Back when NY was my playground we took the train from Connecticut and got off at Grand Central.. Some of it is still recognizable.. Great video and great memories.. I wish I could go back in time...

I am also hear after reading the third level story by Jack Finney .
I was associated with camp loyaltown in hunter New York for 5 years and we started talking the train to rhinecliff thanby bus to camp. Loved that ride up the huddson my friend moved to croton in the 70s and again went through grand central to et to visit good memories taranctua

One year we got photographed and on TV upon arrival back after ample. Never f hi orgot that seeing us all on TV in a NY apt in the ronx

Ever heard about the New York Platform 9 3/4? - J/K this is the explanation: the girl is playing with the "whispering gallery" or "whispering wall" is located on the Grand Central Terminal dining concourse near the famous Oyster Bar & Restaurant. Here, the acoustics of the low ceramic arches can cause a whisper to sound like a shout.
To test it out, you and a friend will have to stand in opposite corners of the large arched entryway, then face the corner and whisper. Your friend should be able to hear your voice as if you were right next to them, not whispering into a faraway corner.
According to experts, this happens because the whisperer’s voice follows the curve of the domed ceiling.

How fast the world can give such a drastic change. At first when the pandemia started it felt weird to go out in the public wearing a mask. But now it feels weird when you step outside without a mask on, like you know you forgot something. We got used to wearing a mask. I just hope that one day we get back to this, feeling free, free from those masks. Nice video by the way

Funny, yet strange. A world BEFORE the Pandemic. You know, "Wanna Walk", your videos here may make GREAT HISTORY and will be very valuable soon. Because it represents a time which we have lost for over a year and a half! I now try to remember the walks I had in places like this, the freedom i had to walk among people and not worry. the people walking around were not even aware of what was going to come. Like seeing a living museum. I am sorry, but I will NEVER accept and enjoy the "new normal" sales pitch/marketing of what our leaders are saying our society MUST become for the next 5 years!
Hello and sorry about the delay -- I like your comment and you are right. We rarely value what what we have until we lose it. I lost my father during the pandemic, for example. Fortunately, now things are back to normal and we can walk and move where we wish. The only difference (to me) its that now I value these little things like never before. Hope you can do the same 🙂

Hey Daniel. Correct. From Wikipedia: A group of preservationists - aided by First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis - battled with the developers, and o n June 26, 1978, the Supreme Court ruled that any proposal to tear down the terminal would be denied.

I believe that’s the “Whispering Corners”. It’s a place where if you stand in one corner and whisper, the person on the corner diagonally across will hear your voice almost perfectly. I’ve tried it before and it is real! A nice little phenomenon
