The phrygian dominant is the 5th mode of the Harmonic Minor and the super locrian (a.k.a. altered dominant) is the 7th mode of the Melodic Minor. I used to play them but didn't really know them by name for a long time until I started teaching. (lol) On a different note I wanted to say I enjoyed your Latin tribute to Wes!!
@@RichieZellon Thank you Richie! Ah Yes! so that I think is also know as the Mixolydian b2 b6? 1 b2, 3, 4, 5, b6, b7? and yes the altered dom. ( I should know that one :-) Thank you Richie! glad you enjoyed the Latin Wes! working on a new project soon.
hiya Richie If you don't mind me asking, what is the story behind your headgear? Maybe you've answered the same question in the past but I missed that. I wasn't going to bother asking, but I've seen a couple of other jazz guys wear similar and would just like to understand. Thanks.
This is a hand woven cap by a woman in the Peruvian Andes mountains. I purchased it when traveling there over 30 years ago. I started wearing it on my gigs and it became part of my image...it's my "mojo" (lol)

@@RichieZellon ok, thanks for the info.
Master, please can you provide a list of the used tunes in the descrption ?
The free download has all the tunes with the notation shown.
@@RichieZellon Top, thanks!
Why your D7 chord in Autumn Leaves doesn't contain the note D and still sound awesome!?!?! 😵
You don't need the root for a chord to sound good. The 3rd and 7th define the chord and imply the root.
