy, I saved a picture from a forum with that part number (17113) on it and that's what I ordered, but never bothered to double check, but they shipped me 15303 instead. I wonder if there was an updated part number or if they have two shades of graphite
Love this channel. Hate burnouts. Love the hi-tech spray booth-looks like the same model as mine. I admire you patience with all those fiddly little interior pieces. Have you considered going to a LA (lowering anonymous) meeting? Keep up the good work.
Love what the OEM upsized wheels do for the stepside. The widened track enhances the appearance, and of course furthers your handling goals. OEM keeps it sleepy which will soon come in handy for the incoming positive manifold pressure 😆
Swapped my center seat in my '04 Suburban with a center seat from a '07-'14 Silverado that has more storage under the seat that is "lockable" and building a custom console that can go between it and the dash for even more storage.
I love the oem+ I love bigger oem wheels especially snowflakes from the gmcs. Love hd front ends. Never liked aftermarket hoods and grills as much so I definitely understand where your coming from. Im loving these builds!
I really enjoy the channel, Thank You for sharing all of this information. Quick question, do you miss not having a lift to work on the trucks with? Have you ever thought of getting one installed at your house?
@@LawrenceTolman bendpak has a “half lift” model that is designed for low ceilings. It doesn’t give you the same height as a standard one, but some is better than none. I don’t know what the actual model name is.
I found the SEM paint to be soft for awhile after painting my console with it. I knocked off quite a bit of it putting the console back in the truck. Hope you didn't have the same problem. Factory wheels are the only way to go...................
Those wheels on that step side, look amazing. And the ugly doesn't look to shabby either, I think just a shorter side wall for it is gonna do wonders! Loving the content, keep it up, please!
Have you seen de-clad GMC 6 spoke 20's? They look like 6-spoke billet sports car wheels, but thick enough in looks and spoke profile to go on a truck. Look em up! Otherwise, they have Centerlines that are pretty damn light, even in 20's. Cosmis Racing also has some cool-looking 20's that fit 6 lug stuff, but they're not quite as light.
I have same truck wich o use daily for work. Never thought about upgrading everything to make it faster after seeing your videos. I had to subscribed and I'm already ordering parts to make it a sport truck as well. What size tires do you have now?
Good video. On the rcsb u might want to look Into making the cv axels slightly negative so on the launch they will be perfectly level. I haven't had any issues with mine yet.
LT, can you tell me if some specific GM seats exist? I'm looking for buckets with armrest, no integrated seatbelt, knob built in to flip forward and preferably non electric?
If you decide to go 2 in lower on the step side are you going to need a c notch? I have the same truck with the same stance and I want to go lower, so hangers is next for me. Love the channel keep up the good work.
I just got my replacement cab bolted onto my 95 Silverado frame this afternoon. Do you have any plans to fab a sheet metal dash for one of these projects? I have 3 GMT400 dashboards and they are all cracked. I don't want to pull another cracked one from a junkyard but I'm not sure if I can make one that will be nice enough for a daily driver. Or maybe just a tutorial on repairing the cracked dashboard? I think the wheels are a good improvement over what you had but feels like a half step in the direction this truck is going.
That was cool, enjoyed seeing new wheels. Gm has some 20, and 22s that I personally would have like to see on your trucks, but it still turned out nice.... would've to see the step side tear it up a bit since the new gears... thanks man
what do you guys think about going lower on the stepside? I kinda like it as is, but also feel like 2 inches lower out back to make it sit level could look even better. I'm so torn
Just base it on how its gonna handle . Already looks good...
I like level.
Drop the back just a touch.
Spindles with torsion bars turned back up should make it ride, handle nice.
2 inches lower would lokk jus right
Keep a 3/4" to 1" rake higher than the front once the cv shafs are level to the ground then adjust tire height for correct wheel well fullness.

SYing that though that’s for graphite. There is actually a somewhat rarer blue interior that I think you have
Ugly truck burnouts are the best part of this channel. I’d love to take a look at your tune file.
well thanks, that means I must do more burnouts lol
I am with you LT on the OEM wheels. They look awesome on both trucks.
Diggin the Cleeter sweatshirt.
Thanks for the shoutout LT!!! Glad you were able to get it to work by painting it, it looks great in there!!! Love the progress on both trucks!!
Thanks again for the hookup on the console!
Love that you’re doing the OEM route. I think I commented that way back when you asked, but I think it ups the cool factor. Great work, LT!!
