I think I fell in love with Sam since he said the line "When I told Dad I was afraid of the thing in my closet, he gave me a 45." and that hasn't shifted through the whole course of the show. (Dean did grow on me after a while, but I related to Sam from the start and he's still the one I identify with the most.)
I think mostly everybody who watches Supernatural has a crush on Dean/Jensen I am definitely a dean girl all the way. You will fall even more in love with him once you hear him sing, he sounds so amazing like a soothing angel
This is the episode I fell in love with Dean. His speech about helping people was so strong. It took me longer to love Sam but definitely by the end of season one I was in on both of them. Love the show in all its ups and downs.
i think my favourite thing about this show is how they never took themselves too seriously. honestly warching bloopers and the behind the scenes stuff brings me so much joy.
I've had a crush on Jensen/Dean since 2004 or 2005, (I don't remember if I saw him first on Smallville or SPN) and it's weird cause my crushes usually fade rather quick, but this one's still going strong, he's aging like a fine wine and I could hear him sing all day
I can see how a show like this could trigger childhood religious trauma, however this show is so much more. Its really about brotherhood, loyalty and it has A LOT of laughs. Stick with it. 😊
Throughout my re-watch Dean will always be close to my heart, like if anybody hurt him I actually am really mad about that. he is just the best character to me. I watch Jensen in alot of shows before but Dean is the best.
I was around your age as well (Born in 1992) when this show came out. I started watching around 2008 when season 4 aired and immediately fell in love. I was a straight guy back then so I had a crush on the gorgeous ladies of Supernatural. But now that I’m leaning bi, my crush is definitely Sam. I mean, you’ll see in later seasons particularly season 4 episode 1 why, and season 6 too ;-)
Dean's charisma really did win me over. Although, realistically, I'd probably be more compatible with Sam. But personally, I don't think either of them are like "Yes, perfect--this is My Guy"
The Haunting of Hill House is crazy. It totally creeped me out. I'm not really into horror movies or shows, but I watched it because everyone was talking about it. It is really good, but be prepared to be totally freaked out. I'm so glad you've fallen in love with the show. I also have a crush on Dean. Ever since season 1 and until the end of season 15. You'll come to know these 2 boys and what makes them tick. What makes them be the way they are. Enjoy the ride!
I share spree same fears even in my 30’s. I grew up in a Christian household however my parent were not strict on stuff we watched. We never really watched things concerning demons or anything until like my late teens. Even wasn’t heavy stuff. I didn’t see the omen until my late 20’s stuff like the conjuring I had to see on my own. The horror movies we watched were Halloween , childs play, Friday the 13th. The exception would have to be keepers creepers and tales from the hood. I think those were the exceptions I watched being younger and watching them with family. I had friends who parent wouldn’t let them watch Fantasia the original with the Night on Bald Mountain. I had never seen it but still asked why they couldn’t see it. I still haven’t seen it but asked my parents when I was younger to watch it and they said sure. I feel because of our beliefs we are more sensitive and susceptible to certain entertainment. Not just with film in college this girl was reading tarot cards for me and I had a horrifying experience never doing that again.
When I first started watching this show I was so crushing on Dean. But gradually I'm so in love with Sam! Still love Dean though but Sam has my heart ❤️.
Season 6 Jared Padalecki would have made an excellent Superman. He's tall in great shape, and has that good guy aura about him. Just added blue contacts and *Presto* The Man of Steel is here... (Later on he had some mental health issues, and that really took a toll).

I've known for a little while we're the same age but hearing you talk about it during the reaction is still weird because I'm like an old viewer like GoT and pre-season 7 Walking Dead reactions haha so I always revert to thinking you're younger than me 😆 but yeah I was also 15 when Supernatural came out. My mom is unfortunately a Jehovah Witness and she was VERY strict about watching demonic or supernatural things, so there was just no way I could faithfully watch the shoe when it came out. And I LOVE the supernatural lmao it was so frustrating. But yes she has that fear of watching these type of things can draw them to you and all that. I KIND of have it to, but not as extreme. I've never thought Supernatural the show could draw stuff in. It's a little too fantastical. Even at it's most dramatic and intense storylines, the story is more "epic" than "demonic horror", of you know what i mean. It is an action show in a way, with horror elements. I am careful about watching too many demonic possession movies like The Conjuring and such. Mostly because my house is kind of haunted, has been for a long time. It goes through phases. Last like 8 months it's been chill. I don't want to poke the bear. Most of the time things aren't bad here, only a few times has it gotten....kind of rough. So I do not watch that many demonic based things, specially if based in real events, in my home so I get your concern. But I do love watching them in theaters or at friends houses for Halloween. But I do have that fear even if it's to a much lesser extent. I didn't get to actually watch Supernatural until season 4 had aired and 5 was about to premiere in a few months. My girlfriend in high school brought over the first 3 seasons DVDs one day that my mom wasn't home and I was so ecstatic. She knew I would love it she liked it too but yeah fair to say I became the bigger fan🤣🤣 season 4 was being played again on the CW from the beginning, and I caught on mid way through. And I was mind blown. Seasons 4 and 5 easily the best of the show I'm just glad I caught 5 as it was airing live it was so hype 😄
I love horror but I grew up in a more chill catholic family. Since my dad is Japanese and a non-catholic, my mom never really forced any type of belief on myself or my dad. But she did encourage me to go to church and to learn about catholicism since I was raised in my mom's home country, which is mostly catholic, and I was more closely connected with my mom's family who are all catholic. Idk why I grew a liking to horror but maybe just having the liberty to explore the genre at a young age (my parents definitely wouldn't let me explore it too young, but during my early teens I kind of got into it) opened my mind to it.

Sam-girl all the way. And more so on each rewatch. Also, Jared Padalecki (actor of Sam) is one of my top celebrity crushes. He is so kind and such a wonderful, funny, intelligent person. His advocacy for mental health helped me tremendously through my teen years and I mean... it doesn't hurt that he's absolutely gorgeous. I love the full cast of Supernatural and still have love in my heart for Dean, but the more I rewatch the more compelling I find Sam and the harder it is to watch Dean. I think part of the reason so many people love Dean more is that he's a bit easier to understand and the writing mostly plays from his point of view. Oftentimes Sam is misunderstood and is harder to relate to, but the older I get the more I appreciate his character (and the more intrusive my crush on Jared becomes in my daily life). Still love the whole Winchester family but Sam is definitely my favorite. **also, no part of this comment is meant to antagonize any Dean fans, just want to make it clear that this is my personal preference**
I would definitely choose Dean. Don't get me wrong, Sam is adorable and gorgeous, but just not really my type. Dean is weirdly enough more my type look wise despite me otherwise having a huge weakness for dark hair and blue eyes - I guess it's just Jensen proving he is too hot not to override my usual preferences 😂 Personality wise he hits all my weaknesses as well - he is funny and charming, is very protective, loyal and fearless when it comes to fighting for others. He would need to work on his issues with regards to low self esteem and expressing his emotions to be an ideal partner of course, but yeah... when he loves he loves fiercely and deeply, and is so loyal and sweet that I couldn't not choose him 😍
I'm grew up in a household full of Christians(even though they didn't act like it). I learned at a very young age not to take everything my parents said seriously. I can't say I like horror, but I'm not fearful of it either.
dean for the looks and sam for the brains lol. funny you mention bugs, its one that people arent fans of either for the most part they joke about it in the show later on too
