Just started playing the Switch version, but the game freezes, crashes, and I have start at the beginning all over again. Is there a way to save the progress mid game?
It’s wild that I found this channel back in the Hollow Fragment days and then got out of SAO games for a long time after Fatal Bullet. And now I’m back here again with Fractured Daydream 😂
I was a bit unsure at first, but after seeing your gameplay, I'm seriously thinking about picking it up and giving it a try! 😏 Free roam seems like a vibe
It's a very interesting take on the SAO franchise. I like many aspects and dislike some aspects. My main gripe is honestly the lobby. They could've had so much potential to make it something more than just a lobby, like the Aincrad city in SAO S1 and make it into an MMO server.
now that i've seen the full system, really excited to pick it up. probably only gonna go for the base version first and see how it goes before considering any dlc
Crafting before you hit max level looks useless as a common item at level 15 is better than a legendary at level 8, so until you get to max level where the items you craft are the highest, its just temporary gear that will be useless really quickly for a decent amount of Col that is also required for upgrading equipment, that gets really expensive.
Yup, exactly what I thought of the crafting system. I wish there was a way to upgrade rank level though (as legend items will be useless if gotten before high level).
@@FoXelinaa yeah go to upgrade option in crafting or when u lookin at characters profile in the weapon tab press touch pad? And it will ask u upgrade or dismantle. U need materials and Col to upgrade
Livire outfit heavily implies that she's not really planned for DLC that makes me kinda sad I'd have loved to see how she interacted with Gabriel in the future
Will be giving this game a go since it's similar to Granblue Fantasy Relink in which I poured over 1k hours into. Relink's content cycle was very short lived so I'm hoping this game will stick around for longer.
I was waiting to see the free roam and this looks a bit disappointing but I might still buy but idk. Was hoping for a traditional mmo style lvl up system in the free roam.
Downloaded and just waiting for Tuesday. Looking forward to it! Haven't really enjoyed a SAO game since the Accel World crossover thing or whatever it was.
The Free Roam seems like just the traditional run around the map and play all you want. Lost Song, AWvsSAO and Fatal Bullet work with this due to their satisfying gameplay. Just comboing anyone around the map while running free. I'm glad this is a thing in FD.
For $50 that's actually good. But I'm mostly playing offline so yeah, same. Unless the game allows you to play with CPUs entirely, I'll grab it right away.
God darn it I do miss fatal bullet High hopes since the same guys made this game I know it's not going to be same mechanics but praying that the "feel" is the same
Can always count on Havian to have videos up so soon with such thorough information and opinions! Can't wait for this to release in NA already so I can play! Until then I'll live through your playthroughs for now.
This looks leagues better than the beta which says a ton because the beta was a ton of fun. Reminds me very of Castlevania Harmony of Despair which is amazing. I can't wait! Thanks for the great video, Havian!
Grateful for players like yourself to show what this game is, I was lucky to try out the network test recently. Sadly, I don't think I could get use to how it plays, it feels stilted or animation lock heavy behind every movement/attack/skill use. I feel like they have been trying to use to techniques or changes with each iteration but can't seem to carry the good parts over. Alicization Lycoris will probably be the last one I play out of love for the IP and even that was somewhat a struggle with the gameplay changes.
@@Loanstalker some people genuinely dont know that lol. It was actually a frequent question back on Havian’s channel back during the hype of fatal bullet.
looking forward to seeing more SAO:FD gameplay! Cant wait to get into it myself for early access tmrw, been waiting for this game for awhile now! it's too bad about the story mode being like that, FB was a more complete game i think. hopefully this is just a bridge game where they are reviving the gameverse and get to make fatal bullet 2 later! I think a full complete game like fatal bullet with this games multiplayer system would be top tier!
As they're going to add Strea i don't see why they won't add the other girls, so high chances she'll be DLC 3 or more (as we already know who's on DLC 2)
Pretty much all Gameverse characters are going to be DLC at this. I hope they will bring Dorothy, Philla, Itsuki, Kureha and Zeliska in the near future
7:40 I noticed when crafting weapons you made 11 total and 6 were for Kirito who's set to be your favorite. You have 4 characters so far and have seen 6. Even with using the worse number for my math, you either got a 54% drop rate (small sample size) or about 2x increased odds. (it would effect the other characters differently, I don't want to do all that math though.) Hopefully this means that your favorite character is actually set to drop items more often, which I noticed in missions, your active character dropped more often, so hopefully those things are true. That would be a massive QoL thing.
Accel World Vs SAO was my favorite SAO game though, it's probably not canon to the gameverse since it does a lot of weird crossover things, time travel and stuff.
Lobby is mobile game worthy. Characters don't have any gameplay customization (no, swapping numbers via gear is not it). No animation cancels make the movesets feel clunky. Honestly GBF:Relink set the bar high enough for this kind of games, thisdoesn't cut it anymore. Free Roam is cool, but that's about it.
Legendary equipment has skill modifiers that change how they work. The gameplay does feel more clunky than similar games, but you actually can animation cancel out of normal combos, just not skills.
Its getting longevity for sure, skins and customization in games keeps them alive for 1-2 years minimum, counting how a community is in every sao game, this will last for years
I remember at the beginning of the beta, you had to select the server: NA or Asia. I think picking Asia might guarantee more Multiplayer players. It's an opinion.
i was on the fence due to dragon ball coming out but this is a must buy. it made you come back to the franchise and as a long time fan i cannot pass this up. thanks for the quality videos
SAO Game History: We love all our previous SAO games! Accel World vs SAO: Um I'm right here... SAO Game History: All of them! SAO Integral Factor: Am I a joke to you all?? SAO Game History: I SAID ALL OF THEM!!! SAOIF being the ONLY decent game that holds up that's actually about the 100 floors of Aincrad I might add!
Free Roam is something that they should've had more frequent footage of in trailers and showcases. The size of the map is astounding and something that people who played the games would have liked in general. Do wish they consider something PSO2-like as a social hub outside of the menu lobby, there's a lot of potential that's being underutilised here. I'm excited to waste a week on this.
My all time most important questions: solo player friendly or not (like wow, where u cant do top endgame things like mythic raid?) Paywall? (P2w, p2p) And ofc, lifetime...will be lot of players ? to play lot of time or need to wait hours to do any party activities?
I really wanted to like this SAO game, but I can't get over how horrible the combat feels. The animations for the skills look great, and have nice impact, but the movement and stiffness just feels so bad. The camera in raids is also a huge problem as there is no FOV slider and the clutter of skills from 20 players plus the boss is just too much. I was also hoping for a more structured raid experience and it is not that at all, this is just pure chaos and attack at will until it dies. I like their entire idea behind the online modes it just wasn't executed in the way I imagined. I'm sure for the fans who like the series and are use to this kind of combat are going to have a blast so that's really all that matters. You can tell the team put in a lot of work here to make something that will have a long multiplayer lifespan so I wish them nothing but the best.
Yeah, the whole pausing thing and being unable to move while attacking especially when the enemies just avoid easily from moving a lot around is annoying, there's no fluidity at all. And you can't animation cancel to really feel the flow.
So I've been curious. If I get the physical copy, can I still get dlc, such as the Joker dress? I want the premium edition but I want to get the physical copy of the game instead of digital, mainly because I got the digital copy of accel world vs sao before I knew there was a physical copy of that game, so I rather have physical copies of these games over digital. I really want the dlc, but I don't want to be held back from it if I get the physical copy. Great channel, by the way. I've been watching for years due to the sao game coverage on you're channel, and I've been playing the games since hollow fragment on ps4, but the last 2 games I didn't bother with that much since, well, I don't think we need that explanation. Can't wait to play this new game in the series tho, looks really fun.
I really hoped the next SAO game was going to be a single player game returning to the Hollow Fragment/Realisation roots or even a Fatal Bullet 2 but instead we got this, a multiplayer game with a focus on what seems to be pre set classes with an in-game store which is actually selling CG's from the previous games and advertising popular characters from past games as DLC characters/classes for gods sake I'm not going to lie. This game looks bad, for the first time ever with an SAO release I'm probably not going to buy it and I honestly think if it wasn't for the file size and graphics preventing them they would have released this as an IOS game with even more microtransactions
$10 says once you right outta the daily crafting limit, it's okay to ask you to fork out real $$$ to craft more, and or the effect Spheres are most likely going to be Microtransactions.
Nah, I don't think so. There's no interest to pay for it anyway, as you can literally drop them while playing. Also, Havian said to have seen spheres somewhere, i believe, so that's also a no. If they were going to add microtransactions, they would have done first and foremost for the trials (Battle Pass). And, I believe they said that the only "paid" part was going to be for Skin Bundle, but that's to be confirmed.
@@HavianCritDmg Do you know if I've done the open test on PS5 but want to play on steam now, will I still get to keep the stuff i dropped during the open test? The price difference hurts on PS5
Nah, you'll need to start again. It won't be hard to get everything back, since you rank up through story quests. So it's faster to get stuff than it was in the beta.
I already picked it up, and i hope Fractured Daydream would be the best SAO game ever made beside Fatal Bullet, since i'm pretty dissapointed with how they managed Alicization games :(
Hey havian idk if u noticed but when u entered the free roam lv 80 to 90 area ur damage was scaled up. In the lower lv area ur her doing hundreds to many a thousand damage and then in the higher lv area ur now doing around 5000 to 8000.
Thank you for the coverage. Really Appreciate you getting into new JRPGs. Because you covered this game I played the Network test and was pretty underwhelmed because the combat feeled pretty bad (huge input delayx, bad hit feedback, unbalanced Roles). There are a lot better games out there you can play for free, like Genshin and have a much better combat that's more responsive. Still, I understand the focus is 20 Player coop in this game, but for that and the lack of Story like you mentioned in your video, 60$+DLC+Battle Pass+MTX seems to be too much to appeal to the more general consumers of this franchise. I understand that it might be more for die hard fans, but overall, I am pretty disappointed in the overall quality and price. In the end, I decided to skip this game. It's really a pity, because I enjoyed Alicization Lycoris quite a bit because of its fill of content.
It looks incredibly bare bones. I guess we are still decades away from an actual interpretation of the SAO world without it having to be based around the characters and just a retelling of the anime story.
glad I didn't pick it up. I was on the fence about it for a while now but 3 minutes in and I can already see it's just like all other older games. I guess I just expected more, since it's a new game but they seem stuck in their ways, like pokemon. it's not a franchise for me, that's fine.
It's already separate drops for each person, each member gets a drop when picked up in a party. The only exception are cosmetic items. Those are unique to each person, so only you can see it when it drops. If you don't pick it up, you lose it until next time.
Oh, OK. Changing regions on steam requires time, effort, and more money than I have right now. I'll just wait till tomorrow after work. Hope to see you in game sometime!
I gotta know how the offline content is. I don't have internet so depending on how it is it could be a deal breaker for me. The fact weapon crafting checks a server makes me very nervous. I know it's multiplayer focused, but I was going to get it to play at my best friend's house where he does have internet. I can't justify getting it if I can't even craft and do basic things at home for when we play next. Even if it's something simple like being able to do content with bots. If it's literally just the story and nothing else, he's paying for half for my copy, and I'm not even sure I could justify $30. Not trying to be negative, as I was very excited for this game, but if anyone could clarify the offline content it would be appreciated.
Hey if anyone can answer this, but in the offline story mode, if you complete the quest or finish the story, are you actually allowed to play as any character in the quest or does it only allow the characters that are given to you in the quest?
So my only complaint is unlike the other SAO games this one is not open world it is pick a quest and bam there you go That's a letdown I remember playing the OG and then the one that came out right after those were open world you traveled through the environment to get to your quest. You fought enemies you level up etc but in this one you pick a story and that's it that's a bummer because it's not open world like the OG's. I wonder what made them shy away from that fatal bullet is a good example Great game Open world I think this is the only one that's not open world actually. Does anybody know why they made the change? Besides this the game is good though I like the combat style the lock on is kind of wonky but again just not being open world is weird for a game that's always been open world.
Unfortunately they're fixed, really wish they were customizable cause I can see people easily getting bored of basically every character rather quickly

It looks incredibly bare bones. I guess we are still decades away from an actual interpretation of the SAO world without it having to be based around the characters and just a retelling of the anime story.
Why does this feel like it was built for the app store?
So does this game make you do quests in story mode, then that allows you to play them co-op? Is this game not completable solely playing co-op?
Hmm, I wonder if the controls (on PC) are as enjoyable as in SAO:FA
glad I didn't pick it up. I was on the fence about it for a while now but 3 minutes in and I can already see it's just like all other older games.
I guess I just expected more, since it's a new game but they seem stuck in their ways, like pokemon.
it's not a franchise for me, that's fine.
Don't think I could justify £50 for another SAO game their pricing is wild although this seems like one of the better ones
Is character customization still the same? Can you change outfit colors or anything
Biggest problem is loot. First to pick it up gets it. Should be separate drops for each person
It's already separate drops for each person, each member gets a drop when picked up in a party. The only exception are cosmetic items. Those are unique to each person, so only you can see it when it drops. If you don't pick it up, you lose it until next time.
Hot take but Hollow Realization was the best SAO game in terms of combat the movement was so fluid
Idea to finally focus more on the multiplayer is nice.
Execution like every other SAO is lackluster and imo not worth 60 bucks.
Game felt like a f2p.
No city hub is a really weird choice imo, I want to AFK and look cool!
In 1 thing its a Simple Loot shooter with Sword and magic on a Hub system.
I played the Demo and it was Ok but not worthy 60 in my opinion.
I dont plan of playing multiplayer do you think i should get the game day 01?
How? Early access is tomorrow.
I was hoping I'd get to play it this weekend but I didn't get to.
It’s out in Japan
So it's a region setting in steam probably then? Darn.
@@kujiko88 Steam is a global release. They probably bought it from the Japanese store on PSN or Region changing on Xbox.
I just picked up the Asia English version on PSN to show people what it's like. I'll be playing the Steam version when it releases though.
Oh, OK. Changing regions on steam requires time, effort, and more money than I have right now.
I'll just wait till tomorrow after work.
Hope to see you in game sometime!
Do you level up in free roam and keep your level or does it reset every time?
looks cool but im starting to have vission problems i cant really read the sub text so no dub no buty from me sadly sucks but what u goina do?
It's so fluent it's amazing honestly better than fatal bullet
Hey if anyone can answer this, but in the offline story mode, if you complete the quest or finish the story, are you actually allowed to play as any character in the quest or does it only allow the characters that are given to you in the quest?
i have a question is there ohter lands like ice fire zones or is this the only map
This looks good just picked it up
havent played since hollow realization i love rain and this game doesnt look that bad so im gonna pick this up and get me that rain icon
Looks at ''History of SAO Games'' tab.
Sad Accel World noises
Are there more skills for every character that just those 3
A time limit on free roam kinda weird
I’m scared to ask but do characters only have 3 skills or can you switch them out for others?
Just 3, but you can modify skills with legendary equipment and change how they work.
How does one have access? ITS STILL 20 HOURS LEFT 😂

@@TrueAce2146 yea, thats the thing, preorders isnt released til 17 more hours from now, ive ultimate edition xD
@@TrueAce2146 Steam is still locked until 16 hours, only console got access rn
@@TrueAce2146 extra early access is for Japan players & anyone who secured a CD version from Japan

Besides this the game is good though I like the combat style the lock on is kind of wonky but again just not being open world is weird for a game that's always been open world.
why are they going backwards? the lobby before you can just roam around. and then we're back to this lol.
Can we play the full game now?
Any idea if youre able to switch character skills or are they fixed?
They'll be fixed for sure
Unfortunately they're fixed, really wish they were customizable cause I can see people easily getting bored of basically every character rather quickly
@@rinnnnnnnnnnrinRinOnishi Damn that sucks. You're right about people getting bored fast because of this though. Thanks for the reply.
Most important question, can you play with Alice ?
Yes
Is it worth it for a single player gamer?
Do I need gamepass to play online on xbox?? please help me with that, I need to know before I buy it
They could've easily made this a Monster Hunter type MMO but it looks like they're leaning into Dungeonborne or Dark & Darker which is unfortunate.
Is Free Roam an online mode too or can we play it offline?
