Anyone remember the blank land plots in **nearly every town** of the game? I'm pretty sure that in this game, the region moved on with establishing what every other region usually has: Gyms! We'll probably also see things that here optional before have a larger role in the story (like the alternate dimension cosmog). Lastly, with the title "Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon", we'll probably see that Ultra Beast have a really large part of the main story of the game. If you think that I'm on to something, post it on reddit for a larger amount of people to see! BW2 released for the DS when the 3ds was already out. People were mad about it, because they wanted it on the new handheld. But Nintendo knew that putting a direct sequel to Black and White on a whole new system that at the time had just came out and most people didn't have would be fucking stupid. Same thing here.

To me it looks like it seems to give both Solgaleo and Lunala armor and new abilities: Necrozma's arms seems to give Solgaleo wings and gives Lunala arms/claws similar to a wyvern; as well as enhancing their original abilities: They both seem to maintain their respective "Radiant" phases while in "Ultra" fusion. I guess we'll just have to wait until we get more info.
I'm mad hype for Ultra SuMo. Gamefreak always kills it with the sequels; Yellow, Crystal, Emerald, Platinum, and BW2 were all leagues better than their predecessors. Have faith in Gamefreak, I'm sure Ultra SuMo will be no different.

Don't worry, I didn't think the Direct was a failure, and I know I have to be patient for E3, but I just wish this new game had a simultaneous release for both the 3DS and switch. But I am thankful that there are new games. I'm just assuming that they have something even bigger planned for E3, if they're releasing the smaller information right now.

Im hoping for some gen 2 alolan forms since Gold and Silver are coming to the virtual console. Also you know NecroSolgaleo and NecroLunala are gonna have some broken ass abilities I'm betting. Probably something like double psychic so x3 stab, and x4 super effective on fighting and poison but x4 weaknesses to bug, dark, and ghost.

i think it could be a great improvement. so, my whole theory, is that Colress made a cameo in the last game right? what if he plays a bigger part in this game? think about it. in his region, they used the splicers on reshiram and zekrom to fuse with kyurem. what if he brought those splicers over to the alola region to do the exact same thing with solgaleo, lunala and necrozma to create the ultimate eclipse.

Necrozma is a prism. A prism is a transparent optical element with flat, polished surfaces that refract light. Light exiting can be split into a 'rainbow' of colours. Both legendaries are to do with light projection. Both are covered in prisms in this new form and both have a 'rainbow' symbol on their head. This links in with Matsudas "Pokémon rainbow" rather than Hawaii's 'rainbow state'. In reality this all makes so much sense and is a brilliant direction for them to go in!
Johnny Melo You know it was obvious it was going to be in the 3DS, GF have said multiple times that they waiting to see how the switch does, plus this isn't the first time they does it.
There a lot of people complaining about the game itself, there is many people who really hate gen 7, I personally enjoyed the current generation a lot so far, but in the way the platinum and emerald fix a lot of their original games, this will probably be a big improvement.

In Sun and Moon both Solgaleo and Lunala are able to travel to ultra space with little explanation as to how and with the new titles literally having "ultra" in the name shows a very possible deeper story. Maybe an explanation of the connection between the legendaries and ultra space/Necrozma and ultra space or just ultra space itself. We might even get new ultra beasts as well as finally getting some Necrozma back story. Either way I'm hyped.
I bought Moon 2 weeks ago finally, and am 150 hours in. Who the hell is disappointed?? Clearly there was construction in Alola, it was empty in so many place. I wanted to finish off stories off all the great characters, a cast I lived more then any other Pokemon. Think Black/White2! How amazing were they. Literally PACKED with stuff to do. I'm not going to get upset over others opinions, but I CAN NOT wait until November! Better then hearing about a D/P remake, hands down!
I am. Nobody asked GF to relaunch Alola, especially after failing to reinvigorate Kalos with an anticipated Pokemon Z game. And nobody was talking smack about the possibility of 4th Gen remakes. That is, until the worst of so-called fans decided to use this curveball of an announcement to basically condescend and belittle those who preferred Sinnoh or anything else over a watered-down version of BW2. GF's most ardent apologists may contest our sentiments until this rift is resolved (Even though this prospect now seems in doubt), but whether you do is irrelevant because there are actually very sound reasons to be disappointed in them.
Honestly Sun and Moon was fun and all but it did begin to feel stale after some time, but besides that, I'm always hyped for a new Pokémon game when they come out and I'm just hoping it will feature Sinnoh and bring many new features. Finally Lunala is looming absolutely sick (I was gonna buy the solgaleo version of the Alola series but I'm stuck with Lunala)
Here's some food for thought; Notice how Solgaleo and Lunala are in their Radiant Phases, Like how they are when they *spoiler* were in the ultra dimensions when locating Guzma and Lusamine. What if this fusion thing with Necrozma shifts them into this phase, but for dark purposes? Necrozma is a Prism Pokemon, which refracts light, so what if it's changing their light (their phases) in some way? maybe making it so those phases can be used during battle as well as some sort of plot point is what comes to mind to me. Thoughts and opinions?
I'm going to keep an open mind of these games and actually wait for more information to come out, before pre-ordering this. More Alolan forms please!! :)
Things they can do that would blow my mind: 1] Swap out Alolan Forms for Delta Species, so they can be in all regions. 2] Kanto post-game where we go find Lillie.

kurosakiriku Not really, I own the New 3ds and Moon runs just fine to me. Even in double battles online it runs well for me. Also at least they are putting everything they have into the games instead of making the games underpowered.
111hudson Maybe if they removed the trainers from battle, it would run better as there will be way fewer polygons for the system to render. Or if you want them to remain, only show them from certain angles so that more than 4 models aren't on screen at any one time (or three for a totem battle as the totem aura should count as a separate model). I believe this would drastically improve the frame rate for double battles and battle royals as those had 8 rendered, animated models on screen at the same time along with rendering the moves for the battle.
They're practically the same thing, aside from the addition of Totem pokemon. You go through some puzzles, battle the Captain, then you meet the big, bad pokemon of the group (the Totem.)

I'm putting a safe bet by saying that these formes will be called their ultra forms, in which the legendary pokemon embrace their ultrabeast origins by taking in Necrozma. It also fits with the game names "Ultra Sun" and "Ultra Moon".
Did alola get stale? Yes. Did I dislike alola? Absolutely not. The story is great. It had challenging parts. I like a good amount of he pokemon (araquanid, toucannon, bewear, lycanroc). I think it could be a great jumping off point to an expanded world in Ultra sun and moon.
The fact the story is alternative gives me goosebumps! Imagine the whole story is inverted where Lusamine is not a Villain, Guzma is a Trial Captain, Lily and Gladion live happily with their mother, where you can walk with your Pokemon... IMAGINE THE POSSIBILITIES!!! We know the mechanics, the story is the main seller here!

I think the alternate colours for Lunala and Solgaleo are the colours from when they take you the Ultra Space from. Probably something to do with the whole fact that Cosmog is an ultra beast or something...
As someone who was PRAYING for Gen 4 remakes, I am rather excited for theses games. The Black and White series is one of my favorites, and I'm eager to see what they do with these games. C:

I feel like this is their opportunity to put in things they didn't have time for in the last game. And it makes me think kalos was their big 'mistake' as XY never got an 'improved' version. Things I'm hoping they put in the game: -use for the walking animations that were found in the files -the empty plots of land around the region -power plant (unlike kalos) -water arcanine (i know it's probably never gonna happen) -more post game (mini game areas, battle frontier, etc) -Golf course exploration -ability to sit down anywhere -difficulty option like BW2
If they make a lot of improvements to the game in addition to new features then I could be excited for that. Like maybe add an endgame feature where for certain things like battle tree and online battling you can go to a certain building in the game and design a rental team from scratch. They could always make it lore-friendly by making it feel like the random rental tournament Ash went through, only in this game you can request certain rentals like in the old Pokemon Stadium games... except you can also request the exact stat distributions, items, natures, etc. too. Then when you're done "constructing" the request you are given an in-game item/code to select whenever you're in one of the certain endgame areas to receive the rental team. Of course, breeding would still be a thing because you need your own pokemon to prove yourself and to fight for you in the region's pokemon league, etc. People will still want to breed their favorites to bring around with them on their travels and defend their champion status. The rental thing could be an endgame unlock that doesn't interfere with the game's story. Perhaps they could even make it so you have to unlock pokedex entries to request each type of pokemon to keep the trading aspect of the game alive. Personally, I would love to have a villain team that isn't dissolved by the end of the game. Part of why the TV series is so great is that Team Rocket is always around the corner. If they could add random enemy encounters like they kinda had in the main hub city in pokemon X & Y then I think the game would feel a little more interesting even after you had already beaten it.
All me and my friend who watched Direct did was shout and swear about our disappointment. Then there was 5 seconds of silence and then I said "I'll still buy it though" and she agreed. Then the laughter began as we realised that every other pokemon fan probably did the same thing
That Lycanroc cutscene looked exactly like the cutscenes before a Totem Pokémon appears. The same goes for Togedemaru. So I'd expect them to be Totem Pokémon this time around.
As a main series game, I really like Sun and Moon. I like it's story, I like the characters, I like the region and I especially like music. The postgame sucks, but really I don't do that for most Pokemon games anyway, save for Gen 2. The Pokemon sucked but I filled my team with Pokemon from every region + my starter/Wishiwashi on my first play through so I was fine. I think some changes USUM could have is to not be so linear. That's really my only main problem with it along with the choppy frame rate.
B2W2 were still solid games in their own right, even if the story fell a little flat, but they added so many cool things to make them more interesting like the White Tree Hollow and PWT. SuMo needed a little more besides the battle tree so I'm guessing they're just gonna fix some of their mistakes with this one.
It's also missing Fire Red and Leaf Green, but I still think it's Game Freak's message to the masses that we either aren't ready for gen 4 remakes or they just don't have them now, or even that it's a surprise and it's coming soon? Whatever it is, it's there
Think about this, we get to fight ourselves. If we are playing as new protagonists, there will be a new Pokemon league in place, and our characters from Sun and Moon will be the champions in the next game

Im hoping for some gen 2 alolan forms since Gold and Silver are coming to the virtual console. Also you know NecroSolgaleo and NecroLunala are gonna have some broken ass abilities I'm betting. Probably something like double psychic so x3 stab, and x4 super effective on fighting and poison but x4 weaknesses to bug, dark, and ghost.
Jonscreen I, too, am hoping for some Johto Alolan Forms. There's been a lot of Kanto resurgence to appeal to nostalgia, but I've reached critical mass with Gen 1. Could use some Gen 2 love. Wonder what Alolan Sudowoodo would look like. 😂

i think it could be a great improvement. so, my whole theory, is that Colress made a cameo in the last game right? what if he plays a bigger part in this game? think about it. in his region, they used the splicers on reshiram and zekrom to fuse with kyurem. what if he brought those splicers over to the alola region to do the exact same thing with solgaleo, lunala and necrozma to create the ultimate eclipse.

Necrozma is a prism. A prism is a transparent optical element with flat, polished surfaces that refract light. Light exiting can be split into a 'rainbow' of colours.
Both legendaries are to do with light projection. Both are covered in prisms in this new form and both have a 'rainbow' symbol on their head.
This links in with Matsudas "Pokémon rainbow" rather than Hawaii's 'rainbow state'.
In reality this all makes so much sense and is a brilliant direction for them to go in!

Johnny Melo You know it was obvious it was going to be in the 3DS, GF have said multiple times that they waiting to see how the switch does, plus this isn't the first time they does it.
That and Nintendo have said the switch isn't meant to replace the 3ds and they are not ending support for the 3ds yet.
There a lot of people complaining about the game itself, there is many people who really hate gen 7, I personally enjoyed the current generation a lot so far, but in the way the platinum and emerald fix a lot of their original games, this will probably be a big improvement.
People hate alola? I thoght it was a lot more popular than something like a and y and the designs were kinda popular.

In Sun and Moon both Solgaleo and Lunala are able to travel to ultra space with little explanation as to how and with the new titles literally having "ultra" in the name shows a very possible deeper story. Maybe an explanation of the connection between the legendaries and ultra space/Necrozma and ultra space or just ultra space itself. We might even get new ultra beasts as well as finally getting some Necrozma back story. Either way I'm hyped.
I bought Moon 2 weeks ago finally, and am 150 hours in. Who the hell is disappointed?? Clearly there was construction in Alola, it was empty in so many place. I wanted to finish off stories off all the great characters, a cast I lived more then any other Pokemon. Think Black/White2! How amazing were they. Literally PACKED with stuff to do. I'm not going to get upset over others opinions, but I CAN NOT wait until November!

I am. Nobody asked GF to relaunch Alola, especially after failing to reinvigorate Kalos with an anticipated Pokemon Z game. And nobody was talking smack about the possibility of 4th Gen remakes. That is, until the worst of so-called fans decided to use this curveball of an announcement to basically condescend and belittle those who preferred Sinnoh or anything else over a watered-down version of BW2. GF's most ardent apologists may contest our sentiments until this rift is resolved (Even though this prospect now seems in doubt), but whether you do is irrelevant because there are actually very sound reasons to be disappointed in them.
Honestly Sun and Moon was fun and all but it did begin to feel stale after some time, but besides that, I'm always hyped for a new Pokémon game when they come out and I'm just hoping it will feature Sinnoh and bring many new features. Finally Lunala is looming absolutely sick (I was gonna buy the solgaleo version of the Alola series but I'm stuck with Lunala)
The only new feature I want is the ability to smash Lusamine
Here's some food for thought; Notice how Solgaleo and Lunala are in their Radiant Phases, Like how they are when they *spoiler* were in the ultra dimensions when locating Guzma and Lusamine. What if this fusion thing with Necrozma shifts them into this phase, but for dark purposes? Necrozma is a Prism Pokemon, which refracts light, so what if it's changing their light (their phases) in some way? maybe making it so those phases can be used during battle as well as some sort of plot point is what comes to mind to me. Thoughts and opinions?
Meanwhile I'm just waiting for Pokemon X Deluxe and Pokemon Y Deluxe

kurosakiriku Not really, I own the New 3ds and Moon runs just fine to me. Even in double battles online it runs well for me. Also at least they are putting everything they have into the games instead of making the games underpowered.
111hudson Maybe if they removed the trainers from battle, it would run better as there will be way fewer polygons for the system to render. Or if you want them to remain, only show them from certain angles so that more than 4 models aren't on screen at any one time (or three for a totem battle as the totem aura should count as a separate model). I believe this would drastically improve the frame rate for double battles and battle royals as those had 8 rendered, animated models on screen at the same time along with rendering the moves for the battle.
I think the trainers look cool in battles but I would rather have stable frame rate then trainers in the background
Maybe Sinnoh will be the 2nd region for this game which could be incorporated greatly with stuff like Palkia and Dialga.

I'm putting a safe bet by saying that these formes will be called their ultra forms, in which the legendary pokemon embrace their ultrabeast origins by taking in Necrozma. It also fits with the game names "Ultra Sun" and "Ultra Moon".
Did alola get stale? Yes. Did I dislike alola? Absolutely not. The story is great. It had challenging parts. I like a good amount of he pokemon (araquanid, toucannon, bewear, lycanroc). I think it could be a great jumping off point to an expanded world in Ultra sun and moon.

The fact the story is alternative gives me goosebumps! Imagine the whole story is inverted where Lusamine is not a Villain, Guzma is a Trial Captain, Lily and Gladion live happily with their mother, where you can walk with your Pokemon... I think the alternate colours for Lunala and Solgaleo are the colours from when they take you the Ultra Space from. Probably something to do with the whole fact that Cosmog is an ultra beast or something...
As someone who was PRAYING for Gen 4 remakes, I am rather excited for theses games. The Black and White series is one of my favorites, and I'm eager to see what they do with these games. C:

I'm honestly happy with the outcome. I knew there wasn't gonna be D&P Remakes or something like that,this is why I don't hype myself up and don't believe in rumors until the actual thing comes out
I feel like this is their opportunity to put in things they didn't have time for in the last game. And it makes me think kalos was their big 'mistake' as XY never got an 'improved' version. Things I'm hoping they put in the game:
-use for the walking animations that were found in the files
-the empty plots of land around the region
-power plant (unlike kalos)
-water arcanine (i know it's probably never gonna happen)
-more post game (mini game areas, battle frontier, etc)
-Golf course exploration
-ability to sit down anywhere
-difficulty option like BW2
If they make a lot of improvements to the game in addition to new features then I could be excited for that. Like maybe add an endgame feature where for certain things like battle tree and online battling you can go to a certain building in the game and design a rental team from scratch. They could always make it lore-friendly by making it feel like the random rental tournament Ash went through, only in this game you can request certain rentals like in the old Pokemon Stadium games... except you can also request the exact stat distributions, items, natures, etc. too. Then when you're done "constructing" the request you are given an in-game item/code to select whenever you're in one of the certain endgame areas to receive the rental team.
Of course, breeding would still be a thing because you need your own pokemon to prove yourself and to fight for you in the region's pokemon league, etc. People will still want to breed their favorites to bring around with them on their travels and defend their champion status. The rental thing could be an endgame unlock that doesn't interfere with the game's story. Perhaps they could even make it so you have to unlock pokedex entries to request each type of pokemon to keep the trading aspect of the game alive.
Personally, I would love to have a villain team that isn't dissolved by the end of the game. Part of why the TV series is so great is that Team Rocket is always around the corner. If they could add random enemy encounters like they kinda had in the main hub city in pokemon X & Y then I think the game would feel a little more interesting even after you had already beaten it.
All me and my friend who watched Direct did was shout and swear about our disappointment. Then there was 5 seconds of silence and then I said "I'll still buy it though" and she agreed. Then the laughter began as we realised that every other pokemon fan probably did the same thing
That Lycanroc cutscene looked exactly like the cutscenes before a Totem Pokémon appears. The same goes for Togedemaru. So I'd expect them to be Totem Pokémon this time around.

As a main series game, I really like Sun and Moon. I like it's story, I like the characters, I like the region and I especially like music. The postgame sucks, but really I don't do that for most Pokemon games anyway, save for Gen 2. The Pokemon sucked but I filled my team with Pokemon from every region + my starter/Wishiwashi on my first play through so I was fine.
I think some changes USUM could have is to not be so linear. That's really my only main problem with it along with the choppy frame rate.
B2W2 were still solid games in their own right, even if the story fell a little flat, but they added so many cool things to make them more interesting like the White Tree Hollow and PWT. SuMo needed a little more besides the battle tree so I'm guessing they're just gonna fix some of their mistakes with this one.
It's also missing Fire Red and Leaf Green, but I still think it's Game Freak's message to the masses that we either aren't ready for gen 4 remakes or they just don't have them now, or even that it's a surprise and it's coming soon? Whatever it is, it's there
