Thank you very much for sharing it. If I could then I would encourage all spearos to watch it and think twice before pulling a trigger, but life's constraints, eh. I think we slowly (but steadily) ruin the Seas around the world and it is very unlikely for most of us to take the responsibility. I hope I can reach some bright minds out there. Thanks for your support.
@@mufazalov You have great thoughs and you might be one of the first spearos to talk about the huge problem that we have created with our spearfishing. This topic is very fitting in today's societal problems. Hopefully we can fix the damage... Until then... we might want to hunt a bit more Lionfish ;) Take care and see you in your next video! (In two years or so hahaha)
God, this was a trip... It really made me look deep inside my soul. Especially in the end. I was thinking to myself "please don't shoot the grouper... Please don't shoot it. You will ruin everything... Shoot a lionfish instead" :) Amazing filmmaking and camera work! I love the idea behind the film and the way you portraid it. Your videos have always been an inspiration. I wish you did more of them, but I also know how many hours of hard work are needed to compile a 28 minutes video of this quality... A masterpiece! PS: I loved the decision to include the Bulgarian folk music (17:07 - 19:09). It fits extremely well with the video.
Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts :) The whole idea is to look deeper inside and come to terms with the idea that regardless of our backgrounds our actions in the sea will have consequences. I am very glad when younger spearos share stories of 'not shooting a grouper' and later having a bond with that fish. Unless, somebody else shoots it. That's where the 'dont always shoot - sometimes watch and grow together' argument falls short. 'If I don't shoot then somebody else will'. Sadly, in the end we have what we have. Maybe we can try fixing it slowly, getting a message out. Change the culture. If you liked the video then please, share it with your friends. That would greatly help our goal. And that was 'Lada' performed by Geinoh Yamashirogumi on their 1981 album. Amazing song. I don't understand a word, but whenever I heard it first time I got the chills and promised to myself to use it in some badass way. I think I did :)
Çok güzel ve anlamlı bir çalışma sn. anvar , Aslında bütün mesele BİLMEK ti. kıymetini bilmek , değerini bilmek , önemseye bilmek, saygı duyabilmek ...
Amazing !! We all have our own Ormande. The Lion fish reproduce radically all over the Med sea + the over fishing= Very sad for all of us. . Thank you Anvar for sharing this beautiful and awakening video !
Incredible work ! You're a genius Anvar, really. The level of commitment and passion it takes to produce such a beautiful film, with such a strong and intelligent message is insane. The pictures are amazing, both underwater as well as on land/interviews/archives. Beautiful music and editing, this is absolutely brilliant. Thank you very much for all your work ! P.S. : Shouldn't spearos start hunting for lionfish ? They have become part of the fish consumption in the coastal regions of the gulf of mexico where they've been a major problem for the local biodiversity for the past decade. They are very easy to hunt, and every dead lionfish is one more chance for many other endemic species to thrive.
In love of this video Anvar, unfortunately "Ormande" is in all over the seas. Here where I live (The Straigt of Gibraltar)I know is a very best places in all Mediterranean Sea but the preasure of fishing and the invasor sea plants (rigolupterics okumurae) have kill our sea. One time again Im in love of your work my friend, this video explains the same history that is repeating over and over again. THANK YOU BRO!!, I wish this video makes change many minds and will give one oportunity to our seas. CONGRATULATIONS
Hi Jorge! Thank you for the nice words. I hope spearos start thinking more before pulling the trigger. I heard about rugolopteryx in the Gibraltar and how it is killing off local species, very sad stuff. Very often overfishing/sea exploitation goes hand-in-hand with invasive species. First we break the balance, then a new 'immigrant' comes and takes advantage of that broken balance... Lets see if we can fix it in the future...
Always thinking twice when you see a big grouper, only the idea of shooting one and knowing, this fish is maybe older than me, and i´m way over 30, let my finger relax sometimes. My idea of spearfishing, It´s ok to go for it sometimes, when it´s just for me and my fam but don´t kill the whole area and select wise. Anvar, respect for that quality of filming and the knowlegde you give to all of us. By the way, you are a freediving ninja. I go by freediving very deep, but thinking aboute manipulating something like you do over 50, Chapeau ...
As always Anvar, Top Top Top content that will hopefully awaken some people and change their views. I personally saw the change in "Ormondo" just in the last 8 years. I used to go there and now, between the puffer fish and the scorpion fish things are getting worse, almost empty as a desert. Keep up the good work !!!..
Absolutely amazing brother ! Words just don’t do justice to this masterpiece ! More than just a visual journey, it’s been a really deep spiritual one ! Hands down, one of the best spearfishing videos I’ve ever watched. Thanks for every minute of your hard work to put it all together 👊🏻 Cheers from 🇧🇷
Impressive video. I have been spearfishing lion fish here in Karpaz peninsula with my simple diy pole spear for recent 3 years. It's super easy to hunt them and they taste way better than most other species. I can easily hunt 20 kg in 3 hours. But unfortunately there is no economic value of it. I believe if lion fish finds some economic value thus their population can be controlled easier. Looking forward to seeing your next video.
Amazing filming/editing/diving skills, belissimo film! Personally I don't see a way of fishing more sustainable than spearfishing. Shoot the lion fish!!!! Thanks Anvar!
Awesome videos my friend! I am a British citizen and a keen spearfisherman and i was wondering what are the rules on spearfishing in North Cyprus? Have been here for 10 days and seen so much just free diving!
Thank you. This video is a gift to humanity! The contradiction you have highlighted here applies to many other parts of the world. How can it be resolved? Are we capable of resolving it? Only way forward is by organizing! Bringing together all the parties and fighting for real change in the practice of fishing in general and spear fishing in particular. We need to start by changing our orientation. You have already provided some points of orientation in this video and some of the commentators have also made valuable contributions. Nature reserves have already been established in various parts of the Mediterranean Sea with mixed results. I’m not advocating that it should be applied in this case but maybe we can look at the positives and negatives and work out a more creative solution. Spearos could be given proper training as part of their entry into the sport. The monitoring -regulating activity should not take the form of top down imposition which merely alienates and encourages opposition. It should rather be applied on the basis of voluntary and conscious participation. We all want our trophy fish but it takes a change in culture and orientation to refuse to pull that trigger when it is wrong to do so. The details can be worked out. This process need to be led by people who have their hearts in the right place like yourself.
It's the same problem we have also here in Western Australia, every year more and more people join the sport and what they do it's only putting pictures of the catches on social media. Fortunately we have no lion fish yet but the culture around spearfishing is very bad. I really hope something will change or soon every ocean will become like the Mediterranean. Great video Anvar as all of your videos are, keep making them!!!!

Thank you for being my inspiration throughout these years. If you ever come to Malta let me know. I will take you to the best spots, and in such case prepare yourself for an ultimate 35-40+ Maltese desert challenge: beautiful landscapes with wary Dentex and Mottles, rare big Groupers that run when they see you at the edge of visibility and big AJs that you meet once or trice inna year. Salut!

The single best spearfishing video i have ever seen. The message is so clear. I love this!!!

Wonderful..
the best spearo-made video i've ever seen. congrats and thanks @anvar
Thank you, Gokhan. Share it with your friends, please. Mesajimizi paylasmak icin cok yardimci olacak bize :)
Very well put together, a true mini documentary. Here in northern parts of Mediterranean, Croatia, lionfish are slowly making their way from south. Instead of education and perhaps reimagination of what a good catch is, all spearos here still dream of big groupers. It is sad that generations that came before did not have in mind how unsustainable catching of groupers might get in the future, now that they painted the picture they are the ones blaming young generations of following those same dreams and catching lesser and younger specimens. Education is the key, we don't have enough of it nor do we have workshops or communities to organize trips, give free advice and help other countries, maybe even protect certain zones to get the most of what Med is giving to us. I never understood why on certain areas some invasive species are not the only ones to be targeted while other domicile species are to be protected. Thats so true its empty.
You are a good man thinking about what your doing and teaching others
Thank you .
Thanks for the nice words :)
Anvar video is really good for sustainable fishing it's hard not to think for the future, lionfish are a real nuisance
Really interesting video) thank you Anvar!
Amazing touching video. We have the same problem here in Florida with the Lion Fish.
Love the Video !!! #Norwegianspearo 🙌

Sad true, I can see the same pattern where I dive. I love spearfishing but I constantly feel of urge to quit for the sake of the sea. I think its about time...
