My father use to work with dhoni as my father was also in South eastern railway the same zone of Dhoni's...when he came to give his resignation my father asked him for signature he made him sign the paper twice which means two signatures😂😂😂 bcz even my father was so sure that one day he will be the biggest cricketer ❤ my father is no more but the memories are still there ❤

Father got supportive due to following two reasons. 1) As you can see, Mahi (Dhoni) got a job/contract with one of the leading Government company of India (for playing cricket) and that too at an young age (remember he's playing Under 19 tournament so basically he's quite young), with a promise of a permanent job from the MD himself. Not to forget he's earning a more than decent amount for a middle class family (again at an young age) as you can see in the movie how he was juvilliant when he purchased his first moter bike with his own salery. And that's what is the dream of a typical middle class father from their child, and Mahi was doing it with flying colours, so he wasn't worried at all. 2) Secondly (what I believe) deep down Dhoni's father too knew about his attachment with cricket and most importantly his potential in that, so thats why eventually he accepted this and started supporting Dhoni. Now the question you asked, why wasn't his father was watching any of his matches, to that I want to say matches Dhoni played weren't significant/appelaing in front of the duty father does where often he has to do multiple shifts (as you can relate in early part of movie) which sometime mean doing night shift in the chilly night of December. Remeber they still belongs to a middle class family till Dhoni became International player and back then there wasn't much of monetary gains in cricket until unless you represent India as international cricketer. Look you can find a good batsman way much easliy than a wicket keeper....his coach made him one of the greatest wicket keeper of all time (maybe the best). And he made himself a great batsman .

👋 hey, from Jamshedpur 🤭 Dhoni played here in our JRD TATA Stadium in his initial years. I wish, my parents allowed me going to Stadium for cricket those years when he was her playing. Since , Jamshedpur is just a small industrial town from a trial state of Jharkhand, we hardly have any cricket games going here. It's a shame I couldn't go to a single cricket match all my life. But hopefully, I will be able to watch Mahi play some day in the future if he still will be playing in the future few years.
