Oh no...this is simply sublime!! Forget all other versions.....this is as good as it gets. I am also tired of people going on about Pavarotti's powerful voice....he did have a powerful voice..so what? Bocelli's inflection of tone is simply heavenly. He is the Maestro and Pavarotti recognised his talent by joining him in a duet!!

This is not Caccini's. A setting of Ave Maria written by Soviet (Russian) composer Vladimir Vavilov is often misattributed to Caccini. Composer V. Vavilov created this composition in 60 s, and published it in 1970. Due to the state anti-religious policy in Soviet Union, V. Vavilov could not name this composition as Ave Maria at that time. Only after collapse of the USSR, his name became known as the author of this creation. Later, for some reason, name of Caccini, has been claimed as the author of this Ave Maria.
I'm thirteen and love andrea bocelli! my mother has him on her ipod so i've heard him sing alot! very beutiful! it's sad some teens and children don't listen to this.
