This song has made me look at pigeons differently now. Even pigeons have served during war but no medals for them, they are only hated by most now. A fitting song with that in mind.

I was playing Battlefield 1 with my best friend. Our team was losing /bad/ in operations, snipers everywhere and our tickets slowly falling down. You couldn't stick your head out or you'd be gunned down. Then came our plan; obscure their vision, create a wall of smoke. We filled the entire field with smoke grenades and finally starting advancing. The layers of smoke that we used to push into enemy lines were scary as you could only hear explosions and the constant whistling of bullets but not see any enemy until they were within a few feet of you. It took our team a whole hour to conquer all zones on both maps, and we managed to win with only 5 tickets left. Totally exhausted and completely overwhelmed as to what just happened we entered the menu screen. You guessed it: this song was playing. We both sat there just staring at our screens for five minutes. What an amazing experience.

So good to read, but I hate to be that guy. But another war is inevitable, and it will be devastating globally. There is to many countries with scores to settle, conquest to be done, resources to steal. We still have 18th century mentality. Hopefully, the remains of humanity will build the utopia we all dreamed. :)
Every single time i hear this i just start crying like its so beautifull after playing some conquest and quiting back to the main screen if this plays i just put the controller down and start crying
No matter who fought and died, they fought to change the world. Some for the better, some for the worse. We promised those who fought we would never forget their sacrifices. But, we are beginning to. Remember not just the fallen, but those who lived, for some famous figures came out of this war. Remember, and never forget what these men did. And remember the ones who died trying to prevent this conflict from spreading.

The music truly shows the harsh reality of WW1. As well as the beginning of modern warfare and it’s brutal new machines. The song track for this game was truly a masterpiece.
For some reason, this music makes me feel empty, I remember the year 2016 when BF1 was released, I was leaving high school and listening to this music, it brings back all the memories
this is such a beautiful piece of music, im actually gonna try and learn it on the piano now its so beautiful, so somber, calming, it instills hope into the listener, and makes you feel wonder. truly an amazing piece, even if it is short
By listening to this song you are all remembering those who have fought for freedom and those who have died to let you live in freedom and in sanctuary may we remember those who have died during the great war Young warrior's you may rest once and for all for your sacrifice we give u a poppy 🌹
Came back from work and launched the game, sat on my couch and fell asleep at the main menu, later woke up to this song and fell asleep again. Beautiful
lest we forget lads. when i hear this song in the main menu i don't want to start a match, i will just listen to it until it's over. definitely one of the best songs from bf1
The real tragedy of World War I is how over 17 million people died fighting a war that was completely and utterly pointless at the end of the day: Only to be succeeded by a far more destructive and devastating war.
Now I've been gaming for over 30 years and I really do think Battlefield 1 is as close to perfection as any game has ever got. The atmospherics and gamepley really are near perfection. As for this music and piece in the game, it truly brought me to twars and no game has ever come clise to doing that. What a mess Battlefield 5 is though.
Makes me think of a french soldier in a field of poppies in the cold autumn night, looking up into the starry sky, pondering what the future of humanity holds.
Seriously. This pigeon at the beginning of the game means so much. So many people died for us to have the lives we have today. We should all be eternally grateful to these men. Life is beautiful today because of them yesterday. ❤ I was never expecting to feel not even a little of such moment. I cried the entire flight, man. What are we doing with our lives today, it’s passing by, sliding through our fingers.. And our damn cellphones. Just a reflection.
Hearing those muffled yells of Townsend as Edwards grabs the pigeon and lets it fly out and then hearing this. It made me tear up too much for what i thought could be possible in a game.
Everytime a new match starts.. it ends in a victory position from either side and from either side... It's a break on a screen to hear the song for their hearts.... A song that calms down the soul of the player to be ready.. a song that hypes up the player to be strong... And some that remember their close relatives battling the frontline... It's a beautiful sight and a hoorific reality but their is always light..
when i went into the battle of 1914 with not even knowing where my little brother was at in the war seeing many corpses that had been torn apart the smell of decay in the trenches "blood bath" hell was the first thing that came to mind. as i was charging in with my comrades. soon as the enemies reinforcements started to die down i witnessed my brother right besides me without knowing if he made it out alive, the smile on his face made me felt relieved as i was looking at my little brother thinking that it was all over a 50 caliber bullet was shot throught the tank through my brothers stomach leaving a hole through him as well for his left leg that had been blown off from the tanks expolsion when we got ambushed, our allies managed to get through and finish them off i went back to check to see if my little brother was still alive surprisingly to see him still breathing but heavily i kneeled down to my knees took his hand with his head lying down on my thigh and said"you've always been a good brother to me"as i smiled right back in tears and said" i know" as his hand was shaking from his suffering from the bad wound. tears fell out of his eyes coughing and vomiting out blood rain falling from the sky as he was dying slowley he told me " brother i dont wanna die im scared " and i said "plz dont say that we will make it throught this"but in my mind i already knew he wasnt gonna make it episcally since his guts where scattered every where loosing blood from the leg that was blown off when i looked down at him his last words were im gonna miss you all good bye broth.....and stopped breathing with his last tear running down on his left cheek with his eyes opend starring at the sky with pupils left wide i fell in tears knowing that i lost someone i loved with my hands filled with blood i suddenly stopped crying telling myself that i need to move on for him and my family i closed his eye lids and got up and went on (end scene)
The reason why I stay in the main menu and not start a new match :)

Whilst looking into the eye of the pigeon that's brandishing a mace, you cant help but hear a subtle voice in your mind say:
u wot m8
No matter who fought and died, they fought to change the world. Some for the better, some for the worse. We promised those who fought we would never forget their sacrifices. But, we are beginning to. Remember not just the fallen, but those who lived, for some famous figures came out of this war. Remember, and never forget what these men did. And remember the ones who died trying to prevent this conflict from spreading.
0:45 "Buon compleanno Matteo"
U made me cried asshole
Seijūrō Akashi thank you bro
I'm Italian bro, and buon compleanno Matteo Is Happy birthday Matthew
@@kebab1842 I know I`m 5 moths late, but thats the point. Thats exacly what Luca said in the warstory.
That's Zajdi Zajdi.
Today I still playing that song on piano, and still loving it like I did the first time that I listened it 😍.
Taking a shit was never so emotional
Edward’s campaign was the best, who agrees?
1: Edward/bishop (can’t decide)
2: Lawrence
3 Blackburn
4: Harlem Helfighter dude
5: that Italian guy
@@DanKuman You forgot about the very first mission
@@mr.raccoon6079 "Harlem hell fighter dude" pretty sure he means the last soldier you play as in storm of steel and is also the narrator. (First mission.)
@@MyPS4IsOnFirePleaseHelp Oh,I didn't see it.I'm pretty sure it was edited because I don't remember seeing it on his list.
@@mr.raccoon6079 It's all good.
Still playing battlefield 1 after all these years, still the best battlefield by far
When i was controlling the pigeon i was so fucking curious of what will happen if i fly into a building and i got stuck and my camera was fucked so i had to restart my game xD :/
Wait, you get to control the pigeon in the game?
Pigeon war story campaign when :D
in just 1 minute.
no there is no time limit the music actually just stops and the song doesnt repeat
theLUCKYdude17 it doesn't let you fly into anything I've tried it moves you away from it...
theLUCKYdude17 Liar
Godspeed be with you, Winkie
Fly swiftly home, Winkie...
This game was awesome, but is sad to think that a game like BFV had an overwhelming potential, that was unfortunately wasted.
i cant believe it from 2016
In the middle of a war zone, a pigeon just want to fly home.
So does the soilder.
The music truly shows the harsh reality of WW1. As well as the beginning of modern warfare and it’s brutal new machines. The song track for this game was truly a masterpiece.
Such a jewel under the endless list of short tracks on this planet, that are totally underrated or even not found! Beautiful!
i love this game.. the online operations is beyond words.. amazing game, the best fps ever..
Man, I loved BF1. Will honestly cherish the experience for the rest of my life.
This is magical
For some reason, this music makes me feel empty, I remember the year 2016 when BF1 was released, I was leaving high school and listening to this music, it brings back all the memories
The Pigeon scene, ohmygod, I remember how I was stopping my tears to drop. I tried, but I did cry anyway. T_T
Whoever played battlefield 1’s campaign knows that we will never forget that scene
R.I.P. Bf1 😭😭😢 we'll all miss you very much
Bf1 is alive
Wtf it's still going and very much alive lol. You just abandoned it when it loved you the most.
Is bf1 alive and well on xbox. I have trouble finding games there
2021 and it’s still alive!
this is such a beautiful piece of music, im actually gonna try and learn it on the piano now its so beautiful, so somber, calming, it instills hope into the listener, and makes you feel wonder. truly an amazing piece, even if it is short
I can't cry, cause I'm too busy laughing looking at that pigeon with the mace xD

Remember when this always played in the menu? Man, that was great.
British casualties for animals alone Lost/Killed in action 484,143 horses, mules, camels and bullocks. But 20,000 pigeons died
The first time I played this sequence I legit cried. It was the most beautiful thing I had ever scene in a video game.
By listening to this song you are all remembering those who have fought for freedom and those who have died to let you live in freedom and in sanctuary may we remember those who have died during the great war
Young warrior's you may rest once and for all for your sacrifice we give u a poppy 🌹
2024 anyone?
Forever
Came back from work and launched the game, sat on my couch and fell asleep at the main menu, later woke up to this song and fell asleep again. Beautiful
All the soldiers in the World Wars died fighting for the freedom we now have today.
We shall never forget each and every one of their sacrifices.
lest we forget lads. when i hear this song in the main menu i don't want to start a match, i will just listen to it until it's over. definitely one of the best songs from bf1
The real tragedy of World War I is how over 17 million people died fighting a war that was completely and utterly pointless at the end of the day: Only to be succeeded by a far more destructive and devastating war.
Just about tops off a truly epic game. I've never played such an atmospheric game and doubt I ever will again.
Makes me think of a french soldier in a field of poppies in the cold autumn night, looking up into the starry sky, pondering what the future of humanity holds.
i wish someone made a music box cover of this
Seriously. This pigeon at the beginning of the game means so much. So many people died for us to have the lives we have today. We should all be eternally grateful to these men. Life is beautiful today because of them yesterday. ❤
I was never expecting to feel not even a little of such moment. I cried the entire flight, man. What are we doing with our lives today, it’s passing by, sliding through our fingers.. And our damn cellphones. Just a reflection.
How did I go from listening to Scatmans World to this?
This game will forever be in my heart
This game is really better than now CoD games
This honestly had the best soundtrack for the whole series.
F for all the great souls during the great war thanks all so much for what they did 🙂
Hearing those muffled yells of Townsend as Edwards grabs the pigeon and lets it fly out and then hearing this. It made me tear up too much for what i thought could be possible in a game.
Nostalgia.
I recently re installed battlefield 1. Played this mission. One of the best missions besides the entire Friends in high places story.
Beautiful 😢
Such a beautiful and heart wrenching piece...🥺
Is there someone who still play BF1?... In my opinion the best BF game so far!
Steam version is pretty active. Console version is too but finding a game is hard.
@@Soreal722 you need to search for operations
Easiest way to get into a match
This battlefield was not only a vidéo game, it was a master piece. Best soundtrack ever made for me.
Girls : omg he dont cried watching Titanic
Boys : shut Up im crying for this máster piece

The best scene in battlefield 1.
on the game''Edwards release the pigeon!'' on the mind of the memes ''EDWARDS RELEASE THE MACE!''
This song truly made the game
