finally a someone who gets it, for me the trials of apollo was hands down THE best series written by him, especially tower of Nero.

Imo I think my two favorite series in the riordanverse were the Kane chronicles and trials of Apollo. Kane chronicles is really good because it brings the different character perspectives without have too many like in heroes of Olympus, it’s take on the Egyptian gods was really good as well, and not just making them jerks again like the Greek/Roman gods. Trials of Apollo has the best balance of humor, emotion, and character development in the entire series. It is an amazing finisher for the Percy Jackson series if it is the last series.
Wow! Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I love the Kane Chronicles and Trials of Apollo too and I honestly find them pretty underrated in the fandom because everyone seems so focused on just PJO; probably because of the Disney+ adaptation but I’m glad to see that someone enjoys these books too! 👍
@@YceSy yeah I also feel like PJO is always focused in the fandom too, I think they are still amazing books but some people don’t give the others a chance since they all have different writing styles and character styles and aren’t just PJO again

Lighting thief: blue food amazing. What an intro to the characters, fell in love with everyone especially our main Percy instantly. Luke’s betrayal was shocking. I 100% expected annabeth
Sea of monsters: could have been better. If I’m being honest, this book made me stop the series for a while cos I got bored; it’s definitely my least favourite riodanverse book because I found it too slow and idk the action just wasn’t all that for a place that is full of monsters
Titan’s curse: DESERVES TO BE IN OLYMPUS. If you introduce nico and Thalia in the same book, you know you’ve won. Let alone Bianca and Zoe’s death slapping hard and seeing annabeth and Percy lift the sky.
Battle of Labyrinth: Blue food amazing. Percabeth’s first kiss ❤ and the labyrinth is so interesting and the battle was great.
Last Olympian: OLYMPUS OLYMPUS OLYMPUS!! What a finale, it had everyone and everything I needed. Percabeth, an insane fight. Poseidon saving the day was epic, Luke’s sacrifice. The battle never stopping, everyone gets their moment here.
Lost hero: generally like. I, just like everyone was confused where Percy went but unlike everyone, I got used to the main cast quickly. However, i wished we got more Thalia and Jason moments. I mean they barely even interacted
Son of Neptune: blue food amazing. My god I love Percy back, and Frank and Hazel were great characters too. But I love Reyna, she’s the best. She’s top 3 characters for me behind Nico and Percy
Mark of Athena: OLYMPUS!! This was prime Annabeth y’all. Absolute peak storyline for her. Just look at this lineup of POVs: Annabeth, piper, Leo, percy. Tell me that’s not the best lineup of POVs.
House of Hades: OLYMPUS! HANG THAT UP NOW! Best book in the riodanverse; prime percabeth. Cupid scene, prime Hazel. Bob 😭BEST RIODANVERSE BOOK I’m serious
Blood of Olympus: blue food amazing. Honestly, if it weren’t for Nico and Reyna, it’d be in “could be better” but I love both of them so much. They have that sibling dynamic yet they become such close friends . I love how everyone considers them as part of the 7 as well. However, apart from nico and Reyna it was rather ehhh. I expected more Percy and annabeth to see their post Tartarus trauma experiences and flashbacks and was disappointed not to have it.
Red pyramid: Generally like. Kane chronicles is severely underrated but I feel the series gets better as it goes along. I liked this book, great intro, I LOVE SADIE THOUGH!
Throne of fire: Blue food amazing, this series gets better as it goes. I haven’t read it in a while, but I remember loving it loads. I love Sadie as much as annabeth and that says a lot cos I adore annabeth
Serpent’s shadow: Olympus! I said it, it’s peak. What a finale. There’s not much for me to tell about these 3 cos I haven’t read them in a while but I remember loving them and I remember loving Sadie to bits
Sword of Summer: blue food amazing. I loved the intro to Magnus, I loved Jack. I love all the characters we’re introduced to here. This is just a great book
Hammer of Thor: blue food amazing. I loved Alex, best character here. Loki is the better villain for sure, and I love everyone now. Magnus, Alex, Sam, blitz, hearth. This was the book that got me more engrossed in the characters.
Ship of the dead: blue food amazing. This trio is just consistent. Though I do feel this is the weakest of the three, it’s still amazing.
Hidden oracle: blue food amazing. I love the intro, it gives Apollo so much character growth here. This intro is damn underrated.
Dark prophecy: generally like. Was eh, I loved Leo back. But plot wise, wasn’t much. I even forgot the emperor’s name here 💀
Burning maze: OLYMPUS!! I mean we all know the end. Jason… jason😢 but the emotional weight in this really hits hard, especially for Apollo. I mean… this book made me love Jason and piper more. I don’t get how anyone hates any of the 7, I genuinely think Rick nailed it with ALL of them. Imo even the worst character of the 7 has better writing than 80% of leads in other series
Tyrant’s tomb: OLYMPUS! MORE REYNA!!! FRANK’s growth and sacrifice is so heartwarming.
Tower of Nero: Olympus. Don’t wanna say anymore as I’ve been typing here forever but this book is a masterpiece. Rick is a legend for all these books

i absolutely loved the magnus chase series so much, probably my favourite rick riordan series imo. although i totally agree with the fact that the final battle in the ship of the dead was kind of anti climactic.

1:18 (Lost Hero) Would have put on Blue Food, 1:57 (Son of Neptune) Could be better, to me it is painful to see Percy not know anything when you’ve read PJO, 2:31 (Mark of Athena) RELATE, 2:58 (House of Hades) I honestly would put this one on Blue Food, though I will say, I haven’t read it in a while. 3:32 (Blood of Olympus) Deserves to be on Olympus, no explaining needed. 4:01 (Sword of Summer) Agreed, 4:28 (Hammer of Thor) Could be better, 4:51 (Ship of the Dead) Blue Food. 5:55 (Lighting Thief) Deserves to be on Olympus. This is the best starting book to a series I have ever witnessed and read. 6:24 (Sea of Monsters) Blue Food, not as good as its predecessor 7:11 (Titans Curse) With the introduction of the MAN Nico di Angelo, Blue Food. None else to say. Oh, and the “I got to go to the dam bathroom!” Things. 7:45 (Battle of the Labyrinth) Blue food for one reason. Imagining Annabeth’s face when she gets Daedalus’s laptop. 8:05 (Last Olympian) Deserves to be on Olympus. No explanation. Haven't read the other ones in years, so I don’t remember DAM ‘bout ‘em so no ranking them. Anyway, thats my opinion. Congrats for making through this block of text.

Hi, there! I actually ranked it at "Generally Like" and I placed it there not because it's a bad book. I do appreciate it but it has been a while since I read it and because of it, I don't remember that much about it. I enjoyed reading the book especially since it gave me the introduction to the Riordanverse but I placed it there because I think it's not in the same level as the ones in 'Blue Food Amazing' and 'Deserves to be on Olympus'.
About to start trials of apollo and just discouvered jason lost to a brick

I love Rick Riordan‘s books to think there were more stories to tell with magnus chase how do you feel about the sun and the star I think it deserves to be an Olympus there was loads of action we get to see the inner workings of Neko and will relationship I felt like it genuinely had steaks I thought one of them was going to die for almost the whole book Will finally excepts Nico for who he is and Nico puts stuff in the past that needs to be in the past

i should give the tyrant’s tomb another go, perhaps. i didn’t like it much. but then, i also despised the son of neptune when i first read it, and when i went back to it… DUDE, what a fucking amazing book!

Hii! Sorry for the REALLY late reply but I’m still currently reading The Sun and the Star and so far, I’m placing it in the ‘Blue Food Amazing’ tier.

my only problem with tower of Nero was how fast the python fight ended, hands down the best book. haven't ready Kane yet and still on the 3rd magnus chase books (I accidently read trials of apollo before magnus chase). so far magnus chase has pacing issues and its a lil woke. I don't like how incompetent magnus is in most areas. usually the main characters take a leadership role, however magnus is kind of a puppy compared to samira and alex. samira for me is just too good at everything. most of her problems are her limiting herself. I compare her to annabeth who knew her limits and worked around them with the help of friends. i don't like the constant times magnus says alex and samira would kill him, its meant to be jokish but its constant. the bonds he got from floor 19 feels kind of rushed. they are willing to throw down their lives way too quickly for someone they knew for like a day. the lost warrior is unfavorable for me because it took me out of that Percy Jackson groove and threw me into wild waters. even though it introduced my boi leo valdez. the later 4 are all extremely good. Nico best character for me hands down.

That fight against Python was the only thing I found iffy in the book but the rest was a masterpiece to me. And yeah, I get what you mean about Magnus Chase books. I did feel the pacing issues a couple of times in the books but I tried to push past it and enjoy. About Magnus as a main character... I get it. Magnus seems pretty incompetent at times but I found myself liking his character anyway. He's nice, loyal, brave, and even though he isn't the most skilled in combat, he's willing to fight for what's right. The bonds he develops with his hall mates being rushed... I felt that! It feels refreshing to hear someone point it out because I just feel like nobody is talking about it so thanks! In the book you're reading now: Ship of the Dead, I felt the rushed backstories of Magnus' hall mates there and I think Rick just tried to do it all there because he wasn't able to do it in the previous books. Lastly, I relate. I love Nico so much too! ❤️
I’m opinion was that the trials of Apollo were just bad hard to top it’s predecessor Heros of Olympus

I'm sorry, but the Tyrant's tomb was not only rediculous but had no payoff. Rick refuses to kill off characters, and the idea of Apollo being a bully Luke a child is stupid.

Personally I liked son of Neptune, but it seemed like it was unnecessary, don’t get me wrong it was great story and I’m glad it was written as it explained everything Percy went through.
It doesn’t really hurt the flow, but it feels kinda out of place y’know?

Wow... that’s a comment that I haven’t heard of from that book. For me, I loved Son of Neptune a lot but I get what you mean. If you compare the plots of the rest of the Heroes of Olympus books, it does seem out of place. 😅
@@YceSy i had read all the other heroes of olympus books before i read son of neptune (couldnt get it at the library for the longest time, i now own all the main books from all the series) so that made it a little bit worse for me ig. It was helpful to the plot, being able to read son of neptune though. Im really not sure how it could have been done better, ive been thinking of son of neptune being first or something, but that messes with the flow of the others with a gap of story between the end of son of neptune and the beginning of mark of athena, had son of neptune been first, with son of Jupiter second
